Interpretation of Koran

Momin

Surah 2: Al-Bakrah

2: 1-3 – Allah the Wise and Knowing has said, "There is no doubt, vagueness or confusion in this Book. This Book shows the Mutaqeen the way which leads to the ultimate goal set for mankind. The Mutaqeen are those who strive to avoid the pitfalls of the wrong path, who believe in the invisible (which cannot be perceived by human mind alone, and what becomes comprehensible when viewed in the light of Koran) and are confident that the right path (described in Koran) will lead them to their ultimate destination, whatever the apparent circumstances might be.

In order to achieve this, they establish the System of Salat; the system in which all the humans obey only Allah's Laws, and after using only what they need for their necessities, they keep the remaining resources open for the nourishment of the needy.

2: 4 – The Mutakin believe in all what has been revealed to you (still preserved word by word in the Koran) and that which was revealed to the Anbia[1] who came before you (of whose Books none survive in their original form at present). Believing in the truth (in the Koran) means to believe in the facts which are confirmed by the historic evidence, that whenever Allah's System has been followed the same beneficial results have been achieved every time, namely: a blissful life free from worries. They (the Mutaqeen) believe that now, once again, adherence to the Code of Allah will bring about the same beneficial results and their struggles in the present will make the future bright and that this process of evolution will continue even after death.

2: 5 – The Mutaqeen are the blessed ones who live their lives according to the laws of Allah and whose struggles eventually are fruitful. Their wish is to follow the right path, holding off dangers which naturally occur in following the wrong path.

2: 6 – There is another kind of people, called the Kafireen, who see the right path but do not follow it because of their obstinacy, jealousy, conceit, and vested interests. Neither do they follow this path themselves, nor do they tell others of this path.  If or not the Kafireen are told about the disastrous results of following the wrong path, the result will always be the same. They never desire to adopt the right path.

2: 7 – The Kafireen lose the capacity to understand, as well as the protection from punishment  as a result of their  actions. Then, consequently, removing themselves from the actual joys of life, they head straight towards the Hell. Such pathetic is their reward, pathetic!

2: 8 – While the Mutaqeen and Kafireen accept or deny Truth openly, the Munafiqeen pay lip service at the sincerity of the Divine Code, the Law of Requital and life Hereafter, without actually believing in it.

2: 9 – They (the Mutaqeen) have adopted a two faced tactics towards Allah's System and deceive themselves by thinking that they are deceiving the Momineen who establish Allah's System. But if they were to ponder they would realize that they are deceiving only themselves.

2: 10 – This kind of life results in sickness of mind; and Allah's Law is that it keeps on increasing such a sickness. Their choice of wrong path then lead them into a maze of further lying and evasion. What a deceitful life they have to live in.

2: 11 – When they (the Munafiqeen) are asked not to spread mischief in the society, they defiantly reply, "Why? We only want to make peace!" Beware! They are, indeed, the ones who spread disorder.

2: 12 – It is amazing that these people do not realize it but they are indeed the mischief-makers.

2: 13 – When they (the Munafiqeen) are asked to also adopt and follow the Divine Laws as the Momineen do, their answer is, "They (the Momineen) are the simpleton who do not understand what they need. They discard the old ways that lead to success in the false hope of building an ideal society. We do not want to become simpleton like them" – Beware! It is these Munafiqeen who do not know what is truly beneficial to them and in reality they are the ones who are simpleton, because they do not understand that discarding permanent values of Koran for casual benefit is not an intelligent bargain.

2: 14-15 – So is the two-faced life of the Munafiqeen; that when they are with believers, they publicly say that they too believe in the same Truth, but when they are with their ring leaders, they say, "We are in fact with you. We only declare to be at their (Momineen’s) side for the sake of appearances. As a matter of fact we make fun of them by falsely appearing to be on their side" – If only they could realize that they taunt nobody but themselves! They are so drunk with their cleverness that the Munafiqeen allow themselves to be caught in the whirlpool of deceit.

2: 16 – These people consider themselves very clever because their dishonest ways bring them temporary worldly gains and they are satisfied with their profitable bargain – But in reality they have bargained for the wrong path. So this bargain cannot benefit them in the long run because following a wrong path can never lead to the ultimate destination prescribed for the humanity.

2: 17-18 – Going after casual and easy gains may be compared to a person, who in the dark night in a jungle lights up a torch to find the way and the fire brightens the surroundings momentarily but as soon as the fire extinguishes he find himself in total darkness. Alternatively, the flash of quick worldly gains initially dazzles the eyes like the fire in the wilderness. However, such brightness is driven out by the darkness of ignorance which makes one incapable of seeing, hearing or understanding. Then no way is left for that kind of person to find his way back to the right course.

2: 19-20 – Hypocrisy leads to some gains but these gains always come accompanied with losses; just like a cloud which brings life-giving rain but is also accompanied with darkness, thunder and lightning. The Munafiqeen wish to profit from the rainfall, but to save themselves from the destruction caused by the thunder and lightning, they put their fingers in their ears believing that they will not die (by the lightning) if they can in some way shut out the noises accompanying the storm. They are incapable of understanding that they cannot defend themselves from the lightning, simply by putting fingers in their ears.  This is Allah’s Law of Requital, which surrounds all those who deny the truth.

Lightning, though can sometimes show the way to a person lost in a dark, stormy night but it is not much use for him because it only shows him the way in flashes and every flash is followed by darkness, deeper than before. Same way is the human intelligence, which brightens the path for human beings only momentarily, unless it is accompanied with Divine Guidance. Only then human intelligence is capable of providing endless light to those who choose the right course.

The message of Allah is, "If We had wished, We could take away all means of gaining knowledge from the Munafiqeen (e.g. the ability of perception and hearing) so that they could not benefit from the means of nourishment provided by nature. But We did not do this. We have prescribed laws for everything in the universe and We do not interfere with these laws, even though We have the power to do so."

2: 21 – Allah wants you to hold fast to His Law. Allah is He who created you and your forefathers and has brought the human kind at their present state of evolution through several stages and the Koran’s way is the only way with which you can defend yourself against the hazards of this world.

2: 22 – Allah created this Universal System of "Rabobiyat" through which Allah brought the Earth into  a proper position for you and scattered several planets in the space which remain in their orbits (through gravitation). Allah also showered rain from the sky so that it could be the means of nourishment for you. All means of sustenance have been made available to you unearned, but remember, Allah alone is the owner of these means which you use. So, do not to let any humans become masters of these means. Because if you did that, then it would be "Shirk" (setting up rivals to Allah).

