I submitted this poem to a poetry contest and it was chosen to be published in an anthology by the Live Poets Society.
Germination
When the blocks of life lend a helping hand,
All good children grow in a tranquil land.
Mother Nature becomes the same to them
From ancient seeds of innocence they stem,
The earth, the largest knowledgeable bin.
They drain radiant essence from the ground,
And channel it up to where it is bound.
It flows to the branches reaching the sky
Spreading wealth to the leaves, bringing them high.
They blossom to others to show their might
That endures in all weather, flood and blight.
As others admire its stem and leaves
Only realize to themselves it achieves.
