" 'Cheat codes' eh? Well maybe we can use them too."

"We can't just pull them out of mid-air." Lynk reasoned. "And I don't think we'll find one in here."

"I know, but thanks to Shift here, we're not stuck in the game." Click pointed to his gauntlet.

"Are you serious?" Ping looked surprised, "You can get out of games with that? Then why don't we just leave now? This sector was evacuated, all there is is virii."

"Well, when I go through the game wall it kinda screws up my navigation so it's pretty risky, especially with passengers, and Lynk here has no choice but to stay, it's gaurdian protocal." Click explained.

"I can't let the user win." Lynk emphisized his point by impaling the blue bomber again.

"Wait.... Maybe it's not a cheat! Maybe there's an extra live and he keeps getting it!" Ping snapped his fingers.

"We can't risk it. But I tell you what we can do." The gaurdian raised his keytool. "Hindsight, pause!"

A wave of reality rippled through the air, freezing everything in place except for our heroes and the Virii.

"Should we get the others before we go?" Click asked, readying Shift.

Kilobyte removed himself from the wall he had slammed into and glared at Mac furiously.

"Normally I would repay such an act with a volley of painful blows but I have bigger fish to fry." Kilobyte said. "I shall deal with you lot later."

Kilobyte quickly skated off to a different area of the game.

Mac walked over, still hunched from the pain in his back and picked up his claymore, sheathing it on his back which only caused more pain.

"well don`t jus stand dere, after im!"

"Sheesh. I'm glad he's gone." Rox sighed with releif. Loudly. "Now to... oops. Forgot. Can't move. Heh heh..." Then he thought a momment, "Hey Mac, since WHEN do I owe you a fortune?"

Mac narrowed his eyes,"well whos money was it exactly dat ya bet to does guys eh...I didnae see you flush with cash..I`ll give ya a and so we cin git after im"

He walked over and wondered just how anything could move like that.

"why dun ya try jumping...cud work"

((hm, can I join? And if so, would I be allowed to have a second character? If you're wondering why I never asked until now, it's because I only just finished watching all of reboot... I missed seasons 3 & 4))

"Now there's a sight you don't see every day." Ping lightly tapped a met that was floating in midair. "Bloody shame I can't take the hat with me out of the game."

"Hey wait up!" He realized he was falling behind and ran to catch up with the guardian and admin.

Posted by Sanik on 11.04.2003 at 11:49 AM:

((Welcome aboard AX. I'll just get us out of the game first. And to answer your question : "Starting limit is 2 characters, PM me if you want more."))

Click and Lynk came upon the two others by portal, shortly followed by Ping. Click filled Rox and Mac in on their plan.

"I'm not sure where we'll end up, games tend to have networking tendancies, so we could find ourselves anywhere from some unknown system to the super computer," Click made hand gestures to emphasize his point, "Go through at your own risk." He finished. A white circle of static opened up in the middle of a wall, illuminating the moderator's face.

Everyone who went through went through, each in their own fashion. Before Click took his turn he noticed that his othetr portal he made in the game, while it was paused, hadn't disappeard. Hmm, he thought, I wonder... But there was no time left to contemplate that possibility, he was already on the other side.

ooc: Dis ride's gonna hurt boss

Posted by Author X on 11.04.2003 at 05:15 PM:

((No, no! My first char was going to start in the game! Eh, well, I can still work with this...))

Name: Kenneth Craft
Format: User/Hacker
Protocal: To figure out what the fuggin'ell is going on
Appearance: Human skin tone, brown hair, one of those "C:\DOS, C:\DOS\RUN, RUN\DOS\RUN" shirts, jeans, a stud earing in his left ear, and what looks like a silver gauntlet (Macro). Looks like a teen with a light build. His icon is on the gauntlet.
Personality: Nearly everything he does is just for the halibut, he doesn't really care about consequences, and he's pretty eager to try new stuff if he has no idea what'll happen. He tries to be friendly, but in the regular world he's just a complete geek.
Origin: 'Twas once before a monitor dreary, a hacker had an interesting theory, a self-insert of the truest kind, and devised a way to copy his mind, then into a game it would go, with a little tweaks he would bestow, a custom sprite unto "himself", like a cyborg, hero, or woodland elf, but then remembered his friend's game pak, and patched in an elaborate hack, so that with this odd new component, he'd now have a real opponent.

Er... which is to saw (spur of the moment inspirations aside)... he created an AI game sprite and downloaded his own memories and such into it, then made ROM of a friend's MM3 pak and hacked it in, so that he could have a real challenging (without being cheap) opponent. However, he didn't have any idea of the computer world inside the public computer he tested it on (would you risk your PC with this kind of program?), and didn't really expect it work anyway.
Equipment: Since he had no idea of exactly how the 'mini-me' would interface with the game, he gave it a macro to input controls. Naturally, this manifests itself as a silver gauntlet, 'Macro', which he can use to create commands. Only he can activate Macro, but anyone can execute the commands once created.
Abilities: None, really, besides creating commands with whatever parameters he knows of, and some pretty good (better than most, but not quite as good as, for instance, Mouse) hacking.
Other: Has NO idea how stuff works, or the terms sprites use

A red-and-grey clad sprite with his face completely covered ran through the frozen tunnels. "What the hell... did I lock it up before I even got to a protoman fight...?" He turned a corner and noticed the portal. "That's... more than a little odd..." He touched it tentatively, then stepped through.