2: 23 – If after such clear evidence, you still doubt the truth of  this Book and do not follow this Book and it’s code of life, then there is an easy way to clear up the issue. Produce only one Surah like any Surah in this Book. If you are unable to achieve this on your own, ask several scholars in your society to produce just one Surah. Accept the challenge if what you say is true.

2: 24 – But if you cannot take up this challenge and for sure you can not, and you still continue with your opposition, all of you will fall in a hell of devastation. (This devastation may come to you in the form of a war, which will drag into its fire every human within. Or it may come to you in any other form like a baseless economical or political system. But for sure hell awaits all those who don’t follow Allah's Laws).

2: 25 – But, there’s no worry for those who believe in the Koranic Laws for they will lead a life of happiness in this world as well as in the Hereafter. In the society created by Momineen, as long as these followers of truth have the Koranic Laws as the foundation of their society, they will continue to flourish and will certainly have no disintegration (and disorder in the community).

2: 26 – Such a society is symbolically similar to a society of a prosperous garden; "Jannah", and We have used likeness of delicious fruits for the rewards of good deeds because the concepts of life in the hereafter can only be understood by examples of things from this life. So, Allah Almighty’s supremacy and greatness is not reduced if He explains to us with examples of small creatures such as a mosquito. There are those who believe in what has been revealed by Allah, who understand that it is the truth from Allah. Whereas the others who deny this, will find faults in these issues and question the motives for using them. It is not difficult to understand how different conclusions can be derived from the same things depending upon how one thinks and that how someone uses same things as the base for following either the right or wrong course. Those who choose to follow the wrong course, do so, because they do not want to live by the Laws given in the Koran.

2: 27 – These are the people who reject their duties which are set by the Allah’s law of Universal Rabobiyat thus breaking their bond from the Allah‘s System and thus are Kafireen. They will be held accountable for it. These are the people who base human relationships on racial or national distinctions for their own personal gains. These are the things, which create disorder in a society and ultimately lead to destruction.

2: 28 – (O Rasool, ask these kind of people), "How can you deny the Divine Laws when your own existence is an example of this law? No matter how you think, you will have to acknowledge that there was a time when there was no sign of a life on Earth and from this state (through evolution of ages) you were created. After you are dead life continues beyond death so that your achievements can be judged according to the Law of Mukafaat (Requital). You cannot avoid the Judgment which is based on this Law."

2: 29 – This Law has been decreed by Allah Almighty, Who created you and provided nourishment for you on Earth. All this is happening in accordance with the Laws of Allah, according to which, He has designed this Universe and created several heavenly bodies above it. Everything is running in harmony which is in conformity with Allah’s Laws, Who has the complete knowledge of the hidden strengths and requirements of everything.

2: 30-31 – Allah said to the malaika, "I will create a viceroy on earth." (The malaika were shocked because until then, there was no creature present who could dare to disobey the Divine Laws while man had freedom of choice to even disobey Allah!). The malaika asked, "O Allah! The creature you are settling on earth will cause mischief on earth and shed blood because he is capable of rebelling against your Laws. While we are always busy obediently carrying out the duties given to us and are committed to keeping the beauty and symmetry of Your System, intact."

(Allah) answered, "You do not know (the potential of this new creation, the man) but We know (about the maximum potential this creature is capable of)." (At that moment none of the creatures in the universe were capable of thinking neither did they have the knowledge how the universe worked while) Man was gifted with the capability to acquire knowledge of how other things in the universe operated. After the Angels came to know about this, they were asked, "Do you also posses such a potential?"

2: 32 – The Angels replied, "Your Plans truly are outside the limits of our senses. The knowledge with which we are created is the only knowledge we have and we do not have the capability to acquire any more. You have the complete knowledge of all Universe and only You know Your Plans."

2: 33 – (Then Allah) asked, "Adam show the malaika what you know," and when Adam[2] showed them how the universe worked (by utilizing malaika i.e. natural forces like gravitation, electricity, etc., Allah) asked, "Weren't you told that We know all about Our creations and creatures, which you cannot know. We also know how you are functioning at present and what your latent potentials are."

2: 34 – Hearing this, every malaika bowed down to Man, but Iblis[3].

2: 35 – And thus man took shelter on earth with their wives (and families). The needs of man were few and the resources for nourishment in Nature were abundant and free for all. Thus they lived united and had no mutual conflicts. And all this was possible because they did not approach to one thing, which is inequality which always results into chaos.

2: 36 – But man was overcome by his rebellious passions of self interests and selfishness, and he started living according to his (manmade) systems. This resulted in his straying away from the blissful life of unity he was living in. Consequently humanity was split into different breeds, tribes and nations with animosity among them and resources intended for the entire humanity went into the hands of the rich and powerful only. And the reality is that human beings have no place but earth with their livelihoods. So can they find out a way in which each person is benefited and there is no more fighting amongst men?

2: 37 – (For sure man can not find out such a way on his own.) Human reason can show man the way to safeguard individual self interest but it cannot tell him how to work for the safety and survival of the humanity as a whole. This is only possible by following Divine Code. And following this Divine Code is the sure way to get his previous blissful heavenly life back.

2: 38-39 – When man strayed from the heavenly life, he was told, "Do not despair. We will send you Our guidance (thorough Our Anbia) and then those who follow Our guidance will have no fear and sadness. On the other hand, those who reject Our guidance, destine themselves to a life of endless suffering, in this life and in the Hereafter.

2: 40 – (An example of this above mentioned Divine Law is the history of the Children of Israel.) O Children of Israel! "Remember that era of your history when you led your lives happily and without a care in the world because you followed Divine Laws. (And when) you stopped  following Divine Laws you suffered the resulting disgrace and humiliation but as promised if and when you go back to the right course, you will see that I will fulfill My promise of blessings. This demands that you dismiss any fear about ungodly forces (and systems) from your heart and only submit to My System of Laws, fearing the result of not obeying them.

2: 41 – (In order to achieve this,) You have to believe in this System of Laws (the Koran), that We have revealed. It confirms the promises made with you (in earlier revelations). Therefore you should have been the first to accept it, but on the contrary you are in lead of rejection, to get certain material advantages (like; false religious priesthood, money and status). Remember, the advantages you gain by the following the Divine Code would far exceed the ones you get presently by rejecting it. Hence, you must live in accordance with it.

2: 42 – (Those who conceal the truth they do it by) mixing the Divine Laws with self-made traditions, or confusing the truth with falsehood in such a manner that falsehood seems to be the truth; thus you knowingly hide the truth."

2: 43 – Establish System of Salat and keep open the means of nourishment for all humanity. (And by doing so) be one of those who submit to Divine Laws (i.e. Mutakeen).

