Present at meeting:  Bob Peeks, Steve Kraft, Leo Ortiz, Neil Ehrenburg, Tom Gilpin, Gerard Roney, Carl Ketchum
 
1. Committee structure 
Still being filled.  Some positions have been filled:
 
Co-Chairs:  Robert Peeks, Steve Kraft (Bob may move to Correspondence Secretary.  We may need another co-chair to replace him)
Co-Treasurers: Dennis Wong, Tom Gilpin
Recording Secretary: Steve Kraft (May need a new Recording Secretary)
 
Other positions we need to fill:
-Correspondence/Initiations (Bob PPeeks possibly)
-Food
-Site/Facilities
-Recording Secretary (maybe)
-Decorating
-Service Project Lead (Depending oon service project needs)
 
(Several of these unfilled areas may require subcommittees, depending on the eventual size of the event)
 
2. Type of event.
Currently, we are planning on a barbecue picnic event, potentially at Vasona Lake.  Vasona being highly accessible, possessing good outdoor facilities, and a park that Gamma Beta has a long history of improving and maintaining.
 
3. Timing of event
Currently, we are planning on Spring, 2005 for the event.  We are time-constrained to hold any outdoor event this year, at least before bad weather sets in.  
 
4. Funding
We will need to encourage alumni donations.  Donations of time and materials would also be needed/useful.
 
5. Correspondence
Currently, each member of the current committee has been provided with a list of members that we have records for.  Each member will attempt to contact Gamma Beta alumni who were part of the chapter within the time frame that the individual committee member was active within the chapter.

Neil Ehrenburg, Tom Gilpin, Gerard Roney, Leo Ortiz--1970s
Steve Kraft-1980s
 
These members will report back on their progress at the next meeting
 
6. Database of chapter members/alumni
Currently, we have a list of approximately 150 names.  However, the accuracy of a lot of this contact information needs to be checked and updated.  We will discuss this issue further at the next meeting.
 
7. Should we compile a history of the chapter/members?
Probably.  We will discuss this further at the next meeting.  Doing this may involve another committee spot (historian) and subcommittee.
 
8. Do we want a memory book or other record of the event?
Yes.  We are reviewing options for this right now.  We may opt for a commemorative video.
 
9. Do we want to conduct a memorial for those members of Gamma Beta who are now deceased?
Probably.  We will discuss this further in future meetings.  We may invite spouses of deceased alumni to attend the anniversary event.
 
10.  Should we do a service project in conjunction with the event?
We will discuss this further at future meetings.  There is a lot of interest in doing so, but we need to understand contemporary liability and facilities issues surrounding doing something for either SJSU or Vasona.
 
11. Should we produce something to commemorate the 65th anniversary of Gamma Beta?
We will look into this.  Again, we need to better understand the liability and facilities issues of planting a tree, placing a plaque or creating some new/upgraded facility on campus at SJSU.
 
12. Tying in with SJSU all-Greek reunion on Saturday October 2.  
Needs to be discussed further.
 
13. Next meeting
Saturday, July 31 at Bob Peeks house (18542 Aspesi Drive, Saratoga--Just off Quito Road) starting at 10 AM.
