Public Notice
No. 22/2000
Dated 14.03.2000
Subject : Delay in filing of EGM by the Steamer Agent
Attention of Exporters, Shippers' Association, CHA, Steamer Agents and all other concerned is invited to Public Notice No. 19/2000 dated 06.03.2000 on the above subject.
Associations have requested the Custom House to allow the steamer agents to furnish continuity bond with security for Rs. 50,000/- instead of Rs. 1 lac and have also requested that those who have already filed the general bond with security of Rs.30,000/- having validity of three years may be allowed to continue till expiry of the bond. Further, they have also requested that the current system of vessel bond on a per entry basis may be accepted with a security bond of Rs. 10,000/- for those steamer agents who prefer not to file the general bond.
The position has been reviewed and it has been decided that a security deposit of Rs.50,000/- will be accepted instead of Rs. 1 lac in respect of continuity bond. However, general bond with cash security of Rs.30,000/- (valid for three years) already accepted by the Custom House will continue till the expiry of the bond. The Steamer Agents shall have the option to file vessel bond on a per entry basis (instead of a general bond) along with cash security of Rs.10,000/-.