2: 44 – (Some of) You ask others to be righteous and follow the Divine Code, while you neglect to practice this yourselves and yet (both of) you read (and understand) the Book of Allah. Just think hard, can Allah's Book teach you to follow such double standards?

2: 45-48 – Development of your potentialities and tuning your life to a true (Koranic) system is possible, only if, you adhere to the System of Salat with steadfastness and courage. Since you have become used to following easy ways of your self-made system, you will find the true path difficult (at first).

But if you keep in mind that you finally have to face Allah's Law of Requital, you will be able to overcome your selfish mental (and material) trends.

You need not to be told (again) the good results of following Divine Laws. You witnessed them personally. When you followed them, you were blessed with all the gains of life and were greatest amongst your fellow nations. Then when you gave up the right path, your respect for law and justice disappeared. But this state of affairs will not continue when the system (based on Koranic Laws) is established. After that, a time will come when no one will be able to benefit another in anything, nor shall any intercession of one for another be considered, nor shall any form of compensation be accepted for wrongdoings nor shall anyone be able to help the wrongdoer. This is true both in this world and the Hereafter.

2: 49 – And remember the time when you were saved from Pharaoh (ÝÑÚæä), who used to inflict tortures on  you, the worst of which was that he created divisions among you [28: 24]. And this he did by degrading those respected members of your community who had the courage and vision (to free you from Pharaoh’s slavery) and who posed a danger to him. At the same time he promoted those, among the Bani Israel’s own leaders (religious and business), who did not have the qualities of courage and vision. Consequently you as a nation became weaker and weaker. But when you submitted to the Divine Code, Allah delivered you from Pharaoh's clutches. This was a great blessing for your nation, from Allah.

2: 50 – And when you fled from Egypt and Pharaoh's army was chasing you, you found yourself trapped between Pharaoh's army and the sea. We showed you a way, from whence you escaped while the Pharaoh and his army all drowned. You all witnessed this with your own eyes.

2: 51 – And when Moses was called for forty nights (after reaching Mount Sinai) you started worshipping a calf and so rebelled against the Divine Code.

2: 52-53 – Even after this (rebellion) We did not abandon you. Instead, the ill-effects of your damaging acts were removed (after you promised to follow the Divine Code) and you were afforded another chance to reach up to your potential. We gave Moses a Divine Code which provided clear criteria for distinction between the truth and falsehood. This was given so that in its light you could safely reach your destination.

2: 54 – And when (Moses returned after the forty nights on Mount Sinai) Moses said, "O my people! By worshipping the calf you have harmed your own selves (thus falling below the level of humanity). Now you can only make amends by admitting your wrong doings and submitting back to the Divine Codes (with whole heartedness). This is the only way of benefiting from the Divine Code. As this is the characteristic of this Code that whosoever turns to it, is answered with loads of nourishing qualities."

2: 55 – (You were given the clear Divine Code to follow. Had you followed it, the result would have convinced you of its Divine origin and you would have recognized Allah through its workings) but you said to Moses "We are not prepared to accept anything you say until we see Allah with our own eyes." You asked to see Allah whence you were terrified just by the thundering noise of the earthquake [see 7: 155], even though you fully understood source of the noise.

2: 56 – Even after (such incidents) We reinstated you and provided you the opportunities to realize your potentials and you were freed from the dreadful affects of slavery, after which you lived your life as free human beings.

2: 57 – And (as a result) you attained an abundance of earthly commodities, unearned. In this desert you were shaded by heavy clouds and you ate delicious food – the meat of birds and Manna[4]. But even then you did not follow the Divine Code steadfastly. Remember, by this behavior you did not harm anybody but your own selves.

2: 58 – And (remember the time) when We said, "Enter this land and be able to use the means of nurture as you require provided you adhere to the Divine Code. This is how your life as homeless nation ended. Consequently, you were protected from the ill effects of the wrongs already committed by you.

2: 59 – But those who wanted a life of luxury and ease (instead of one of effort and discipline) deviated from the course prescribed by the Divine Code and followed their own heart. This resulted in their loss of strength and wastage of the hard work being already done (as a consequence, they couldn't take possession of the land, for forty years, which was pledged to them).

2: 60 – And (do you remember when you were faced with the scarcity of water and) Moses prayed for the water. (At that time) We directed him to the location where water springs laid concealed (under the rocks). Quarrying through the rocks and soil, you found twelve springs and one spring was allocated to each tribe. Now that your physical necessities were being fulfilled you were advised not to disintegrate your society through disorder and injustice.

2: 61 – And (how did you repay?) You said to Moses, "(In this desert life) we cannot eat the same kind of (wild) food daily. Ask your Sustainer that he gives us cultivated crops such as herbs, cucumber, garlic, corn, onion, etc."

Moses replied, "(Alas!) Do you prefer an inferior life to the superior one that is being offered to (as this life of the desert, in fact is a training ground for you and because of this, you will acquire military discipline, and its food is such that it will energize you and make you orderly. If such is the case) then go and live in a city where you will find what you desire."

The outcome of their preference was such that they strayed from being potentially strong and creative, and developed the qualities of subservience and laziness, which led to their disgrace and humiliation. This all happened because they refused to live their lives by the Divine Code, disgraced their anbia, and sometimes even killed them. This was a result of their rebellion against the Divine Code and of transgressing the limits prescribed by Allah.

2: 62 – You have a conceited belief that Heavens is reserved for your race only [5:18]. But Our Law is such that, irrespective of the race (and origin), anyone whether they are:

  1. Jews,
  2. Christians,
  3. Sabians,
  4. those who believe in Allah without formally adopting any particular religion,
  5. or those who are born Muslims,

whosoever believes in Allah, believes in the Day of Judgment [2: 137], and leads a life by the Divine Code, (only they) will lead a life of harmony (as promised) by Allah. They will have no fear and neither shall they grieve.

2: 63 – And (remember before this) when you were kept safe by being placed in a valley with sky-high mountains and you were given the Divine Code (for your guidance). And We told you to hold it (and to follow it) firmly, so that you are protected against dangers. And you promised Us this.

2: 64 –Then you turned away (from the promise which you had made). It was Our Law of Respite due to which you were not punished for your actions immediately. Otherwise, you would have been doomed immediately.

2: 65 And surely you know about those amongst you, who violated the law of Sabbath and as a result became despicable and despised.

2: 66 – This degeneration and misery serves as an example to all the peoples – your contemporaries and the generations after them – and is still a lesson to learn from, for all those who want to save themselves from destruction.

2: 67 – When Allah commanded you to sacrifice a calf so that your heart would be cleansed of the dedication to the calf. Conversely, you began ridiculing the order even though you understood that this was Allah's command given via Moses and that it is not a manner of a nabi to talk ignorantly.

