Faded tome(#8820)
The cover and binding of this small tome are both a weather-worn blue, faded
further upon every edge and crease. Its creamy parchment pages are clearly
yellowed at the edges, some bearing folds and tears at their corners. Faint
traces of silver that remain upon the front cover suggest a print that has all
but vanished under the owner's palm.

PAGE TWO:
A drawing.
Long, careful lines portray a small structure that nearly seems carved from the
crest of a mountain. The terrain about it is shown in what detail a careful -
but improvised - drawing may offer. The rock faces around it the structure seem
sheer, with a narrow path following a broken ridge downward. The modest tower
itself stands watch over a wide and barren plain unbroken by trees or hills...
or so the sketch shows.
PAGE THREE:
A map.
A maze of caves are detailed upon this page, from a bird's eye view, if birds
might see through earth and stone. Though no entrance is clearly marked upon
this diagram, unfinished pathways seem to lead beyond the edge of the page,
suggesting more to this series of caverns than has been documented hee. Where
grand halls might have been are mostly fair-sized chambers, networked to provide
space for many across several rooms, perhaps a suggestion of practicality and
necessity moreso than grandeur.

PAGE FOUR:
An excerpt.
"The waters are veiled by a fell vapor, and where the new Sun would shine is now
smoke. There are those who saw it pass from the Iron Mountains, and only rue it
more for its beginnings upon the winds from the east. We are in shadow."
PAGE FIVE:
A portrait.
A face looks out from this page with living eyes. He would seem young, one not
yet of adult age, though the lines show strong, squared features that would have
him seem curious among many the Firstborn. Upon the opposite page is a portrait
of equal detail, showing an elven woman with dark hair and pale eyes.
PAGE SIX:
An excerpt.
"We have been urged from the caves. I know not from whom the warning originates,
but there is trust among the elders. My Lord seems both confident and
ill-at-ease, though the latter would he hide from me.
He has the trust of many, in his knowledge of wood and wild, as well as the
hills and mountains. Whither he leads, even the most afeared shall follow, so I
believe. I suspect we shall seek to cross the wilds to far Sirion in the south."
PAGE SEVEN:
