Important modifications in the notification :
1. LTA is to be paid at the actual basic pay, and not minimum of the scale as contained in Table VII of the recommendations.
2. To calculate Dearness Allowance, the All India Consumer Price Index is to be used, as soon as the figures for the quarter becomes available. Dearness allowance will become payable from the beginning of the quarter immediately succeeding the quarter for which average All India Consumer Price Index figures are used for determining rate of Dearness Allowance. (This replaces the earlier recommended formula using Regional Consumer Price Index Number)
3. In mode of payment of arrears, the 30 months stipulation in 10 monthly instalments has been modified to 18 months, in three equal instalments of 6 monthly instalments each.
