Firstly, I would like to thank my editor, Jennifer for going through and correcting my absolutly awful spelling. ^_^ This is just a short little tid-bit for all you wondering what the summer assignment was for. I was half asleep when I wrote it, so I'll probably change this part( most likely re-write the entire thing) When I do I'll post a notice in a later chapter so you can come back and read it if you like. Well that's about it for me!

Nine: The Test

"He's bloody doing it on purpose! Where the hell is he?"

Severus chuckled. "Who, Harry darling?"

"Remus, that dirty werewolf! He's purposefully staying away so I have to continue this bloody teaching misery!" Harry hissed.

"You just don't want to grade the tests." Severus pointed out.

"You're damn bloody right I don't want to grade the bloody tests!" Severus shook his head then laughed out right when Harry stopped dead in front of the door and refused to enter the great hall.

"Harry!" He exclaimed in exasperation "You know the material like that back of your hand...or rather, Draco Malfoy's backside, as I'm sure you know that better. Besides, I'll be putting in my two-cents every now and then if you make a large mistake and give someone a wrong grade...oh, come along!" Harry finally relented and stepped through the doors. "So...are you planning on speaking to Draco about what we discussed the other night?" Snape asked in an undertone. Harry continued looking straight, but his face darkened slightly.

"We're meeting for a...tutoring session tonight. I'll speak to him then." Harry said out of the corner of his mouth as he lowered himself to his chair. The entire school had remained after dinner to see the long awaited tests of the first summer assignment of its type. Dumbledore stood and quieted the crowd.

"As I'm sure you're all aware, we will be testing the current seventh year summer projects. Professor Potter and Professor Snape will be grading the projects, so enjoy the show.." Dumbledore sat and Harry and Severus stood grading papers in hand.

"Ms. Granger, Mr. Weasly?" Severus called, locating the pairs’ projects. Ron had turned an odd shade of white, while Hermione looked meek and anxious. As she walked up to the dais she seemed loose her normally confident stride. Hermione took her project cautiously and Ron simply stared at his for a long while before finally accepting it. "If you would please exchange projects and put them on." The pair did so and waited patiently for the commencement of the test. Harry lifted his wand and Severus followed suit. "Imperius." they called simultaneously. Both students stiffened. Severus peered at them, tipping his head to one side. "Ms.Granger, reach down and touch your toes." Severus ordered. Hermione got an odd look on her face, but she bent down and touched them anyway. Harry took note and Severus peered over the chart, pointing something out to the young professor before turning back to the students in front of him. "Mr. Weasly...tap your head, rub your stomach and jump in a circle."

"What? Why? No!" But he was doing it anyway, sputtering and screaming in fury while the student body laughed.

"Alright! Stop!" Severus smirked and Harry glared at him. They removed the curses.

"Well, though it was obviously not completed correctly, we did not expect them to be so. However, it seems you both put a substantial amount of effort into the project, therefore you both have received a B plus on the overall assignment." Severus told them, sending them back to their seats.

And so the evening went. Hermione and Ron's B plus was the highest grade by the end of the night.

"And finally, we come to Professor Potter and Mr. Malfoy's project." Harry passed his grading sheets off to the headmaster who had agreed to grade his project and waited for Draco to get to the dais.

"Well, here goes." Draco whispered out of the corner of his mouth, slipping Harry's dragon amulet over his head. Harry examined Draco's for a moment, before unclasping it and securing it around his neck. Draco waited with his eyes closed while the curse was cast.

"Imperius!" Severus stumbled backwards as Draco and Harry were both enveloped in spheres of brilliant colors, Draco's eyes snapped open and he sucked his breath in sharply, vaguely aware that Harry was in a similar position. The sphere dropped suddenly and both boys dropped to their knees. The school had fallen under an intense hush and all teachers looked absolutely shocked. Harry carefully pulled himself to his feet and hauled Draco up after him. The more slender blonde was leaning against Harry heavily, his breath coming in sharp shallow gasps.

"I think we've just passed." Harry whispered. "Are you alright, Draco?" The blonde nodded and pushed himself away from his support.

"I'm fine /professor/ Potter." He sneered, straightening his robes.

"You have definitely passed." Severus told them, still breathing hard from shock. Draco took the praise graciously and relocated his seat. Feeling a bit light-headed, Harry found his own and allowed Severus to continue speaking. "That was all the test. As you can see, the purpose of this enchanted charmed potion is to repel certain curses, spells, potions and poisons. It's called the Daragarous amulet and as you have seen it prepared properly, I'll not explain its reaction to the curses. However, the colors change. When hit with an Unforgivable curse, the shield is multi-colored, when interacting with a potion or poison, it is purple and lastly when in contact with a harmful or impairing spell it is orange. It is now getting quite late. I would like to thank you all for your attendance and wish you a fond goodnight." Severus said by way of dismissal.
