We are a Swedish/Lihuanian family. I'm Ingrid (33 years old), married to Algirdas (35). We are a military family with 6 daughters *YUP* ages from 9 months to 16 years old. Britta is 8 years old, Anna will be 4 in February. Twin girls Kerstin and Lisa were born 22 April 2004. Our 2 stepdaughters are Ada and Ida. They are 16 and 12 years old. They live with their mother, but we see them on regular basis.
I am of Sami origin, but I was born in Vimmerby (Sweden), which happens to be the hometown of Astrid Lidgren, author of such novels as "Pippi Longstocking", "Karlson on the Roof" and "Ronja". I grew up surrounded with Astrid Lindgren's spirit, as a teenager I used to work in the Astrid Lindgren World one of the most magical places on the whole planet...Probably that's why all my (biological) daughters' names were taken from the "Children of the Noisy Village" novel by Astrid :))))
Now we live in beautiful Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania due to my husband's job and to the fact that he is Lithuanian. I enjoy Lithuania very much! People are very friendly here and very pro-family, too, which means tons to me as a mother of many children. The only question that annoys me is "Are you going to try for a boy?" :-P ... And you know what? We finally said YES to such questions! We officially started "trying for a boy" on Valentine's Day. Keep your fingers crossed!
I work full time as a mama and part time as a teacher. I thoroughly enjoy beeing a mother, but sometimes even mommy needs a break :) My hobbies are poetry, painting and yolking (I don't know how to spell it...). It is an ancient Northern-Swedish way of singing. But it is much more than singing, it is a way of living! I also love horses.
We will move to the Great Britain in the next year due to my husband's job. This site is my attempt of using English in practice and the test of what I already mastered and what I still have to work on :D
