Northeast Ohio LAN Meeting - September 23, 2006


Fowler Community Center - Hosted by Western Reserve Chapter
10:00 a.m. - Noon

8 chapters were represented. Information on the programs and events for the 2006-07 year was given. IAAP Headquarters has approved recertification points in the "elective category" for the quarterly NEOLAN meetings. Host chapter of the each LAN meeting will be responsible for applying for the recertification points for the LAN meeting. The 2007 meeting Host chapters were submitted. The 2007 NEOLAN Coordinator was chosen.

9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Keynote speaker was Leslie Yerkes, Catalyst Consulting Group, whose presentation was Changing Resistance Into UnderstandingLunch was served followed by a 2 hour LAN meeting/Chapter discussion session. Topics discussed covered Chapter programs, promoting IMPACT meetings, enhancing the membership experience and overcoming challenges. Dorr prizes were given away at the end of the day. A 1 hour leadership seminar was conducted by Ohio Division Board members.

Northeast Ohio LAN Meeting - May 20, 2006

The meeting was held at The Davey Institute in Kent, Ohio hosted by the Indian Trails Chapter. The meeting began at 10:00 a.m. with refreshments being served. 8 chapters were represented. Information on the programs and events for the remainder of the year was given. It was agreed that each NEOLAN chapter would donate $10.00 towards an ODAM Silent Auction item. IAAP Headquarters will be contacted to seek approval to gain recertification points in the "elective category" for the quarterly NEOLAN meetings.

Northeast Ohio LAN Meeting - January 28, 2006

The meeting was held at the First Christian Church in Canton, Ohio hosted by the CODI Chapter. The meeting began at 10:00 a.m. with refreshments being served.

Northeast Ohio LAN Meeting - September 17, 2005

This month's NEOLAN meeting was hosted by the Yo-Mah-O Chapter. There were 36 members in attendance. Chapters reported on their 2005-06 program highlights, the new LAN Co-ordinators - State and NEOLAN - were annouced, future NEOLAN host chapters were decided.

Second Annual Ohio Division Statewide LAN Meeting

The Second Annual Ohio Division Statewide LAN meeting was held on Saturday, September 3, 2005. The event was held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in beautiful Dublin, Ohio. Well attended by IAAP member, this program offered another excellent opportunity for Ohio Division members to network and grow professionally.

IAAP members will have an opportunity to network, share ideas and hear a dynamic speaker.

Northeast Ohio LAN Meeting - January 29, 2005

35 Northeast Ohio IAAP members attended the NEOLAN meeting hosted by the Medina County Chapter IAAP. The president of Medina County Chapter thanked eeryone for coming and introduced the Student Director at Walsh University, who discussed ways to turn certification into college credits. If all requirements for the CPS CAP test are completed, you could obtain 32 credits to start plus earn credits for life experience as well. An enrollee must be at least 23 to enter the program to earn a bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance or Marketing. Walsh has campuses in 4 different locations (Medina, Canton, Canfield, Akron) with classroom sizes that are small and accommodating. Individuals can enroll throughout the year and employers generally provide tuition assistance. Their MBA program is also offered at the Medina and Canfield campuses. An enrollee must hae 130 credit hours to graduate with a degree. Information was distributed about Walsh to attendees.

Chapter updates were given by Chapter representatives, Ohio Division and the Great Lakes District. News from IAAP headquarters was also shared. Ideas were discussed on how the Ohio Division Image Committee could help the chapters and other current issues.

Northeast Ohio LAN Meeting - May 21, 2005

The meeting was held at the offices of the Tuscarawas County Convention & Visitors Bureau at 124 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia, Ohio. The meeting will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. The Tuscora Chapter graciously volunteered to host us and will serve light refreshments.

Snowy weather postpones January 2005 LAN Meeting

The January 22, 2005 NEOLAN meeting has been rescheduled for Saturday, January 29, 2005due to severe winter weather that moved over through our area. The meeting will held be in the same location and at the same time.

First Ever Statewide LAN Meeting - October 23, 2004

The first ever Statewide LAN meeting was held on Saturday, October 23, 2004 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Dublin, Ohio. 102 members were in attendance. Janis Hittle CPS CAP, Bev Puelo CPS and Mary Jo Cline CPS CAP attended from Indian Trails Chapter. The LAN meeting began at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Division update, lunch, and a program in the afternoon conducted by Dr. Robin Menschenfreund entitled Life as a Leader. Dr. Menschenfreund is Vice President for Academic and Student Services at Zane State College. She has 27 years experience in new program development, strategic planning, continuous quality improvement and enhancing use of technology for learning and leadership projects. The meeting concluded at 4 p.m. Through the efforts of Ohio Division IAAP members, sponsors for the event were obtained from businesses throughout Ohio which enabled the event and lunch to be free of charge to members in attendance.


Northeast Ohio LAN Meeting - September 25, 2004

Our local LAN meeting took place on Saturday, September 25, 2004 at the University of Akron Wayne General College in room C-206 at 1901 Smucker Road, Orrville, OH with the Wayne County Chapter hosting the meeting. The meeting began at 10:00 a.m. Refreshments were served. Janis Hittle CPS CAP, Susan Straub CPS CAP, Mary Jo Cline CPS CAP and Gina Kelling attended the meeting. All members are encouraged to attend this meeting. LAN meetings are an excellent opportunity during the year to share. Make plans to join the meeting and voice your opinions and ask questions. Catch the IAAP fever!
