MUSIC REVIEW

FOR

The Young Gods - "Second Nature"

I will be reviewing "Second Nature" by The Young Gods.  This is a free CD given to WUMD.

This release signifies the first release from this band that I have personally come across since the days of 'skinflower'.  This is not like that release.  There are huge portions of this release that are experimental, in fact, much of the second half is.  Vocals swap from English - French and back again in a rather annoying way.  The vocals themselves have a lot to e desired.  Some of the tracks that aren't too bad are brought down by the vocal styles.

Overall, I don't rate this as a 'must have' unless you are into experimental music going back to the days of old puppy-scapes.  I found this CD hard to listen to all the way through in one shot.

The best tracks are : 1 - Lucidogen, 3 - Laisser Couler (le son), and 8 - The Sound In Your Eyes, with track 3 being the slower of the three.  Barring some serious remixes from some of the real industrial gods that be, there is not much material that has club potential on this CD.  Although, if you are into experimental music, this might work out well for you.
