We could meet at the DC on Sunday, Feb 22 at 10:30. People who cannot meet there
could transport themselves to the community center. There is already enough
vehicles to take everyone who wants to go, but I will use my car if necessary.
By the way, who knows how to get there?

There is a MAXIMUM number of people that can go to this project. That magic
number is 8. Whichever 8 signed up first get first priority. Everyone else are
alternates.
Cheung, you can be the chair but seeing that the max number of people has been
reached...you can only oversee the completion and arrangement of this project
unless someone cannot make it.
Make sure everyone is still able to attend.
They limit the number of people that can volunteer to 8, we don't set the
number. SOOOOO yeah... there are the details. please take them into
consideration.
happy serving...

(yea, lets not try to triple post please. Even if it's important)
Woo, Numbah 7! I'll be sure to make it, so no worries.
The community center is on 6th and empire (3 blocks from my apt.) I'll be
walking and meeting y'all there. From campus, go north on 11th or 3rd street,
turn twords 6th and park near the center. Not hard to find.

To tell you the truth, I just wanted to get my jacket back. I left it there on
the 22 or 23 of November of 2004. I'll just get vounteer's names, transport
people, and search for my jacket. My jacket is a dark blue shiny sportcoat, Nike
brand. I will dissappear as soon as possible.

Ok, I made a mistake on the year 2004, when it should be 2003. We will still
meet at the DC at 10:30am on Sunday. By the way, the Yankees might win the World
Series, but do not bet on it.

This is a report on the Northside service project. It is also published in the
March newsletter.
On November 22, 2004, I left my blue Nike sport jacket at Northside Community
Center. After that day, I went on a quest to retrieve it. I called Phillip and
his big sibling to ask the folks from the center for my jacket. Mary went to the
building but was given no information on the item. I had no car at the time, so
I was dependant on others.
Fast-forward to February 22, 2004. I found the opportunity to chair a Northside
Community Center event. A lot of people signed up for this one, as these events
tend to be very popular. Katrina, Jeff-Scott, Curtis, Mike L., Roy, Kit,
Michelle E., Linh, Phillip and Roy all signed up. Vashti and I, Kenneth C., were
alternates. I called everybody except Roy and found that Michelle E. could not
attend and asked Linh to replace her. Kit could not attend either. This was ok
since there were a limited number of spots for Northside. Fellowship V.P. Andrea
reminded us repeatedly in the forum that the limit of volunteers was 8. Thus, it
would be fine with less people. In the end, 7 people showed up and we went to
work.
Once I got there, I asked the new lady in charge about my jacket. She said that
the building only keeps lost and found items for a week or so. If nobody claims
the item, then anyone can take the item. The manager theorized that my jacket
was in the possession of some elderly veteran. Oh well, at least my jacket made
someone happy. Thus I ended my quest.
Before lunchtime, we prepared tables in another room. This dining room had a
particularly fancy setup. It had purple and yellow napkins in cups and a mirror
centerpiece with candy on top. It was Easter meal for a Christian group who
appeared to have spent good money. We placed silverware in a carefully planned
manner at each seat and made some centerpieces.
When it was time for the guests to eat, we cleaned up and waited in a line to
serve meals to the seniors. There were a lot more people than usual, so we ran
out of original food. Lynch helped cut some vegetables as the kitchen prepared
more food. Just when we were cleaning up, more people came and we had to serve
them. It was so busy that we were tired from all the work. Even Curtis and
Jeff-Scott did not want to dance. We eventually sat at a table with a Led
Zepplin fan and enjoyed food made especially for seniors. Unfortunately, we
missed Roy.