2: 68 – (Then they started a hair-splitting discussion, when) they said, "Ask Allah to tell us clearly, what kind of calf it is (which is to be sacrificed)?" Moses replied, "(Allah says that) the calf should neither be too young nor too old but (should be) of mature age and you should carry out the order without any more doubts."

2: 69 – They said, "(It is still not clear to us,) ask your Lord to tell us what the color of the calf should be." They were told, "It should be of a deep yellow color (which is) pleasing to the onlooker’s eyes."

2: 70 – (And they continued the mockery when) they said, "Ask your Lord to elaborate further. All the cows look alike to us. And then (when Allah elaborates to us the specification of the cow) we will act according to Allah’s will."

2: 71 – They were told, "The calf should never have been used for plowing the land or for drawing water (and watering crops and) without any scars." They said, "Now you have clarified the matter." (And as a result) they slaughtered the calf (which they worshipped), even through (still) they didn’t intend to.

2: 72 – And (then) you killed a man and blamed one another (for the murder). (But) Allah was going to expose (the murderer and the truth) which you were hiding (because no crime should go unpunished).

2: 73 – We said, "Strike (the suspected) with the part (of the slaughtered calf)." (And when the murderer was brought in to be struck (or touched) by a part of calf's body, his anxiety and apprehensive behavior gave him away, thus Allah brought the murderer to light. Allah has shown you (that you should use your intellect and insight into solving such problems) so that you may understand.

2: 74 – Despite this, (after sometime) you turned away from Divine Code, which hardened your hearts like rocks or even harder. For there are (some) rocks from which springs gush out, while some rocks (and stones) are (smoothened and) softened under the pressure of (flowing) water in the rivers, in their duty to Allah. Allah is never unaware of anything you do (and those who commit crimes will always get punished).

2: 75 – Do you think that such people [2: 74] will believe (and follow Divine Code) as you do? There is a group (of religious leaders) amongst them, who understand Allah’s words and then change them (or interpret them in a way that their real meaning is distorted). And (even though) they know that (this is wrong).

2: 76 – And when these people are with the people who believe, they show that they believe (in the same things and fulfill their duties just as same). But when they are together with each other, they say, "Do be cautious (in front of the true believers that) when you talk to them, you do not tell them the true meanings of Allah’s word?" Do you understand now (of these peoples’ true intents)?

2: 77 – Don't they realize that Allah knows everything they hide and everything they disclose?

2: 78 – And among these group of (religious) people are the ignorant, who do not understand the (true meaning of the laws in the) Book, but only know the hearsays (conjured upon by their forerunner religious people or those who really understood the Book) and (this new breed) assumes that it is the truth.

2: 79 – Then those, who distort the actual words of Allah with their hands say, "This is what Allah meant" – just for a material gains. (And) this practice and the earns will bring misery to them (and their people).

2: 80 – And they solace (themselves by thinking), "(No matter what we do) we will not spend more than a short time in Hell?" Ask them, "Have you received a promise from Allah – as Allah never breaks His promise – or are you saying this about Allah, without any proof (to authenticate it)?"

2: 81 – Fore sure, those who commit crimes and sins, and engulf their entire society in this form of behavior, will upshot in a life in hell (of disaster), with no way out (both in this world and Hereafter) forever.

2: 82 – As for those who believe and practice Koranic Laws [see 2: 5], they will live a heavenly life (both here and Hereafter) forever.

2: 83 – And We took the oath from children of Israel, “You shall not follow anyone other than Allah, treat your parents well, and also help your relatives, orphans and the needy. Your conduct with the common people should be a respectful one and encourage them to do good deeds. (And also) establish (systems of) Salat, and Zakat."

But (then after all these promises and oaths and the treasures this brought to you,) you turned away (from this) except for a few (amongst you) and you still are (carrying on with these destructive behaviors, when there is no need for them, as you now know what is right and what is not and whatever you have been taught is wrong).

2: 84 – We also took the oath from you that you will not (fight and) shed blood amongst you and you will not throw out your people from your cities (and homes for whatever the reason, may that be financial or else). You understood all this, after that you have witnessed (the gains of such a system and realized its benefits).

2: 85 – Yet you (changed the laws to such an extent which) encouraged the killings of each other (and other crimes) and then (coming up with the laws to) kicking out (a number of) people from their own homes (and you are throwing them out of their homes, even if it is) unlawful and malicious (in your own laws). And when these (homeless people) were taken as captives (or were like prisoners who could not do anything for their own good) you secured their release by paying their ransom (or by giving them charity to survive barely and then thinking that you have done a very ethical thing when causing the eviction or) evicting them was prohibited to you in the first place. Do you (want to) believe in (one) part of the laws (which in someway is beneficial to you) and disbelieve (other) parts? What else can these types of people achieve except for a destruction (of the society or country) in this world and a far worse punishment on the Day of Judgment? Allah is aware of everything you do (and everyone will receive the respective punishments of their crimes, both in this world and Hereafter. And no crime remains hidden forever).

2: 86 – It is these (people) who have bought a degrading life (of short term benefits) for a future life (of a better long term benefits to everyone in this world and Hereafter). With the passage of time, the condition of these people is (just) worsened, (until to such a worsened condition that) no one can rescue them (from this devastation).

2: 87 – And We gave Moses the Book of Laws and after him we sent one rasool after another, until Jesus (ÚíÓì), son of Mary (ãÑíã) (who was) supported by solid arguments (and reasoning), and (further) strengthened by rooh-ul-kodos (ÑæÍ ÇáÞÏÓ). Isn't it a fact that whenever a rasool opposed your mode of conducts (which were against Allah's Laws) you fiercely opposed him? You insulted some and even (plotted to and) killed some.

2: 88 – And they say, "Our hearts (and minds) cannot accept this." Tell them (that it is not the fact that they cannot accept this message but) as a consequence of continuous disbelieve (i.e. following the wrong path) they have lost the intellect to realize (the benefits and) the truths and it is very rare that a person like them will ponder over this (message) and accept it (after understanding the underlying benefits for the whole society).

2: 89 – And when this Book (of laws) from Allah, while validates those (laws and values) which they already had and helped them in gaining superiority over the kafireen [see 2: 6], they (still) rejected it, even though they knew that this Book is from Allah. So (as a result) they were condemned (and destroyed because they followed their own laws).

2: 90 – In fact, the reason for their rejection of the Book is that they are envious of the fact that Allah has chosen a rasool who is not from amongst them (and this showed that) Allah can bestow (this honor) on anyone (who is worth it). (As a result) they incurred a destruction after destruction and this is the ultimate end for those who do not follow Allah's Codes of life.

