Plot

The Thin Red Line is poised to make the point that War Is Hell. Based on a novel by James Jones (whose From Here to Eternity spawned the 1953 Oscar-winner about the days leading up to World War II), it follows a tough colonel (Nick Nolte) and his battalion as they invade the Japanese-held Guadalcanal Island. |
