Economy
The Town of Inlet’s economic structure is primarily based on tourism. Some private enterprises exist such as logging and governmental positions, but most businesses are either directly or indirectly related to the tourism industry. The main attraction to our town is the beauty of its natural resources, the many lakes and streams teaming with wildlife, and the mountain trails with numerous state campsites nestled in wooded forests.

The largest tourist population visits the area during the summer months and during this period most businesses flourish. The fall foliage with its bright reds and gold make touring throughout the countryside very popular. Many stop off to visit and shop in the hamlet, thus providing a moderate income to businesses. Snowmobiling still shines as the most popular winter sport in the town, but cross-country skiing and snowshoeing have been growing rapidly. The spring, just like the flora, brings a new awakening as people return from their winter homes to open their summer places.

The area has seen recent growth with more retirees opting to make this their year round home. This has also spawned a need for growth in required services, such as snow plowing and construction.
