Archaic Trust; confidence. I sat here and began to do my Bible reading for the day, and this was the third & fourth verse I came to and just had to stop. What is a "living hope?" I think this is sorta hard to figure out, myself. Probably not for you. But it caught my eye... When I read it I did a double take...got my attention. NUTSHELL: To maintain life with confidence or expectation of its fulfillment of my desires. And the verse says, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you. Hm, okay...I have an inheritance that will not rust, ruin, or fade...and is perfect in all aspects...and I am guaranteed this inheritance...its reserved for me...and best of all it's in heaven....where my Jesus is. What more could I ask for....or rather hope for? This is (or should be) the goal of each Christian....that is to be reached for....strive for this....just to finally reach and possess our inheritance. But wait.....I don't have to WORK for this....it's promised to me because Jesus loves me, and I desire this because I love Jesus. I live in assurance, knowing my inheritance waits on me.
