Things I do not like eat
Deep Fried Foods (includes french fries, hash browns, fried seafood, tempura,
chips, etc)
Why- On June 2002, a group of Swedish scientists released a report.
This study found that acrylamide causes cancer in mice. The scary part about
this is that acrylamide is found in high concentrations in french fries and
potato chips. The chemical reactions between the potatoes and oil in high
temperatures produce this carcinogenic substance. It was such a serious problem
that the World Health organization held an emergency meeting in Geneva. Critics
(especially Americans) say that there is not enough conclusive evidence to
support this claim. The restaurants still want to feed you this stuff because it
makes money. Also, American culture is addicted to fried goods, for it is the
nicotine of the fast foods. Another reason why deep fried foods are bad is the
fundamental fact that they are boiled in oil. If you eat a potato chip, it is
equivalent to drinking a teaspoon of oil (or in Mcdonald's case, cow fat). It is
disgusting to think about, which is why people do not think about it and savor
it. Also, this stuff is proven to make you fat if you too much of it. This is
also a good reason to go on a diet.
Jalapenos (or anything really spicy)
Why- Well, I have no scientific explanation for this, for jalapenos
are actually good for your health. I simply do not like the taste of them. It is
a vicious fruit that attacks the tongue and throat. The only way to suppress the
pain of consuming one is eating bread. Water actually spreads the pain rather
than neutralize it.
Raw Meat (anything that bleeds)
Why- Parasites and pathogens live everywhere in living organisms.
One way to make an organism safe to eat is by heating it at a high temperature.
Another way is by soaking it into a preservative like vinegar. I prefer the
former. This means I will not eat raw fish or bloody as hell steak. I do
not like to consume very chewy foods. I do not want to get sick. I do not want
parasites living in my body.
Shrimp
Why- I remember seeing a Nature program on PBS about life in the
sea. There were so many different types of creatures, like the sea tiger.
However, it ended with a carpet net sweeping the sea floor. The net picked up
everything from the bottom of the ocean up to the fisher boat. The reason why
the fishermen were sweeping everything off the floor was to catch shrimp.
They picked up a tone of creatures and only got a half a bucket of shrimp. All
the creatures that were brought up the boat died. After the fishermen got their
few dozen shrimp, they threw all the dead creatures back in the ocean. In order
to catch shrimp, the fishermen have to waste millions of times more biomass. It
is horribly inefficient and not worth the dead sea it brings.
