The written part examination for pass
in Form `G` under Regulation 20 of
CHALAR `84, as amended for employees of Custom House Agents will be held on
15-02-2000 from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. at CRC Hall, Custom House, Calcutta.
All the Custom House Agents holding regular CHA licence under Reg. 10 and
temporary CHA licence under Reg. 8 are hereby informed to forward the names of
eligible employees / partners / directors in the prescribed proforma enclosed
with this P.N. The minimum criteria of the candidates so sponsored, is as
follows :
(a) shall have passed the 10th
standard from Central Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent before his
employment.
(b) (i) possess a "Pass" in Form `H` under Reg. 20 i.e, provisional
Identity Cum Authority Card issued
by this office on or after 14-08-99 and the sponsoring CHA should give a
declaration to the effect that the candidates, so sponsored, has not availed
4(four) chances previously and on scrutiny of records if misdeclaration is found,
action against the CHA would be initiated as per CHALR` 84.
(ii) possess a`B`class Identity Card issued
by this Custom House previously. It may be noted that this facility is given as
a special case only for availing of the said examination under Reg. 20 of
CHALR`84 and if the candidates do not pass the said examination, they may not be
allowed to retain the said pass (`B`) class, any further except under
unavoidable circumstances.
The names of candidates who possess`H`pass under Reg. 20 prior to
14-08-99 may also be sponsored and they may be allowed to appear at the said
Examination subject to special order made by Assistant Commissioner of Customs (
P & E) subject to the condition that the candidates have not already availed
of 4 (four) chances previously as provided under Reg. 20 of CHALR `84.
The maximum marks for both written and oral Exam would be 100 and the
minimum pass marks would be 40 in each test separately in written & oral
test for the said examination. Only those candidates who qualify in the written
part will be called for the oral test.
In case where the holder of `H` pass under Reg. 20 fails to qualify in 4
(four) attempts, their `H` pass
would automatically lapse with effect from the date of publication of the
results of written examination or the oral examination as the case may be.
Roll No. and sitting arrangement of the candidates would be displayed on
the Notice Board of (P&E) department, Custom House, Calcutta:700 001 on
14-02-2000.
The application should be furnished in the prescribed form given in
Annexure- I of this Notice for each candidate
separately along with proof in support of educational qualification. The
sponsoring letter, proforma form duly filled in ( a/w proof of educational
qualification) and 2 (two) copies of passport size photographs duly certified by
the CHA, should reach the office of Assistant Commissioner of Customs for
Personnel & Establishment (CHA), Custom House, 15/1, Strand Road, Calcutta :
1 positively by 9-02-2000.
Application received after 09-02-2000 will not be entertained.