2: 91 – When they are told, "Believe in these revealed (codes) of Allah," they reply, "We believe only in what was given to us." And deny in believing anything other than what they have, even though it is validating (the true essence and codes) which they already posses. Ask them, "Why did you kill Allah's rasool (and their teachings) if you really believed (in what Allah had revealed)?"

2: 92 – (What to talk of the rest when we know what you did what to Moses? When) Moses showed you (the benefits of following Allah's system of life with) profound results even then you (turned away from Allah and) started worshiping a calf, in his short absence. For sure you broke all the limits (set by Allah) and became zalemoon [see 2: 51].

2: 93 – And in the valley (where you sook protection) We took an oath from you, "You will uphold the laws We have given to you with firmness and obedience." You said, "We will," but instead, you broke those laws because of your reverence for the calf. Say to them, "(You say that you cannot accept these Revelations because you have taken the oath to hold on to what has been revealed to you then) shame on your faith that is, if you can call this a faith (in which one moment you are praying to Allah and next moment praying to calf)."

2: 94 – Ask them, "If you really believe that after this life the Paradise is specifically reserved (only) for you (and you are the beloved of Allah) then you should desire for a death (but then it is only) if you are truthful."

2: 95 – (But in reality) they will never wish to die because they know what is awaiting them (in Hereafter) in reply of their deeds. Allah knows about the zalemoon [see 2: 51].

2: 96 – (What to talk about dying when) in fact these people are greedier for life than mushiekeen. Everyone of them wishes to have a life of thousand years. But (they do not realize that) this will not help in any way to escape from the ill-effects of their wrong doings (and from the punishment in Hereafter). Allah's Law records (and reacts accordingly in reply of) everything they do.

2: 97 – Tell them, "Anyone who is offended by Jibrael (ÌÈÑÇÆíá) because he delivers the revelations to your heart by Allah's order confirming previous Books, (do know; these revelations) will benefit all those who follow it and (these revelations) provide guidance."

2: 98 – (And) all those who oppose Allah (i.e. do not follow Allah and His Laws), and His malaika, His rasool and Jibrael and Mikael (tell them) surely Allah (and His Laws) can never befriend (and benefit) those kafireen.

2: 99 – And surely We have revealed to you, (very) clear (and easily understandable) laws and only fasikeen will not follow them.

2: 100 – It is a fact that when they (i.e. a group of representatives of a community) make an agreement and promise to keep the agreement in tact, some of them (even within those representatives) disregard their own agreement. In fact most of those (representatives and community people) have no faith (in Allah's Laws).

2: 101 – And when(ever) a rasool of Allah came to them validating whatever was in their Books (that a rasool will come to them) a group amongst them rejected his book, as if they knew nothing about (this rasool from their own Books. But the truth is that they knew all about those rasool).

2: 102 – And they (kept on) following what the ring leaders (ÔíØÇä) had taught them, (even) in the reign of Solomon (ÓáíãÇä) and Solomon was not a kafir (but Allah's follower). The people under his reign, instead of following in his footsteps, kept on following the ringleaders and myths from the days of their ignorance. These ring leaders taught the people these myths and magic and then attributed them to two (mythical) angels (seemingly conjured up by them, namely:) Haroot and Maroot. (Further they said) that these angles had learned these from Allah. But what these people didn't understand that this was a test of their faith (as of course there was no reality in myths and magic, but following such cock-and-bull used to expose their beliefs). (Even though the people seemingly followed Allah) they used to approach them (the ring leaders) for plans such as breaking up marriages. But such cock-and-bull cannot harm anyone (as this is against the laws of Allah i.e. Nature). Thus whatever they learned (the magic and myth) ultimately harmed them (both psychologically and physically), rather than benefiting them (and) they knew (completely well) that these practices (were against Allah's laws and) would result in nothing good in the Hereafter. (But what they didn't know is that this will also result in nothing good in the long term for the community) but only if they could understand this.

2: 103 – (But) if they had believed (in Allah's Laws) and had followed them, they would have benefited by Allah('s Laws) but only if they could understand this.

2: 104 – O you who believe (in Allah)! Do not negotiate over the system of Allah (i.e. we will accept some of your laws if you accept some of our laws). Instead you should take Koran as your (sole) guide and then follow it. (Those people who accept these sorts of bargains, what they do not know is that these) kafireen have called for a painful retribution (because of not following Allah's Laws).

2: 105 – Those who follow other Books of Allah, and mushrikeen cannot bear to see you getting the boons of life obtained by following Allah(‘s laws). (But) Allah’s book is open to all those (who want to benefit from it). Allah does not impose limitations on His grace (that who should obtain benefit from His laws and who should not. Anyone who wishes to obtain the benefits can do so, by solely following these laws).

2: 106 – Whenever it happens that Allah's books are cancelled (because they were only for a small period of time or for a specific community,) or they were lost (with the passage of time or they were changed by the people), Allah sends another (rasool with a) book, which is either same as the ones lost or changed, or is better (because the time had changed and the old book was for that time period only or for a specific society, not for all the humanity). Don't you (people) realize that Allah has power over all things (and you cannot win just by destroying His Books one after another).

2: 107 – (Ask them,) "Don't you (people) realize the fact that Allah (and His Laws) rule the heaven and earth (i.e. the entire universe) and (if you people want to succeed) you have no one else to get guidance from (except from Allah's Laws)."

2: 108 – Do not (go and) ask your rasool, (the same questions and laws) which were asked to Moses (by Israelis) in the past (regarding small and petty things. And) anyone who after choosing Eman reverts to (this) kufr (of asking questions and fixing laws and boundaries for such minute affairs) will surely loose the benefits of following the right path.

2: 109 – Many followers of other Books of Allah (which have been changed with the passage of time), wish to turn you (people) away from Eman, towards kufr, after your believe (in Allah's Law and have seen the benefits therein). This is only because of their jealousy after seeing the truth (that only Allah's Laws can achieve the ultimate peace and harmony). You should not waste your time and energy with these people (in trying to make them understand that this is the correct path) and leave them (with their own set of laws after just showing them the true path and continue with your life). Surely Allah's laws will show that only they have the power to be adopted, over all other (manmade) laws.

2: 110 – You should establish the systems of Salat and Zakat. Any good (deeds) that you do, (be sure that) you will get the results (of those good deeds), and you will (then) learn that Allah is seer of everything (and thus Allah's Law responds according to what you do).

2: 111 – And they say, "No one will enter the Paradise except for Jews or Christians." This is their wishful thinking. Ask (them), "Show your proof for your claims (in rational terms) if you are true."

