December 3, 2005
Dear Administration:
Please accept my letter of application
for a position of Spanish teacher. I am 33-years-old and I will be available to
begin a full-time position in December 2005. With my major in Spanish and
secondary teaching certificate, through Eastern Illinois University, I am
particularly interested in utilizing my skills and knowledge in a secondary
setting.
My student teaching experience at
Mattoon High School has enabled me to develop a special rapport with the age
group that I enjoy most: high school students. I believe that education is the key to
success for young students. As a teacher, I hope to motivate students in
ascertaining their inner strengths and abilities and discovering what truly
inspires them. I aim to provide a stimulating learning environment that
encourages students to trust their own opinions, while fostering confidence in
order for students to realize their full potential.
Through
my teaching experience thus far I have found the method of facilitating rather
than dictating to be a highly beneficial style of teaching. I have learned that
if students construct their own learning experiences they will not only retain
information longer, but they will also become more confident in their
abilities. Being devoted to this assertion confirms that I have made the right
career choice for myself. I love working with children and will continue to
strive to be a positive influence in their lives.
I am especially interested in a school
district that has demonstrated a commitment to quality education, as evidenced
by the favorable student/faculty ratio and state-of-the-art classroom
technology and that provides ongoing support programs for their teachers and
students. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you regarding a
Spanish position. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Tether
A. Campbell
