Who is Integrity-Memphis?
Integrity-Memphis is a group within the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of West Tennessee. We are the local chapter of the national Integrity organization. We engage in a ministry of worship, education, fellowship, advocacy, and service.
We invite everyone to attend our meetings and participate in our programs.
We welcome people from all faith traditions.
Integrity-Memphis provides a safe place for many people who feel excluded by other churches yet hunger for Christian community and fellowship. We focus on issues that affect the gay community, while emphasizing the place of God in our lives. We welcome gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and straight people to share in our ministry.
What do we do at our meetings?
Integrity meets on the third Tuesday of every month at Calvary Episcopal Church (an Integrity Partner) at 102 North Second Street on the corner of Second and Adams in downtown Memphis. These meetings are divided into three segments: worship, fellowship, and program. Our worship service begins at 6:30 p.m. and varies from Holy Eucharist to Evening Prayer to ecumenical service each month. Following the service, we gather for refreshments, followed by a hot meal. The fellowship we experience during this time helps us to share our lives and experiences.
Following the meal, we gather for our evening's program. These programs are extremely varied in content and style. The content runs the gamut of social and religious issues and gives us the opportunity to meet leaders from all walks of life who are supportive of our community. In addition to our monthly meetings, we also enjoy several parties during the year and an occasional retreat.
