Kerala Tour

Come and visit Kerala, south India - we call it "God's Own Country"  - where the wildness of emerald forests and the long, dazzling, palm-fringed sandy shore of the Arabian Sea merge together. Experience the tropical climate with exotic dragonflies and butterflies in profusion. Relax under the coconut trees and enjoy the taste of tender coconuts. Cruise in the picturesque houseboats in the backwaters of Allapuzha in the southern part of the state.

I am Francy Kakkassery, lecturer and dragonfly specialist in the Department of  Zoology at St. Thomas College, Trichur, Kerala. I would like to arrange 2 or 3 week, moderately priced field excursions for 6-8 natural history enthusiasts, exploring the wildlife, and especially the dragonflies, butterflies and birds, in the tropical rainforests of the mountainous Western Ghats and surrounding plains of Kerala. During the trips I hope to include programmes which will acquaint you with the cultural heritage of our beautiful state.

This is not a commercial venture, but an effort to help raise funds to pursue my odonata research and help conserve the dragonflies of this lovely region. My web site on Indian dragonflies is at:
