MUSIC REVIEW

FOR

Project Pitchfork - "Inferno"

Hey guys, I'm going to start posting reviews of the purchases I make so that all of those out there who are not sure of what to buy they can get a review - both good and bad.

My first review is for a band that has to rank as my favorite industrial band of all time - Project Pitchfork. Yes I realize that this makes be a fair bit biased but I will be as objective as I can.

"Inferno" represents the 26th release (including singles) from a band that has now put its foot in the door of becoming a legend.

For those not familiar with PP's previous work, they have several major city club hits dating back to '95 or so with a Front Line Assembly remix of "Renascence" and include other hits as "SteelRose" and "TimeKiller" as well as many other songs of lesser longevity.

"Inferno" represents another link in a chain moving away from high impact dance hits towards just damn good music. For the most part there are only one or two possible big dance hits on the entire CD, with the biggest (and the one being currently played) track 7's - "A Cell". This track has all the potential of being a huge club hit without being overly "dancy". What you find throughout the CD though is a strong set of rhythms that you cannot help but to nod to. The rhythms will in fact quickly draw you in. No doubt about it there is some good music there - just don't expect the huge dancy feel of "SteelRose" (at least until the remixes come pouring in).

Overall I rate this as an extremely good buy both as newcomers to PP and as old fans returning. The CD will become very addictive as you continue to listen and I'm sure many will be adding it to their favorites list.

Keep an eye out for some excellent remixes coming from this in the not so distant future.
