FOR
Dubok - "Technicolor"
I will be reviewing "Technicolor" by Dubok. This is a free CD
given to me by a Tinman representative at the CrocShop show. I was also given a
single by this band for the song 'Clear Vision'. Other than these two pieces,
this band is also featured on the Tinman compilation 'Tinman 21'.
This music is definitely synthpop. I can foresee very good things for this band
in the future, given the right breaks. Right off the bat one notices a very
immediate dance club potential. Beats are very strong and vocals are good,
although a little 'harmonized'. There is serious CC synthpop potential here and
I am seriously considering adding several of the tracks to my personal play
list, such as track 2 and 8 being "Dense" and "There she is, she likes to ride"
respectively. Given the right exposure this is sure to catch on in a big way.
Very dance friendly and catchy.
The single for this CD for the track "Clear Vision" is very good and includes a
remix by Assemblage 23. As expected it is really good. This is a definite add to
the play list track, however not the only one.
Overall this is a great CD and single. Both are very worthy of serious
investigation. More information can apparently be found at www.dubok.net
although I have not been there yet myself. Keep your eye's peeled for this band,
it's not too hard to see great things emerging from them in the not so distant
future.
Both CD's a worthy buy.
