Analysis:

For those who just need to know what this is all about, this is a breakdown of all the cards opened in all the decks, tournament packs, and booster packs of the project. The “r” means rare and the “u” means uncommon, the “N/A” means “not applicable because Wizards of the Coast did not make any new gold cards after Stronghold. Looking at the list, I was surprised that Urza’s Saga, the set with the main artificer, did not give me any artifacts. Another surprising thing is that. Mercadian Masques gave me 3 artifacts, with 2 of them rare. None of the distribution was exactly even, but the most even distribution of cards came from Tempest. The worst distribution goes to Urza’s Saga with an unbelievable 10 duplicates; that is 20 cards! Keep in mind that I had to take a bus and bike to three different card stores to get all the supplies needed for this project in three different cities, and took me about four months to complete the list. The last part of the chart is the number of total cards per color I got. As you can see, I gained more green cards than any other color. I do not know why, so do not ask me. This number 60 for green gave the MANA CLASH Player 4 a greater choice of cards, which may have had an effect on its winning streak. Then again, Player 4 has an undefeated, solo streak, so it could be his adept ability. I cannot really come to any precise conclusion, so I will leave that up to the reader.

For those who are just dying to know which rares I got, here is a complete list:

Mirage: Lion’s Eye Diamond, Daring Apprentice, Kukemssa Pirates, Barreling Attack, Sidar Jibari

Tempest: Fevered Convulsions, Ertai’s Meddling, Time Warp, Crazed Armadon, Oracle en-Vec

Urza’s Saga: Yowgmoth’s Will, Imaginary Pet, Child of Gaea, Rune of Protection: Lands, Soul Sculptor

Mercadian Masques: Heart of Ramos, Skull of Ramos, Nether Spirit, Aerial Caravan, Clear the Land

Well, this is the end of the road. Thanks for reading my Project: FACE OFF report. If you want to know what is going to happen to me in the near future, I am probably going to retire Magic. I just do not have enough funds to support the never-ending supply of bookmarks WOTC keeps making people buy. I could do another project, but I cannot afford it. It has been a long five months’ work to complete this project, and I hope my effort was worth it to you. I did this in hopes of achieving a greater understanding in how we can deal with Magic cards, not just taking the rares and throwing away the commons. You could think that I am mad, but it takes guts and genius to start and support something that no one else has ever thought. If you are thinking of doing something like this, then call me and I will admit that I was not the only guy bold enough to attempt such a feat. Otherwise, let this report speak for me. I would like to end it with these famous last words, "Ach! Hans, run! It’s the Lhurgoyf!”
