Submission Rules

1.     Your fic must be PG-13 or lower. The exception is with Horror submissions, in which case it can be R or lower.

2.     The maximum length your submission may be is 10 pages.

3.     Submit only one chapter, or as much as you can up to 10 pages. You may pick the first chapter or the most interesting. If you choose most interesting, you must also include an outline of what has happened so far.

4.     When submitting, send an attachment or link via email.

5.     A fic can be submitted into one of the following categories:

                    -The Marauder Years

                    -Action/Adventure

                    -Angst/Horror

                    -Romance

                    -Comedy

Once it is in one of those categories, it will be eligible to win any of the  awards within the said category (For example, if you submit a fic to Romance, you may with Harry with…as well as 2^nd overall in the Romance category.

6.     You may submit up to 2 fics in a category. Once they are in the competition for one category, that fic cannot be entered in a different category. You may submit different fics into different categories as long as each is only entered in one.

7.     Awards will be given out to 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place winners. You may win more than one 1^st place.

Judging

Judging will be done in separate stages. In the first stage, our judges (or Nifflers) will vote whether to “toss” or “sniff” your fic. If it is sniffed, it will move on with the judging. In stage two, three judges will be assigned to a fic. They will rate it out of 15. A perfect score from all three judges would lead to a score of 45. The top 5 stories in each category will advance.

In the third stage, five judges will score each fic. Amongst themselves, they will decide 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place winners for the category. Then the minor awards will be given out (ex. In The Marauder Years category, a fic might win the minor award of Hot!Sirius). In stage four, the winners to The Niffler Awards will be announced on the website. If or when the Awards start again, no previously winning fics will be accepted. Rejected fics may be resubmitted if corrections are made.

All judging will be done anonymously to the authors of the fics. You will not know who is judging you. They will be as fair as possible and unbiased in their decisions. Their final word is the final word-no exceptions!

How to Submit

Step 1: Read all of the rules.

Step 2: Decide which fic you want to submit (up to two!) in what category. Pick out the juiciest chapter (up to 10 pages) for us to read.

Step 3: Send that section and a basic outline of the other chapters to us!
