Part Four: The Enchantment

"The Sealing Enchantement has many properties that are useful for this type of charmed crystal, one of which is disguise."

The nap had been pleasent. The wake-up call hadn't.

Harry nealy fell off the bed when the alarm suddenly started going off. Draco laughed and Harry glarred at him, trying to find his glasses. Unable to sleep, Draco had gotten up and was writing his report.

"Couldn't sleep?" Harry asked around a yawn, dropping to the floor in front of his lover. Draco shook his head and pulled Harry into an embrace.

"I did finish my report, though." He held the much too long scroll up for Harry's inspection. Harry blinked the sleep out of his eyes and read over it. It surpassed the minimum by a full foot and Harry was actually surprised, because it made his boring life seem mildly interesting.

"Wow. And you even managed to keep a low profile on the Voldermort deal. I'm impressed." Harry commented, handing it back.

"Well you're more than a You-Know-Who deal after all."

"You really can call him by his name, it doesn't call demons or anything, you know." Harry told him distractedly, locating a bottle of water and the Enchantment's assignment. Draco moved over to the still undisturbed crystal and located his wand. "Don't you want to hear the instructions?" Harry asked when Draco pointed the tip of his wand into the cauldron.

"I've already memorized them."

"You've managed to memorize an enchantment, and write a full report in forty-five minutes?" Harry asked incredulously.

"You're the one that said I needed to get up and do things." Draco reminded him pointedly.

"I didn't mean everything!" Harry might have considered pushing the playful argument, but the crystal was beginning to glow so he guessed he had better start.

"You close the crystal with the enchantment of closure...Closensen shi." Harry repeated the enchantment and his black crystal turned a brillient shade of white, Draco's casting a bright pink light across his face. When Draco said nothing more, Harry tipped his head and whistled.

"Is that all?"

"That's the only thing that's pressing, yes. Now the fun part, we can take as long as we like." The fun part turned out to be 'disguising' the charm as a peice of jewlery by way of a transformation enchantment. However, Harry decided that enough was enough for one day and started dinner, Draco crawling through the little hole to take a two minute shower.

Harry admired his finished product carefully, running his finger over its once again black surface. He had shaped the crystal into a long oblisk, the figure of a dragon curling around it by way of a clasp, it's eyes a brilliant emerald, each scale meticulously detailed but remaining silver in color, it's delicate wings stretching out as if the dragon were balancing itself.

Draco's was likewise complete and much more simple, but curiously beautiful. His deep green crystal had been shaped into a octagon clasped with a simply designed, but intricately detailed talon clutching the hilt of a bejewled sword that ran down the back of the crystal.

"It's lovely." Harry told him with a smile.

"Not half as intricate as yours."

"But lovely nonetheless...I guess were out of legitimate things to do...but luckily were also out of time." Harry ran his finger down the wall tracing his odd marks. "About a week until Vernon lets us out...but we should start paking up now incase he decides to open the door early. That could be bad." Draco agreed, and reluctantly placed his ammulet into the little ornate box, carefully curling the silver chain around it and making sure it was pillowed firmly against the silk cushion. Harry had done likewise, slowly closing the box's clasp and wrapping it in cloth before placing it back in the small chest with the instructions, cauldrons, burners and viles. Twenty minutes later found the room packed up, chests locked, owls secure in their cages and Draco and Harry sitting quietly on the bed.

"I can't say I'm going to miss this damnable closet, but this summer hasn't been that bad at all." Draco said quietly, tucking his hand into Harry's. "I don't know what were going to do for a week...but...I almost wish it was longer." Harry smiled sadly and agreed with his lover.

"There is a certain attraction to staying here with you for the rest of our life, but you look better in sunlight." Draco laughed and crawled into Harry's lap. "Draco...I don't really want to ask this but...what are we?" Harry asked quietly, leaning back against the wall and running his hand over Draco's back.

"What are we? Human I suppose."

"Draco...that's not what I mean. I mean...what are we? Casual lovers? Friends with benifits? Two sexually frustrated boys that just happened to get locked in a closet together for three months...?" Draco laughed softly and placed a finger over Harry's lips.

"Harry Potter, sexually frusterated? And you being 'far from a virgin'?" He was smiling coyly, eyes twinkling. "I'm lost to you, Harry. I am to you what ever you need me to be...even sexually frustrated if that's how you wish to explain this summer to your friends." He seemed mildly distressed by the thought, but was obviously willing to except it. "I want more than anything to be your lover Harry; your friend. I want to be able to public tell the world where my heart lies...but I don't think they would except it. Not just yet."

"What do you suppose we do about it? I can't go back to treating you like I did before."

"You don't really have to. It's not uncommon for two people that have spent as much time together as we have to become closer; even if that means going from enemies to aquaintainces. All I'm saying is, we need to ease people into the mind set, and I think that would be best accomplished by just begrudgingly being friends and working up to being more than that."

"Alright, fair enough...can I still steal kisses when nobody's looking, though?" Draco laughed and in response, stretched his neck slightly and captured Harry's lips in a gentle kiss.

"As long as you give them back." Harry might have said more, but there was a sudden pounding on the door: two crashes like thunder. "What's that?" Harry's eyebrows drew together; his markers were correct, meaning Vernon was early.

"That was a two hour warning...but it's early..." Harry carefully dislodged Draco and moved over the the wall, calculating the marks with his eyes, lips moving silently. "No...a week...maybe the Weaslys are here...or coming?" His face had screwed up in confusion and more than a little distrust. "Well...I guess we'd better start cleaning up..." He had already long since put his black candles out so really the only thing to do was change back into the clothes they'd been waring when they were thrown into the closet and put out the rest of the candles.