Posted by Sanik on 11.04.2003 at 06:26 PM:

OCC: Right, what I was tring to imply that the portals are staying open because the game is paused. Thus leaving Kilobyte a way out. It works perfectly for Kenneth to use this same exit.

Posted by G24 on 11.04.2003 at 07:06 PM:

Kilobyte left his hiding place and followed behind the unknown figure. He didn't know what would happen when he stepped through the portal but he reasoned it to be better than being nullified. So he went through.

Name: Cache, alias Pixel
Format: Benign Virus
Protocal: To try and live his adopted life, without being caught and deleted by the guardians.
Appearance: When he's Pixel, he's a green-skinned sprite with a slightly lop-sided berret and a goatee. Also, blue pants and a jacket. When he's Cache, he looks like this but a smooth head instead of that dome-thing, all blue colour scheme, and not so many of those spike things.
Personality: A nice, outgoing guy. He likes to do all sorts of artwork, and tries not to get too hoity-toity. He's paranoid about guardians and keytools in particular, but never says why. Also avoids games whenever possible.
Origin: He doesn't remember the beginning, only that he landed in a system through a web portal. He didn't have any desire to destroy, but knew noone would believe him because he was a virus. He managed to escape the guardian cadet that was sent after him, and used his powers to hide for a while, until he found a discarded paint program and took up BMPs, which led him to create the wandering artist, Pixel. Now he wanders the net, selling his BMPs and WAVs and pretending to be a starving artist, while avoiding guardians.
Equipment: Brush, his paint program. It's like a less powerful version of the one Hex used in Painted Windows.
Abilities: Many of the ones MB had in My Two Bobs. For one, he's a Trojan Horse Virus. Unfortunately, he can't always hold up his disguises, especially if he's damage or shocked, and for some reason he can never hold it in a game. His disguise protects him from most scans, but a keytool will know there's a virus in the vicinity, and if he's personally scanned by one it will tell he's a virus. Also, he can drain energy from nearly anything. In fact, he has too. The only way he can restore his energy is by absorbing something else as a virus, so he has to drop his disguise and replenish his energy every now and then. Fortunately, it doesn't have to be a sprite or binome, it can even be a lamp-post or a mailbox. He can also do things like make an alias, or, if neccissary, infect something.
Other: If only this guy and Bob could have met eachother, ne? Laughing

Cache looked around the corner at the game cube. Lucky break. The moderator had almost caught him and apparently took him for some other virus that had been causing trouble. He sighed and changed back into Pixel's shape, and looked around to see if anyone saw him.

The group arrived at the gates of a large medieval castle. A huge golden insignia was above the doors; it was three triangles placed together, forming one big triangle with an upside-down triangle shaped hole. Inside the palace a stone held an intricate sword with that same insignia on it's purple-blue hilt. Click looked down and saw that his rebooted attire had changed. He was now some kind of zombie with a wooden face. When he tried to talk all that came out was-

"Uuuuugghghghhh.."

They were in another game, what were the chances of that?

Posted by William Dojinn on 14.04.2003 at 09:45 AM:

Ping looked down at himself to discover that he looked something like a cross between a bipedal pig and a bulldog. He hefted the large club in his left hand.

OOC: is it possible to DE boot?

Posted by Corvus on 14.04.2003 at 12:29 PM:

Mac was going to kick the ground before he realised he had no feet, his hand was also carrying a lantern with a purple flame.

"....aw bollucks!..not this one again.."

He looked around and sighed though it sounded more like cackling laughter.

Posted by Author X on 14.04.2003 at 03:46 PM:

Kenneth stumbled through the portal a few moments after everyone else, off-balance as the weight of his armour dissapeared. As well as the weight of his clothing. And his skin. And organs. Though he did have a sword and sheild. He looked down.
"I'm a Stalfos...? What happened to Protoman?"

((Oh, and no, I don't believe you can deboot. Think about it, if you install something on your computer, you sometimes have to reboot to update windows. Then, you can't un-update it, can you?))

Posted by William Dojinn on 15.04.2003 at 09:24 AM:

Ping only grunted in displeasure and pounded his club against the ground in agreement.

-I detest being a moblin....-

Posted by Sanik on 17.04.2003 at 09:27 AM:

((If we wanna "de-boot" so to speak, we'll have to win the game.))

Click moaned and faced north. A boy wearing a green tunic and hat, with pointy ears running towardsthem, a small daggar-looking sword in his hand.

Click just stood there, his wooden face betraying nothing.

Posted by William Dojinn on 18.04.2003 at 11:46 AM:

Ping growled iritably as he hefted the massive wooden club in his hands.

-I just pray this guy is new....-

He saw Link run right for him, then between his legs. Ping turned to avoid getting shot in the back and swung backwards with the butt end of his club.

