Kage hopped up onto
the rail, sliding down on his feet, quickly passing Crash, with a quick
remark.
"rolling rolling rolling keep dat warhead rolling..."
Jeric was busy emptying the mavrick hunter's many different bank accounts. Considering that they pretty much took what they 'needed' anyway he figured might as well. "Rollin rollin rollin, keep that cashflow rollin. Nobody'll know this was stolen...hehehe."
Mai holstered one gun, "now that that's over with, I think I'll check on our other visitor." And with that, she ran down the direction he left.
"20 Percent
complete."
Jeric drummed his fingures in quiet irritation.
"25
Percent complete."
"God I hate this part...stupid slow
computers...grrr."
"30 Percent complete."
A voice spoke from
over one of Jeric's shoulders.
"Mmm... and who's payroll might that be,
sweetie?"
Kage jumped off the railing and dug his heels in at one of the stair cases landing, hands outstretched as the tumbling form of Crash finally came into view,he cracked his knuckles and braced himself for the impact.
"Well that depends, " Jeric smiles as he minimizes the window and brings both hands into view, "On how many guns that are pointed at my head, however as of right now I'm bleeding Zero's personal account. Not like he needs it considering he steals everything anyway."
Sine and Sandstar
are finally near the top, when they see Kage standing in the middle of the way.
"Um, dude, what are ya doing? The fighting is further up," Sine says,
standing behind him. Sandstar starts to tug on Sine's hair.
"Um,
Sine?"
"What is it, Sand?"
Sandstar points up to the falling Crash.
"I
see...."
They get ready to help Kage stop Crash by standing behind him and
bracing themselves.
"Oh, and Sand?"
"What?"
"Watch out for yer
explosives."
She leaned over and re-opened the window, then pressed a few more keys. "Well would you look at that... you made a typo, and 30 or so random, completely blameless Hunters just got a huge pay raise in addition to your own fund." He turned around and saw that she was apparently unarmed. She shrugged, "What? You wouldn't harm a helpless lady in cold blood, now would you?"
"No, however around this place going unarmed is very foolish and likely to shorten your life to about five minutes." He smiled as he turned from the screen to her completely, "However I know you're armed, only a fool would work for that...that...psycopath unarmed."
She shrugged and pulled out one of the cigarettes, "It's a risk either way. Got a light?"
After a moment
jeric's buster formed and, at extreamly low power, he touched the end of it to
the lady's coffen nail before it reformed to his hand. "Regular or menthol?"
"Transfer complete."
He glanced over to the computer and nodded,
"Hmm so what else to do to screw with that asshole's head while i'm
here?"
When he turned
back, he was staring down the barrel of a .45
"Who is more foolish? The fool,
or the fool who follows the fool? I suggest you leave, actually, before I decide
could get away with it."
Jeric smerked, "That's what I like in somebody. The ability to be subtle, however," as he rose his sabre ignighted between the gun barrle and his face before he kicked back, distroying the terminal he was at. "I'm not your enemy. The head honcho here is, however no word of mine will change your prespective on things. Just know that not all 'mavricks' are virilant, or psycotic."
She chuckled... obviously finding something VERY amusing about his statement, though her aim didn't waver. "Oh, I'm not the kind to join a side for beliefs. Commander Zero has his moments, but he's a more than competant fighter in his right mind, and I think I'd rather be on the winning side, thank you very much.
"No doubt on his abilities as a fighter, Sigma though...damn, can't he take a few fencing lessons or SOMETHING? the guy's all used up. Sheesh." Jeric's eyes again looked to the gun, "I can see you're not going to let me off the hook easily are you?"
"Well, it's not as though I want to be particularly linked to your accident any more than the others... I mean, if they traced those and I claimed the kill afterward, one might... get the wrong idea. I'm not just doing you favor by letting you escape, you know."
"Of course," He smiled ever so slightly, "By the way, I suggest you get somebody to clean up around here if you can. I've seen this place in better days and...well..." He runs off.
Flair waited
patiently oustide the door waiting for the dialogue to end. "Is this guy for
real?" She muttered.
When Jeric made a run for it she snatched him by the
neck and squeezed.
"Well well well, what do we have here?" She grinned
sadistically and increased the preussure. With her other hand she grabbed the
rest of him and held him in a bear hug.
jeric's trim colors shifted from purple to brown and, with little effort, he pulled his new attacher's arms apart and, while still holding onto both wrists, squeezed just enough for the point to get across that its best to let well enough alone. "I could break you in half right now." He looked, if anything, irritated. "But I'm no killer...not without provokation."
