Public Notice No. 21/2000

        Kind attention of Trade and all concerned is invited to this Custom House Public Notice 58/98 dated 05.08.1998 stipulating that exports from Mini Custom House Haldia shall be deemed to have been done from Calcutta Custom House for the purpose of availing of DEPB benefit, and for the purpose of Para 7-36 of Handbook of Procedures, Haldia Mini Custom House and Calcutta shall be treated as a single port.

        However, in view of detection of large number of DEPB fraud cases including forgery of DEPB licences as also fraudulent escalation of value, it has now been decided to modify the P.N. 58/98 suitably.

        It has now been decided that all DEPB Shipping Bills covering Haldia-bound goods shall be registered and processed at Calcutta Custom House. The assessment of the  export goods to cess and verification of licence as also PMV shall now be completed in Calcutta itself. Examination, however, shall be carried out at Haldia Mini Custom House. The Public Notice No. 58/98 dated 05.08.98 stands modified accordingly with immediate effect.
