1 One day, Ydaga, Naus and Oeesa climbed to the bottom of Fresagga.
2 "I am the greatest of the gods," sneered Naus, "I reached the bottom of Fressagga before any of you."
3 I do not doubt that is what you believe," said Ydaga, "But a quicker climber is hardly a show or power."
"And watching the other gods throw the seeds of life is?" Retorted Naus. Ydaga grew angry at this reference to his part in the creation of the lands.
4 "Then let us see who is the greatest," Growled Ydaga, " We will each create a magic, and Tust and Wuee will judge!"
5 And so it was. Oeesa, fairest and most nurturing of the lords and ladies of the sky, changed herself into a butterfly and flee up to one of the lower branches. Upon a leaf did she sit and an egg did she lay. Then she flew back down to the ground and was once again her radiant self.
A breath of air caught the leaf and it began to fall towards the ground. As it did, Oeesa began to chant and the leaf twinkled in the light and broke into one thousand pieces, and this was the magic of nature.
6 And Naus saw this and he sneered, and he dug into the earth and ripped a root from the ground. And Ydaga, who could hear even the breath of a fly, heard the scream of Fressagga, and he turned to face Naus.
7 And Naus was now chanting and black flames were licking the root and Ydaga saw this was not good.
And so Ydaga reached out to pull the root from Naus' hands and he too began to chant. And as he touched the root, a blue bolt of lightening shot from his forehead and as it touched the black flames, the magic of the mind was born.
8 And the root flew into the air and as the last breath of life was burnt from it, the magic of death was born.
9 And Tust and Whee saw all this, and Tust saw the magic of nature and he said;
"This is good. Now all who follow Oeesa can speak with the animals and the trees and the plants."
And Whee saw the magic of the minds and he said;
"This is good. Now all who follow Ydaga can use the power of thief minds to their full extent."
And both Tust and Whee saw the magic of death and together they said;
"This is evil and bad, yet it is the greatest of the magic’s, as it can cheat death and raise those who have fallen."
10 And so Naus ran across the lands, celebrating the fact he had one and Ydaga and Oeesa climbed to the uttermost brough of Fressagga.
Ydaga, Oeesa, Tust and Whee talked for great length about the magic of death.
"It must be destroyed or the world will suffer greatly," said Ydaga.
"But there is only one was too destroy it, and that would be to kill Naus," put forward Oeesa, "He is one of us, we cannot do that!"
"Well if we cannot destroy it, we must weaken it!" Cried Ydaga and he turned to Tust and asked him to fetch a halfling.
