The Certified Professional Secretary® and Certified Administrative Professional® programs are administered by the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP). More than 60,000 administrative professionals have attained the CPS® designation. The CAPcm rating which was first administered in May 2001 has been achieved by more than 2,300 individuals.
The Exam is administered each May and November.
Part 4 of the CAP exam is administered on Friday afternoon. Parts 1-3 of the CPS and CAP exams are administered on Saturday.
Note: Certain Sabbatarian and international sites have been approved to test on Thursday and Friday, due to the religious beliefs of their candidates. All other sites test on Friday afternoon and Saturday.
The test is given at over 250 locations across the United States, Canada and other countries

Future Exam and Deadline Dates
CPS and CAP holders and approved candidates: Mark your calendars now for the 2006 Certification Seminar. The Marriott Rancho Las Palmas Resort will be the setting for top notch educational sessions, valuable networking opportunities, a special reception for members of The Academy, with the beautiful San Jacinto Mountains in the background.
The Certification Seminar historically awards 12-15 recertification points; CPS and CAP holders are required to recertify by gaining 90 points every five years. For the CPS or CAP holder attending the Certification Seminar every year, that is 60-75 of the required 90 points.
Great speakers are lined up to provide timely and interesting educational sessions. Topics/Sessions will include different approaches to the following: Diversity (age, gender, ethnicity); Project Management (streamlining chaos; de-clutter your life); Integrity (do the right thing in the midst of chaos).
