This is what direction my hair is going in now... shorter! (January 2001).

This is what color my hair is now!
(Dec. 1998!)

It didn't scan very true to the color but it's purple.
All of it.

Below is a picture of my hair

taken at a friend's house

that also didn't scan very

true to the actual color...

Here is the newest picture of my hair! Taken February 1999...

(The rest of) this information was current as of about February 1997.

The web seems to be a big advertisement of personal facts about people these days. So I will join the trend and tell you a little about myself.

(...me...)

To start with, my name is Emilie, as if you couldn't tell by seeing it elsewhere on these pages. It's pronounced the same as "Emily" (wow, I have a hard time typing that, it feels like a typo...) but it's the French spelling. No, I'm not French, in fact, I am a neat mixture of Swedish, Norweigan, Czech, Hungarian, and some other things I have forgotten. But my parents liked the French spelling better and wanted me to be unique, I suppose. I don't mind.

Right now, I am 20 years old and living in Greeley, Colorado. My parents and my sister still live in California, in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I spent the first eighteen and a half years of my life. I miss them a LOT. Don't even ask me how I got to Greeley, it's a long story. Ok, maybe I will tell you another time, if you really want to know. At any rate, I am here now. I had been planning on attending Aims Community College here in Greeley, but it got too expensive since I'm not a resident, so I am just working right now. Well, actually, I am not "just" working - I am also a Girl Scout Troop Leader for Girl Scout troop 511 here in Greeley. I love it! My favorite activity we've done so far is the "holiday lights" parade that Greeley puts on once a year - my girls walked through the parade carrying flashlights covered on the end with cellophane, and a banner that had our troop name and some pictures on it which was surrounded by Christmas lights. Also, periodically they would stop and do a little dance and song about being in Girl Scouts, to everyone's amusement in the crowd; they handed out candies to younger children in the crowd as well.

My job is kind of neat, actually. I do technical support for HP printers, and I help people fix all the nasty problems those machines cause. (And those that the people cause with their machines, too...!)

Last March, I decided to be daring and I dyed a portion of my hair blue, but I had to bleach it before dying since my hair is normally kind of brownish, and at one point, the dyed part was fading to a turquoise that a QC (quality control) person at my work said resembled one of the new colors out for cars these days. She asked me after telling me this if she could cut some of my hair off, and tape it to her car, and then drive her car to the dealer and tell them to match the color. I refused. This same QC (her name is Michelle) started several people calling me "Blue", and I actually think it's a neat nickname. To the left is a picture of me with my faded blue streak (from July 1996) ... this picture was taken at a TREX picnic.

Anyway, a few months ago, I tried to dye ALL of my hair blue, when I was redying my streak, as I have had to twice since dying it originally. Well, the streak came out a really neat blue/purple/indigo color, since I mixed blue and purple to do it, but the rest of my hair faded to a nasty greenish brown after a few days, so about 4 days later, I dyed the remainder of my hair black.

Now I have a picture I drew of this, and also an actual photograph of me in my bad-ass goth phase...

Wow, it's been forever since I edited this. Last December, I went and tried to have my hair "professionally" dyed, to make it all as close to one color as possible. It came out with much of it black, and some dark auburn streaks, and a stupid greenish bit that used to be my blue streak. How annoying. Don't pay $130 to have your hair done, people. I have a picture sitting around of me with my hair like it is now, but I haven't scanned it yet, so you will have to live with a less recent picture for now, sorry.

I don't know what else to tell you about me right now, but if I think of anything I will let you know!
