Melt the wax and the Vaseline together and dissolve in the petrol. Pour this liquid into the 90 parts potassium chlorate and knead until all the potassium chlorate is intimately mixed. Allow the petrol to evaporate. Place this explosive in a cool and dry place. Avoid friction, shock, heat, anything to do with sulphur, and any phosphorus compounds. This explosive is best moulded into the desired shape and density of 1.3 grams in a cube and then dipped in wax to keep water proof. These block charges give the highest detonation velocity.
