JASON
Jason was a statue of a man
Cut from stone with imperfections
Jaw bulging while he smiles
Feet creep softly on floor tiles
As he makes his way to paradise
Found at the edge of his room
He creeps between the sheets
Trying to avoid the scare
He could cause to his wife
Jason falls asleep
As his wife begins to wake
In anticipation
Of the dreams that will wake
Her husband from his time
Of sleepless slumber
Jason's in a room with no furnishings
Small hole in the ceiling
He feels his feet bleeding
He feels the creeps crawling
The stinging of sharp incisors
From insects, from creatures
Obscene pain with no release
The bugs feel no remorse
Jason's eyes fling upward
Wary of the gap in the roof
Last night something came to visit
Would it be the same tonight
The dread begins to build
The sweat is puddling fast
The bugs begin to slide
Losing their grip on the clothes
As Jason loses grip on reality
Loses grip on his bowels
Jason's wife is ill-prepared
For the emptying of anus
It's happened twice before
But not in quite some time
What can she do
But wait for the awakening
She touches his head
So slick with sweat
It won't be long before he wakes
Jason saw the monstrous face
Followed by demonic body
And the scream stuck in his saliva
Which was draining down his throat
The thought of carnage coming
Brought vomit to his lips
The beastly thing before him
Unclasped hinged jaw
Spikes protruding from scarred fingers
Bones crackled in its teeth
As its silent screams
Brought terror to his sheen
The mammoth torso reeked of ashen flesh
Reflected in its blood-red eyes
Jason screamed
Lying in bed
Jason screamed
And wished he were dead
His wife stood back
Avoiding the attack
He'd suffer through
LIke he'd suffered
Many times before
Jason's breath was wasted
On a yell no one would hear
The demonic masterpiece
Looked down on him, no pity
The scorched breath penetrated
Leaving invisible marks
Across Jason's skin
The puddle of urine and sweat
Was overpowered by the pungent aroma
Of everything this thing had destroyed
As the blood dripped to the ground
From its mighty jaw
Its massive, carnivorous teeth
He refused to bleed
Reached deep into his mind
And made it disappear
Everything's clear
Jason woke with a start
Told his love it was all over now
She helped him to the shower
Helped him out of soiled robes
And knew it would stay away this time
Hoping it would stay away this time
Jason emerged, cleaner than he'd been
In quite some time
Returned to his room
Completely in the nude
Completely unprotected
What did he see
His wife waiting for him
Sleeping on the bed
Jason moved to her
And on closer inspection
Found that she was dead
He turned his head
To where he'd been in dreams
To see the hideous beast
It wasn't there
Jason examined his love for wounds
None seemed obvious
He'd heard no screams of pain or horror
So what had killed her
He had no explanation
Jason wouldn't sleep that night
Or any night for quite some time
Just when he thought he was safe
Something had replaced the horror
His nightmares were different now
Jason stood on the roof
Staring through a hole
Gazing at what lay below
A woman bound and gagged
Looking lost and dazed
He recognized the face
But couldn't place it
The wife who'd left him behind
Jason suddenly lost control
Dove onto the floor below
Blood dripped from his clenched jaw
Thorns ripped through his massive hands
He didn't feel like himself now
He gazed into his wife's surprised eyes
Covered his when he saw the reflection
He'd turned into the awfulness
He'd run so hard to avoid
His wife was crying now
Trying to say some desperate message
But all he heard were alien sounds
His ears refused to comprehend
As she refused to bleed
Jason bit deep and hard
Blood spurted from newly opened vein
This grisly scene would have no match
As his wife could not retract
Bit by bit, gnashed to pieces
Wife's screams only building louder
Until finally, ultimately, muted
Jason lies on the floor
And his wife's eyes are dry now
She's cried all she can
But she still sees
The pieces of a man she loved
Jason's dreams ended months later
Years of therapy ahead
And his wife, still dead
He thinks it's joy that killed
He thinks she knew the dreams were over
She'd have her husband back
Jason's wife had been gone ten years
When suddenly she reappears
At his new home's door
He invites her in, but still confused
She removes her coat and shoes
And says he's coming home
Jason couldn't understand
That she'd always had this planned
The gun was hidden in her jeans
The bullet avoided all careens
Landed squarely, softly, in his throat
Jason was thrown from the boat
She hoped that he would not float
She'd suffered through the beatings
She'd suffered through the misery
The death she faked so long ago
Easy to do on a TV show
But this is life
Jason's wife fought her demons
As she watched him hide from his
Only one victorious
Only one left grinning
She moved to a nicer life
Forgot she'd ever been Jason's wife
Made her money telling his nightmare
In many different forms
Jason was left below the ground
To rot wherever he was found
He had seemed so peaceful
But everyone knew the secrets
That he'd tried to hide
Just one day too long
Jason's living in his dream now
Constantly in fear of demons
Over and over, it happens again
Each days ends with him being eaten
Jason learned
That dreams can come true
And wishes can come back to haunt you