Posted by Sanik on 22.04.2003 at 10:55 AM:

Link recovered all too quickly from the Moblin's strike and parried the next. Before he could riposte a blood curdling scream cut through the air, freezing the boy in place. Click moved to attack but he moved soooo sloooowwwlllyyyy...

"Moooooaaannnn.." Click actually said what he wanted to, for once.

Posted by Corvus on 22.04.2003 at 11:18 AM:

Mac flew over to the frozen boy and started to spin his lantern...spinning and spinning.

"grah where are da damn fl-OW!...jeez dat smarts.."

He threw the lantern down and held his head in pain.

Posted by Author X on 22.04.2003 at 05:20 PM:

Kenneth smirked and watched what he assumed to be regular game sprites, attacking Link but failing. Just as the player broke free, he ran forward and attacked. Slice, stab, parry, block... then the player rolled around slashed up through his back and he... went to peices. "Okay, maybe it's harder than it seems."

Posted by William Dojinn on 23.04.2003 at 05:43 AM:

Ping grunted at Click and smiled, or at least as much as his mouth would let him smile, before lumbering over to where Link ran off to.

Posted by William Dojinn on 03.05.2003 at 04:39 PM:

After waiting for a reasonable amount of time for whatever caused his emulator to unstick the user sighed and tried to close it. Realizing that his whole system was frozen he did what any respectable computer user would do. He hit the power button.

one...two...three...four...five...

After a slow five count he hit the button back again and waited for it to get through with its variouse system checkers.

Warning: 30 virus's found

Warning: 30 virus's foun

*groan*

OOC: what the hell am I supposed to do? the thread died on us.

Posted by Author X on 03.05.2003 at 05:58 PM:

(Um, the game froze because it was paused, remember? And also, I think we're in a different system now, since the portal took us from MM to Zelda)

Kenneth grabbed his pieces and stuck himself together again (a thoroughly unsettling experience), and went after Link also. He caught up almost immediately, but tried a different strategy this time. Duck, block, dodge, counter... and then, while Link was rebounding from his shield, he lunged forward and grabbed into the boy's pocket. He did the same thing a couple more times and had three fairies and a jar of milk before Link shattered him again.

Posted by William Dojinn on 03.05.2003 at 09:16 PM:

He saw a largish moblin leaning on its club clapping. It grunted and nodded to him in an approving manner as if to say 'nicely done.'

Posted by Sanik on 07.05.2003 at 10:54 AM:

Click finally made his way over to the user and pounced on him. The boy struggled, but click kept a death grip on him and stated slowly sucking the hearts right out of him.

Posted by William Dojinn on 08.05.2003 at 08:51 AM:

The next time the User popped up Ping was ready and waiting, well him and about a good half dozen game sprites. As the User flailed away at the game sprites Ping had circled behind and pounded the point home, which happened to be on link's head, that this game wasn't going to be easy.

Posted by Sanik on 09.05.2003 at 09:22 PM:

((What? You're telling me Link has multiple lives? Arg.. I hate to be a jerk, but I think you need to edit that post a wee bit, or I am grossly misinterpreting it, Will. We gotta stop messing around in games.))

Posted by Author X on 09.05.2003 at 09:33 PM:

((Well... since when have you been killed by a single redead attack? I'm pretty sure he meant when Link threw you off))

Posted by William Dojinn on 09.05.2003 at 10:20 PM:

OOC: sigh...ever heard of continuing?

Posted by Sanik on 09.05.2003 at 10:21 PM:

((Well, yeah, I didn't mean for him to die, it just seemed like it was... a ripple in time, you know?))

EDIT:
((No way man, continues? Remember, Reboot didn't use continues, I don't think we should either, bad idea. Once the user dies, he dies. Multiple lives are as deep as we go, and I think we should avoid those when we can.))

Posted by William Dojinn on 09.05.2003 at 10:25 PM:

ooc: ....sorry...was just going by how I play through with Zelda. i continue the game till i find a place _I_ want to stop at, not after getting killed.

((Well, how about this... in Majora's Mask, you get six bottles, right? Minus the four Kenneth stole, that leaves two bottles for fairies, or, if it's a strategic player, one more fairy and a green/blue potion))

Posted by William Dojinn on 10.05.2003 at 09:12 PM:

ooc: Do whatever you wish. the past few weeks have been....off...for me. I offer that only as an explination for my actions, I'll get back into things soon enough.

Ping blinked in supprize as he saw the farie revive link.

Oh shit!

He started retrieting as the User advanced on him

Posted by Author X on 10.05.2003 at 10:59 PM:

Kenneth, who had only just reassembled himself, started to get annoyed. He hurled his sheild at the User, which dinged him on the head, and ran over. And that made the last bottle... He started kicking Link before he could get up, and several more game sprites joined in.
Finally, a disembodied voice announced "Game Over" And the floor turned a bizzare, static purple and rose up around his feet.
"What the netu?"

Posted by William Dojinn on 10.05.2003 at 11:35 PM:

Ping saw the perplexed Kennith and sighed. Poor guy, first time through a game cube. While he thought the sprite's appearance was odd he'd been around enough to know beter than to stare. Slowly he looked around and streached.

"Everyone alright?"
