The Canadian Independent
Scouting Association

British Columbia Council

The CISA British Columbia Council was formed in 2008 as an alternative to other Scouting Associations in Canada. We carry out "Scouting" as designed by Robert Baden-Powell. The aim of the association is to promote good citizenship and ethics, along with mental and spiritual development; and training in outdoor pursuits, self-discipline, self-reliance, loyalty, and other useful skills.

The CISA British Columbia Council is an independent association, and is not affiliated with any other Canadian Scouting Associations.

The training scheme devised by B-P is based on using the natural desires of young people as a guide to the activities which will attract them. The appeal of true scouting has always been that element of the woodsman, Coureurs-de-Bois, and explorers which is part of our Canadian culture and history.

Scouting is, and always has been, an outdoor movement and that is part of its character. To whatever degree conditions may, at times, force us indoors such as bad weather or darkness, we must regard this as second best necessity and never as a satisfactory substitute for the real thing.

The CISA British Columbia Council currently operated two groups: 193rd Silver Creek and 3rd Colwood.
