The climbers name is Ferry Widjaja, a native of Jakarta. He is degreed in Industrial Engineering and currently works for an International medical device company near Singapore.

There, he is a Senior Superintendent and is involved in many manufacturing and organizational projects as a team leader.

Mr. Widjaja has been practicing medium format and 35 mm photography for the last 10 years and has an avid eye for the outdoors and capturing Indonesia's beauty. He has traveled to the mountain range of Alps, and has climbed many other volcanoes in Java, Sumatra and outer islands of east Indonesia.

Volcanoes are Mr. Widjaja's main interest of research and documentary travel and plans climb many more of the interesting volcanoes of Indonesia.