2: 112 – Indeed, those who follow absolutely only Allah, while leading a righteous life, will receive the rewards from Allah (because they are following Allah's Laws and the society based on these laws ultimately leads to a successful and peaceful life). They have no fear and grievances (unlike other man made governing systems, where everyone is afraid of others and anxieties and tensions run throughout the society).

2: 113 – The Jews say that Christians have no true religion while the Christians say that the Jews do not have a true religion. Ironically both (claim to) follow the (same) Books of Revelations. Even those who have no knowledge say the same thing (that they are right and the rest are wrong). Allah('s system of governance) will show them on the day of Judgment (and in this world) that who is right.

2: 114 – And who is more zalim (i.e. enemy of humanity), those who (try to) break up the system of Masjid by which Allah's Laws are implemented or those who create obstacles in their implementation? They should only enter these Masjid without any insurgency in their hearts (against the governing system of Allah). These people (who rebel from Allah’s system) will be degraded and disgraced in this world and Hereafter.

2: 115 – And Allah('s system) is for the East and West (and not confined to a particular place only. This system can be implemented in any community, country and society of the world. (No matter) where you go, you will find Allah (and His System) applicable there. Allah (and His System) is based on knowledge and wisdom.

2: 116 – And they say, "Allah has conceived a son." Allah! Whose command is followed by everything, never (can Allah fall to such a level of human beings that He requires a son, whence humans need sons to help them and carry on their name). To Allah belongs everything in this heaven and earth, (and) all follow only Him (and His laws).

2: 117 – (Allah is) Creator of heaven and earth, when He wants anything done, He simply says it, and it is done (for which He doesn't require a son).

2: 118 – And those who do not understand (about the Revelations they) ask, "If Allah wants to guide us, why doesn't He talk to us or show us a miracle?" Others before them have also demanded for the same sort of things, having the same mentality. (But for) those who understand the reason of these Revelations (and laws) do not demand for such things.

2: 119 – We have sent you (O Rasool) with the truth, as a guidance for good as well as a warning (for those who do not follow it) and you will not be held responsible for the Hell (and destruction) of the latter ones.

2: 120 – Neither the Jews nor the Christians will accept (and be pleased with) you unless you leave your path and follow theirs. Tell them, "Allah's guidance is the true guidance (which you don’t have in its original form now)." If you begin to follow their path, after receiving this knowledge, you will have no one to save you from the disastrous consequences (of following these wrong paths).

2: 121 – Those who receive this Book and follow it('s laws) as it should be, are Momineen (i.e. winners). While those who do not believe in it, they are Khaseroon (i.e. losers).

2: 122 – O children of Israel, recall Allah's favors, which you were bestowed upon and gained supremacy over other nations (after that you used to follow Allah's Laws).

2: 123 – And beware of the day when no one will help anyone else, no money will be helpful and no negotiation will be of any use to help anyone (which will come, if you do not follow Allah's laws).

2: 124 – And Recall that Abraham (ÇÈÑÇåíã) had to pass through harsh events, which happened because he was following Allah, but he (bravely) confronted them successfully (and remained firm on Allah's path). Seeing this he was declared as worthy of being an imam (leader) for others. Abraham asked, "Will my descendents also inherit this progeny?" The answer was that if his progeny deviated from the right path they would be deprived of it.

2: 125 – And Kaba (ßÚÈå) has been declared as a center for the human race and a place of universal peace. You must follow Abraham's path and emulate his conduct. Abraham and Ishmael (ÇÓãÇÚíá) were told to build a Home, which is a central place of the universal system (based on Allah's Laws) and undefiled by man-made beliefs, and it will be the center for those who follow and are guided by Allah's Laws.

2: 126 – And Abraham prayed (to Allah), "My Lord, make this a peaceful place and provide these people who believe in Allah and the last day, with bounties of life." Allah said, "(Not only those who believe in Allah's laws will receive the bounties of life but also) those who do not follow Allah's Laws, will enjoy these bounties of life, only for a short while (in accordance with the physical laws of Allah and) afterwards they will be dragged to a hell and miserable destiny."

2: 127 – And Abraham and Ishmael, while constructing Kaba prayed to Allah, "O our Lord, accept our efforts. You are fully aware of what we reveal and what we conceal."

2: 128 – "Our Lord show us the way and let our progeny continue in these steps, creating the community (you promised). Guide us towards creating this system, surely your Law is such that brings the success to all those who comply with these laws."

2: 129 – "Our Lord, (let our progeny continue until a) rasool arises, who would give to them (and all humanity) Your Code of Life, teach them how to establish the system with wisdom and purity. You are Almighty and Wise."

2: 130 – And those who reject the path followed by Abraham, are deceiving themselves. He was chosen (and succeeded) both in this world and Hereafter.

2: 131 – When His Lord asked him, "Submit (to His laws)," He replied, "I submit to the path of the Lord of the universe."

2: 132 – And Abraham exhorted his children to do the same, and so did Jacob (íÚÞæÈ), "O my children, Allah has chosen for you the way of life, therefore do not die (rejecting it) but accepting it throughout your life."

2: 133 – Do you know what Jacob said to his children, at the time of his death? He said, "Who will you follow after I die?" They replied, "We will follow the same path you followed and your forefathers, Abraham, Ishmael and Isaac (ÇÓÍÇÞ) followed, i.e. follow one Allah only, and only surrender to Him."

2: 134 – Those who passed away, they reaped the fruits of what they sowed, and you will reap the fruits of what you sow. You will not be answerable for what they have done.

2: 135 – And they say, "You have to be a Jew or a Christian to be considered following the right path." Tell them, "We follow the path Abraham followed (so why don't you also ask us to follow in the footsteps of Abraham, after all you also claim to be following his religion). And Abraham was a follower of Allah's System not a mushrik [see 2: 96]."

2: 136 – Tell them, "We believe in Allah, and in what has been revealed to us (i.e. Koran), and in what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and children of Jacob (who were rasool) and all other rasool of Allah. We do not (and cannot) make any distinctions between them (because they were revealed the same set of laws) and this is (what) a Muslim (believes in)."

2: 137 – Tell them, "If you become Muslims as us (i.e. follow Koran), then they will be guided (to success by Koran). But if you oppose this system, then this system (of Allah) is strong enough to protect us from you. Allah is All-Hearing and All-Knowing."

2: 138 – Tell (the Christians), "Salvation is achieved by following Allah (and His laws not through baptism by water). And what is more reasonable (and rationale) than Allah's System, and Him alone we follow."

2: 139 – Tell (the Jews), "Do you want to argue with us about (the concept of) Allah (when you say that your God is only for Jews) where as our Lord (and His system) is for everyone (and not confined to a specific tribe or country)? (Anyway) we are only accountable for ourselves, not for you and not for the path you choose, and we are loyal to Him alone."

