Spotlight:
Bij de volle uren voeg je na het getal “o’clock” toe: it’s one o’clock.
In het Engels telt men voor de uren gewoonlijk niet verder dan 12.
Om het onderscheid te maken tussen bv. 7 uur ’s morgens en 7 uur ’s avonds voegt men na het getal “a.m.”(=ante meridiem = voor de middag) of “p.m.”(=post meridiem = na de middag) toe.
Officiële of precieze tijdsaanduidingen worden ook zo gegeven: “The next train leaves
at
eleven-seventeen(11.17)”.

= 60 minutes 1 minute
= 60 seconds
