ELCANNON COFFMAN, Pioneer
Elcannon Coffman, a lifelong resident of Delaware County, died at his home 2 miles south of Yorktown at 10:00 o'clock last night.. Surviving are 1 son, William of Indianapolis and brother, Frank of Alexandria, Mrs Glen Perdieu, who her and her husband made their home at the Coffman residence is a granddaughter. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 Thursday afternoon at Pikes Peak Church with Reverend Mr Osborn in charge, burial will be in Painter Cemetery

FILE-COFFMAN WILL IN PROBATE
The Will of Elcannon Coffman whose death occured August 21, 1933, was filed for probate yesterday in the office of Mabel B Ringo, County Clerk. The Estate is valued at $4500.00. The will drawn April 9, 1930, who witnessed by Charline H McGuire and AE Needham, William F Coffman has been named Executor.
Among other things, the will first provides for burial of the testators body., payments of debt and of a marker for his grave. To his grandniece, Ruth E Thornbro Perdieu is given a sewing machine, parlor stand, 1/2 of the chickens in the testators farm and the sum of $300.00. To the Trustees of the Pikes Peak Christian Church in Salem Township is bequeathed the sum of $100.00 and the same amount to the trustees of the Painter Cemetery, Henry County. The Cemetery bequest is to be invested for 20 yrs and the net proceeds to be expanded by the trustees in the upkeep and maintence of the burial est. of the Testator. At the end of 20 yrs, the $100.00 is to become the property of the Cemetery Trustees. The residue of the estate is to be given 1/2 to son William and the remainder of 1/2 to be divided between Cannon Loscent, Ellen B Loscent Sommercville and Elizabeth A Loscent all of Indianapolis. It is ordered that the estate be reduced to cash
Amanda Elizabeth (McVey) Thornbro was the widow of Issac Thornbro, they had 2 childern. Their son James William Thornbro married Mary Emma Painter, the daughter of William J Painter and Hannah S (Coffman)Painter. Their family history can be found on Mary Emma Painter Thornbro's page.