2: 140 – If they say that Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the children of Jacob were Jews or Christians, tell them, "Do you know more than Allah, who knows that (people amongst) you hide the teachings of Allah from the masses? Who can be more zalemoon (i.e. unjust)? Surely (you don't think that) Allah (and His system) is unaware of this all."

2: 141 – These people will pass away (like all those before them and) they will be responsible for what they did, and you will be responsible for what you do. You will not be held accountable for what they did.

2: 142 – Some people ask that why was the direction of kiblah changed (from Jerusalem to Kaba). Tell them that Allah (and His System) is for east and west (and the whole world, not for a particular tribe or nation, like Judaism). And His system guides the people to the right path.

2: 143 – We made you a universal community so that everyone can be represented (in this system), and (your responsibility will be) to keep a watchful eye over the activities of other people. The direction of qibla (ÞÈáå) was changed so that those who follow you (the rasool and the message he brought) might be distinguished from those who do not. It will be a difficult task but you will be guided by Allah. Allah never lets hard work (for the right course) go to waste. Following Allah you will be protected from the destructive forces and provided with adequate source for nourishment.

2: 144 – We are aware that you were searching for the right path. Now (that you have a system for a state and) a center (Kaba) has been assigned to you (as the capital for the state based on Koranic laws), hence, from now onwards you should direct all your abilities for the development of this (system, whose center is Mecca's) place. Those who follow the previous Books of Allah (which are no longer in their original form) know that this is what Allah meant, for Allah always knows what they do.

2: 145 – Even if you prove to them with every kind of argument and proof, they will not follow your qiblah (and system and will ask you to follow their system and kiblah) but you also cannot follow their kiblah. (It is strange that) they do not even follow each other's qiblah (and system), but when set against you, they all unite in your opposition. And if you (make a) compromise with their wishes then for sure you are defying Allah's Laws.

2: 146 – Those who have the Books, understand the realities herein (the Koran) very clearly. But some of them (may that be whomsoever, they) hide the true benefits (of this system from their own people).

2: 147 – (Be assured that) this is the truth from your Lord and do not engage in any doubts regarding (the success of) this (system).

2: 148 – And everyone who chooses (to follow Allah) has a duty to work for the betterment (of all the mankind). Allah's Law encompasses the entire universe and therein.

2: 149 – And wherever you are (from), you should always (have this in mind to) work for the betterment of the Center (Kaba), because this (governing system contained in this) message is based on truth and Allah is never unaware of what you do.

2: 150 – And wherever you are (and wherever you come from) you should follow the Center (which is Kaba) and implement its (Koranic) System, so that people might not accuse you (that you are implementing your own laws and system) except for those who because of their obstinacy and prejudice drift away from this path. (You should not pay any heed to their voices but) you should be careful that you do not go astray from Allah's Laws and in the shadow of these laws, you will follow the path to the right destination (for the humanity, which is peace and harmony for all).

2: 151 – (For this purpose that you might know what to follow) We sent rasool (selected) from amongst you who acted upon Our Laws thus practically explained to you about the laws and instructed you to use your intellect, (the things) which you never knew (and utilized).

2: 152 – You should follow Me (and My laws), if you want to benefit from My laws. This (system) is a great gift and do not turn away (from this system).

2: 153 – O you who believe, stay steadfast (on this path) with patience and establish System of Salat. Surely Allah (and His system will only) benefit those who steadfastly stay on Allah's path.

2: 154 – And do not say that those who died in cause of Allah are dead, for they have attained the Eternal life, even though this cannot be perceived by your senses.

2: 155 – And (during the establishment of this system) you will be tested (for your true devotion to this system) by (your own) fears (and doubts about the success of this system and doubting whether this all is worth fit and by) scarcity of food, giving up of your money (and property,) your life (and time which you will give to the establishment of this system) and (luxury) foods. (But) there is good news to those who stay with this path (as ultimately they will be successful).

2: 156 – When they are confronted by a challenge even then they stay with Allah and clarify (the fact) that He is their ultimate goal.

2: 157 – These are the people who will (ultimately) receive the blessings and laudation from their Lord. They will surely be guided (to their goals).

2: 158 – Safa and Marvah are (present) within the Center, and are the traditional rites (of traveling between them. Between these meetings held at the Center) anyone who (wants to) observe (traditional customs of) Haj and Umrah, there is nothing wrong if he combines the two. So if one takes part in these (meetings) whole heartedly, his efforts will bring fruit. Allah knows the intentions behind evident actions.

2: 159 – Those who conceal the real purpose (of the Haj); "the supervision (of Islamic System)" after being explicitly described in the Book, will be damned by Allah. Not only Allah by they will also be damned by those who do not follow Allah's path (and follow their own traditions).

2: 160 – As for those (people who) come back to the right path, perform actions to amend (the destructions that they might have caused) and clearly show (that they follows the truth), these (are the people who) will receive (benefits from Allah's system). Allah's Bounties and Provisions are for all (who follow His Laws).

2: 161 – (And as for) those who follow the wrong paths and die following them, they will get the condemnation of Allah, the natural forces (e.g. global warming) and other humans.

2: 162 – They will live in this (mess) forever. They will neither be helped out of their ruins nor given any respite.

2: 163 – And your lord is one Allah and there is no Allah but Him. He is the One nurturing the entire universe.

2: 164 – In the creation (and laws) of universe and earth, alternation between night and day, the (law by which the) ships carry the human beneficiary cargo over the seas, the (means by which) water descends from the clouds and helps the earth in reviving life and its spread throughout the land, the (reasons the) winds change (their directions) and the clouds between sky and earth, are signs of Allah which the people should understand (to use for their own benefits).

2: 165 – And then there are some people who try to rival Allah, by creating their own (laws and) gods, and then love (and follow) them as if they are going to provide them with the same benefits. If only those people could see (the destruction they are headed to). But they will realize it once they see the results and then they will realize that only Allah (and His System) are perfect and the else wise only result in severe destruction.

2: 166 – (And then these people who lead others to destruction by their man made laws,) they will desert the people who (blindly) followed them, once they see the destruction (brought upon by their flawed laws) and all their mutual unions (and relations) will fall apart.

2: 167 – And the people who (blindly) followed (their leaders) will cry out, "If we can get another chance we will turn our back upon our leaders as they have turned their backs upon us." Thus Allah shows (that those who do not follow His Laws) they induce on themselves their own destruction and (a destruction) from which they can never find a way out.

