Butterfly
A man found a cocoon of a butterful. One day a small opening appeared.
He sat and watched the butterfly as it struggled to force its body through
that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared
as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further. So to
help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining
bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swallon
body and small shriveled wings. The man continued to watch because he
expected that at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be
able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened!
In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of it's life crawling around with a
swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that
the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get
through the tiny opening was God's way of forcing fluid from the body
of the butterfly into it's wings so that it could be ready for flight once it
achieved its freedom from the cocoon.
Somtimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed
us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us.
We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could
never fly!
I asked for strenght ... And God gave me difficulties to make me strong.
I asked God for wisdom ... And God gave me problems to solve.
I asked God for prosperity ... And God gave me Brain and Brawn to work.
I asked God for courage ... And God gave me Danger to overcome.
I asked God for love ... And God gave me Troubled people to help.
I asked God for favors ... And God gave me Opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted ...
I received everything I needed ...

Father I'm So Grateful

That you saw fit to wake me up this morning
I'm so grateful I was able to get out of my cozy little bed
Sausage, Eggs, Bread, Coffee gone straight to my head
I'm so grateful I was able to bow my head in
Silent Prayer and be thankful
I'm so grateful I was able to view your wonderous sun
To feel brother wind blow
I'm so grateful I was able to lay in my head in rest
Last night
Didn't have to fight
For a nook or a crack
Wasen't carrying my life in a sack
Yes I'm homeless in a shelter
Sure things could be better
But people let me tell ya
That it could be a whole lot worse!!!

A Silent Prayer

My Father, thank you for one more chance
As I look back with the quickest of a glance
My Father thank you for bringing me this far
All I ask for is the strenght and endurance
To continue on my right path
Which is Your Path of Truth, Faith, Wisdom, & Love
I don't want or need much, just Your Gentle Touch
And to always walk closer with Thee
To Bloom and Blossom and be what You Created me to be
Your child, a Woman, a giving, caring, sharing,
& Loving Soul
Father please keep me whole
I've always looked in all the wrong places
And left so many bad traces
Now I see, now I'm free
I just want to be what You Created me to be
