The Springfields
After spending a year as a Lana Sister, Dusty joined her brother Tom and his friend Tim Field in their new act. The Springfields - the name was chosen because it sounded American - had a rather eclectic sound, combining folk songs with rock'n'roll, Latin, and African sounds. Their most famous song was Silver Threads and Golden Needles. The group consisted of Tom Springfield (Dion O'Brien), Tim Field, and Dusty Springfield. Tim Field was later replaced by Mike Hurst.
