The Niffler is a British beast. Fluffy, black, and long-snouted, this burrowing creature has a predilection for anything glittery. Nifflers are often kept by goblins to burrow deep into the earth for treasure. Though the Niffler is gentle and even affectionate, it can be destructive to belongings and should never be kept in a house. Nifflers live in lairs up to twenty feet below the surface and produce six to eight young in a litter.

    The purpose of the Niffler Awards is to make people aware of the fanfiction that's out there. Fanfics will be judged and awarded prizes. Not hard, eh? That's what we thought. The best way to learn about the process is to be part of the process, so submit a fic today!

    The Niffler, our trademark creature, shares quite a few traits with our judges. Our judges will be sniffing out good fanfiction (the treasure) and bringing it to the surface. We're cute little beasts, but we can get rather destructive at times. Aside from judging, we'll be giving you constructive criticism. We promise we won't tear your fic apart, but we might point out a few problem spots. We're usually gentle and affectionate.
