WHO I AM IN CHRIST

Galatians 4:28
And you brethren, like Isaac, are children of promise.
For understanding in context....
29. But as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now also. 30. But what does the Scripture say? "Cast out the bondwoman & her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be an heir with the son of the free woman." 31. So then, brethren, we are not children of a bondwoman, but of the free woman.

Children
Strong's: teknon tek'non
A child (as produced) daughter, son

This is self-explanatory. I am a child of God.

I was in slavery to sin/bondwoman before accepting Jesus as my Savior and giving my life to Him. For I was living in sin, and truthfully enjoying it...before understanding and even after having partial understanding of who He was. Well, truthfully...I only knew Bible stories, and that it said He loved us. I didn't really know/understand until I was 25....even then not understanding completely. So, having said that, I was a slave....a child of the bondwoman.

Promise
Strong's: epaggelia ep-ang-el-ee'-ah
Am announcement (for info.; assent/pledge; esp. a divine assurance of good); message; promise

Jamison Fasset commentary:
Not children after the flesh, but through promise "We are so," and ought to wish to continue so.

But, the moment I asked Jesus to be my Savior, I then became a child of the freewoman (Jesus, and His promises...God), COMPLETE in Him. It has taken me a while to realize and accept my "completeness", but I do now understand all the promises belong to me. For as a child of God......yes.....all the promises/divine assurances are for me. I have to let that sink in......in to my heart.

When I worry and/or doubt, and feel like I am not worthy,
that slanders every promise in Gods Word. That's what I have been doing.

God's Word is inspired by Himself...He does not lie...He gives His promises to His children...I am His child...His promises are for me also...therefore I must STOP DOUBTING!!!

I am free
I am no longer a slave to sin (I do not have to allow sin to control me-I must not allow it.)
I have authority over evil
I am a victorious person in Christ

My heart....it's reaching

I have confidence in...His faithfulness...His hearing my cries...His answering my prayers...His promises...Him.

Blessed beyond measure, Becky
