The first community campaign to popularise its activity was held by the Sustainable Urban Biodynamic Horticulture and Agriculture Movement (SUBHAM) at the Kasturba Nagar Community Hall, Adyar on the morning of October 16, 2004.
The Community Hall premises were "greened" virtually overnight, with an exhibition of landscaping plants and organic gardening inputs from different agencies in Chennai and its suburbs.
It was a morning of jubilation for enthusiasts of organic gardening, as the SUBHAM team consisting of J.Raghavendra Rao, Managing Trustee and members soil scientist Dr.Sultan Ismail, rainwater harvesting expert Dr.Sekar Raghavan and botanist Dr.Bama Rengan drawing a big audience eager to learn the virtues of the raising plants the natural way.
