FORGOTTEN FRIENDS
Some friends are quickly forgotten
AS others stick in memories
Things that happen that are too crazy to forget
And make you laugh just thinking about it
Nothing makes me happier than that
In my mind, friends are life-long
Crabby or kind,
Bitchy or calm,
Only friends belong
Beneath the surface
Inside my mind
Some wither and die
Reality of them
Ever destroyed
All because they weren't friends for long
Lasting friendship  is so hard to find
Loneliness does not ever consume
You always have friends
And if you don't, you're lying to yourself
Kids will be kids
Instead of adults
Developing memories
While having fun
Humble souls lose their edge
Outrageous pranks and mindless stunts
Memories we will all cherish
Only if we remember a name
Vacant areas in my mind
Erased because I can't remember names
Damn it to Hell
All I want to know's a name
Why can't I remember
Anyone at all
Youth slips away
Hanging me out to dry
Instead of helping my bloom
Sobriety of the soul
Recording of events
Erased and re-recorded
All is lost
Lost until remembered
Nothing can trigger it
As well as anything
Memories unlocked
Even though just one word was spoken
It had nothing to do with anything
So association comes into play
The memories flood back
You remember the names
Look them up
Even remember that special name that you alone called them
Recall that event in your life that made them special
Kept inside until unleased
Left alone until bugged
Erased until someone could read the spectrum left behind
Because everyone knows what to listen for
Even if it's deep inside
