Indian Creek Celebrates 30th year of providing fire protection

Hello,
It is hard to believe that summer is over and fall is here.  We hope that everyone is enjoying the cooler weather.  On September 14 we held our 30-Year anniversary party.  We had lots of good food with friends and neighbors visiting and laughing together.  Alan Weimer was our Master of Ceremony for the evening.  We were fortunate in having some past fire fighters, board members, ladies auxiliary and several friends to help us with our celebration.  Thanks to each of you that were able to attend and participate in our celebration.  I know there were several who wanted to attend and had prior commitments thank you for your well wishes.  We would like to thank Kip and Whitney Schlegel, Pat and Cheryl Munson, Brad and Amy Swain, Alan and Donna Rose Weimer, Georgia Nichols, Ron Cooper,

Jerry Hooten and each of the firefighters and board members for all their efforts in making the Celebration a success.  To our friends and neighbors of the community thank you for all of your support in the past, present and future, without
you we would not have been able to continue in our endeavor to serve the community.
We have been discussing daytime coverage with the Indian Creek Trustee and Township Board.  At the last township board meeting it was decided that the Indian Creek Firefighters, Inc. put together a proposal of job description and how much money it would take to hire daytime coverage Monday thru Friday.  Then present this proposal back to the Township Board and Trustee for consideration in appropriation of funds.  Subcommittees of the Indian Creek Firefighters, Inc board have been doing research on what is required by law in setting up a combina

combination fire department.  We hope to have the proposal done soon and back to the board for
their consideration.  If you have any comments or suggestions please feel free to call us at 824-6202.
We still need volunteers for the auxiliary, and firefighters.  Just

ICF 2003 Membership Drive Underway

ICF has started our membership drive.  Membership is $5.00 dollars per person.  If you would like more information on membership or to purchase a membership please call the fire station at 824-6202, leave your name and number and someone will contact you.  If interested in
becoming a volunteer fire

fighter, joining the auxiliary or helping with any fund raising event please call 824-6202 and someone from the fire department will contact you.  What ever amount of time you can volunteer is greatly appreciated.  Come to the fire station and meet some of the men and women who volunteer their time to help all of us in Indian Creek Township.

The Indian Creek Community Association could really use your help and ideas in planning and presenting these programs. If you can help please plan to attend the following meetings all on Thursdays.

November 14
Meetings will be held at the park, Lion's Club or fire department depending on weather.