"You little
bastard!" She narrowed her eyes. "You're not stronger than me, no matter what
color you are!"
Before Jeric could react she pulled her arm back and
punched him good in the face. This time she wasn't holding back, building damage
be dammned.
One of his hands went to his face, "Mag nog, goo bshed mag nog!" he runs off.
Flair was too
bewildered to give chase.
"Is he just fakin' or what?"
The 'blood' on the floor from the hit gives indications that he wasn't.
Mai ran up, both guns in hand and out of breath. She turned to Flair, "I thought I heard a fight down here, what happened?"
Shadow was going down one of the halls, prepared for battle. Suddenly Jeric "rushes" past him (Hey, its from my point of view`). "Hmm, someone there?" Shadow thought and slowly went into the hall...
"Uh well.." Flair was embarassed that the maverick managed to get away. "A maverick got past me. He's a fast little bugger."
With his 'mission'
complete Jeric hid himself away while the 'blood' from his nose slowly stopped
dripping. After a few moments he started to relax a little.
"That...was
close...."
The armoured hulk
known as Crash finally headed towards the three, the two on either side of Kage
letting out a slight 'gulp' as he neared them, then the impact which nearly
slammed all three against the wall, but he was stopped, upsidedown but
stopped.
"...you should get a spike or something you can drive into the
ground when this happens"
I gotta start getting up earlier, and stayin' up later...
Crash let out a heavy breath, swung his legs to the left and rolled into and upright position. "I don't normally fall over, folks don't usually get close enough to smash into me...and live to talk about it. Now who the heck are you, and what's going on? Looks like Hell's broken loose in here!"
"it broke loose a
long time ago and if you look at that poster there on the wall you`ll see I`m
number one on that list"
Kage hopped back up onto the railing and slid
down,heading for the ground floor.
Crash had been scanning his databanks for Kage's face, and was finding nothing, but the poster sent up plenty of red flags in his head. He immediately flipped open his shoulder panels and launched the payload after Kage, then began to give chase. "Dammit, slow down, I'm not that fast!"
Jeric blinked as he
saw Crash chug by. "So they brought back THAT walking pile of bolts, damned,
they've gotta be desperate." Smiling slightly he cleared his throat and made the
next set of words out of his mouth sound as if they came from
Wily.
"Crashmanga, STOP!"
Mai patted her on the back, and offered her a cigarette, "It's okay, it looks like you scared him off before he could do much damage."
Kage stayed silent as explosions went on behind him,he got that a lot really. Finally reaching the first floor he decided to wait for the other two, leaning against the wall with his scythe out.
Back at Robot
Rescue, the Lab 14 crew continued their work on the anti-virus program. Because
Rock and ProtoX had been through a lot, they decided to leave them alone for a
while.
The two Light bots were down in the cafereria, looking at a small
sketch of what would be the blue print to X's structure. Ever since they lost
their baby brother, and Zero started turning Hunter Base into a living hell, the
two had been more emotional.
Robot Rescue can no longer decide who to
trust anymore. Half the cafeteria was commenting on convincing the President to
treat both sides secretly, but the other half insisted they just switch over
completely.
This frustrated ProtoX. He slammed his hands on the table,
startling Rock, got up and stormed off. Rock would've run after him, but knowing
how upset ProtoX is at the moment, decided to leave him alone.
ProtoX
wandered the streets, his white braid flying in the wind along with his yellow
scarf. He was slowly starting to think that he was no longer helping the right
side, but he tried to ignore it.
Flair took the
cigarette and lit it with her tongue before finishing it quickly.
She
exhaled, blowing the ashes away and gave Mai a closer look.
"So if you're
not human, what are you?" She asked abruptly.
She smiled, "Ya caught me," and pulled back one of her sleeves to show the generic armour shortly past her wrist. "I'm repliroid, just like you or him. Well, not just like, maybe. I don't have a buster or nuthin', just these babies. But it helps to catch people off-guard if they underestimate me. Many are also more trusting of a human."
Crash halted in his tracks. "A-buh?"
"He's too fast for you to catch like that," Jeric continued mimicing the Insane One's voice. "There are however those on the bottom floors that you CAN catch...and maim...and destroy...yes my creation, Go. Destroy." He started laughing, a good immitation of Wily's oft used insane cackle.