2: 168 – O humans! Only take what is lawful and beneficial from earth (and its resources). And do not follow the footsteps of shaetan (which always urges you to grab everything for your own self and not to leave these things for other human's good). Surely this (urge) is your (and your society’s) clear enemy.

2: 169 – Those (shaetan and bad leaders show you false hopes) making you commit illegal and indecent behaviors (whether you like it or not) and make you act against Allah (and His Laws), but what you do not know (is that they only make you do all this for their own good and they couldn’t care less about you people).

2: 170 – And when they are asked, "Follow what Allah has shown you (in this Book)," they reply, "No. We will only follow what our forefathers followed." What! Even if their fathers lacked the knowledge and facts (which now you have due to scientific and historical discoveries and Allah's Book).

2: 171 – And the example of such disbelievers (kaferoon) is that of parrots who repeat whatever they hear, without any sense and understanding (of what they are repeating and what will this result into). How can these people who do not use their ears (to listen to new things), eyes (to see the obvious results) and brains (to think upon these and understand their truth) be called humans?

2: 172 – O Momineen! Eat from whatever is beneficial to you (and do not impose restrictions upon yourselves) and be thankful to Allah (that He hasn’t imposed unnecessary restrictions on you) that is if you follow His Laws only.

2: 173 – He (Allah) only prohibits you (i.e. Haram), carrion, flowing blood, flesh of swine and that, which has been consecrated to someone other than Allah. However, if you are faced with a situation (where you can find nothing else to eat and your life is threatened) and provided that you are not acting out of greed or desire (to break Allah's Laws) you can eat them. Surely Allah's Laws encompass everything and He is a mercy.

2: 174 – Those who conceal Allah's law (regarding Halal and Haram or anything) which are in the Book (in order to exercise their authority o) to achieve material gains (only result in the) destruction of their own (and their people). Allah will not speak to them at the Day of Judgment, nor will He give them another chance. And then they shall see that they have (only) earned a painful punishment.

2: 175 – These are the people who chose the path of destruction, instead of the right path and destruction instead of a construction (for their society). This can only result in a Hell (both in this world and Hereafter).

2: 176 – Because Allah's Book was revealed free from any contradiction, so those who mix their own laws with these laws are only headed towards destruction (taking their people with them).

2: 177 – The purpose of Deen (Islam) is not fulfilled by facing East or West (or following the customs n traditions of east or west). They include:

  1. Eman in Allah, the Day of Judgment, malaeka, Books (by Allah), rasool (who brought the books), and
  2. Establishment of the system (based on Koranic Laws) in which resources are available to everyone equally, including relatives, orphans, those who cannot earn enough to meet their needs, those who are looking for work, those who are on the verge of begging, and for the freedom of slaves (if there are any).
  3. They also establish the Systems of Salat and Zakat,
  4. Keep their promises (and words) whenever they make a promise.
  5. When hardships and troubles confront them, they bravely face them, without weakening (from Allah’s system),
  6. And (also) protect their society (against any such instances).

This is the complete definition of Mutakeen (Muslims).

2: 178 – O Momineen, equality is the law that should be kept in mind for all laws, inclusive of the law of murder may it be committed by a free person, slave or a female. But (a murder can be for many reasons, which might be self defense, mistake, and in such cases if proved the punishment can be decreased) with the mutual agreement of victim's relatives. And a payment can be given to them in compensation. This is (an example of) alleviation of Allah's Laws (in special circumstances). And whoever is found guilty (later on or for committing the crime) again, should be punished severely.

2: 179 – And if you think about it, you will understand that this Law of Retribution acts as a guardian for your life (and your community’s).

2: 180 – It should be noted that you should leave a valid legal will for (after) your death, which should be just. This is a duty upon Mutakeen.

2: 181 – If (incase due to some unforeseen incident a person only leaves an oral will) and the person who had heard this will changes the will later on, he will be held accountable (for such crime). Allah hears and knows all.

2: 182 – If a person sees that the testator's will has been biased or inclined (towards someone) or a mistake has been committed, then it is not unlawful if he justly renews the will. Surely Allah protects and nourishes all.

2: 183 – O Momineen, fasting is obligatory for you as it was for those before you, so that you might be guarded (or have stamina in times of disasters or emergencies, when a shortage of food might occur or you might have to work for hours without any provisions).

2: 184 – This (fasting) is for a specific number of days. If (during this period) anyone falls sick or (misses them because of) a journey, then he must complete the prescribed (days of fasting) on other days. But if a person is not able to fast (due to some medical reason or something else) then he should provide food for a person, for each day. But it is better for the person to fast (because the benefits which are achieved by fasting, cannot be achieved by giving food to anyone) if you really understand the reason of fasting.

2: 185 – During the month of Ramdan, the revelation of Koran began, showing all the humanity the right path with its clear (and easy) teachings and (laws, which helps to) distinguish between truth and falsehood. Therefore, everyone of you must fast in Ramdan and whoever is sick or in a journey, he should fast in the later days (as explained in 2: 184). (Be sure to know that) Allah wants to make things easy for you in carrying your obligations (and fasting will surely prepare you to carry those obligations in times of emergencies). And you will thank Allah for this blessing (once you see the practicality of fasting).

2: 186 – And when My devotees ask you about Me, tell them that I am always near them. I show them the way whenever they pray to me for guidance. They should fulfill My Orders (in Koran) and believe in Me (that these laws) and I will guide them to success.

2: 187 – It is allowed to you to go to your wives on the nights of fasts (after that the fasting ends). A husband and a wife are like apparel for each other. Allah knows that you used to be treacherous to yourselves (in Monasticism) thus He clarifies this to help you. You may cohabit with your wives, eat and drink until dawn. Then from dawn to dusk you are required to fast (and are prohibited from all these acts). But if you are required at Masjid (for some work, official or otherwise) then you should refrain from going home (and give all attention to these matters).

Allah has clearly explained His Laws (regarding the fasts) for the human beings, so now they should follow them.

2: 188 – And do not devour other people's property and also you should not bribe the officials to (illegally) obtain other people’s property (or deprive them of their rights) and of all, you know the results which would follow such acts.

2: 189 – They ask you about the new moon (i.e. about the months that some are auspicious and some are not). Tell them that these things only provide a means to keep time and to determine (dates such as of) Haj. It is (also) only superstitious that you should enter the house from back not from the front door (during Haj or otherwise) and these superstitions have no place in Allah's laws (which you obey) and which leads you to a success.

2: 190 – You may (and only) fight in the cause of Allah (and His System) against the oppression and tyranny upon you (and your Islamic Society) but even in the times of wars do not transgress from the laws (of Allah). Allah (and His System) is never with those who transgress (Allah's Laws).

2: 191 – And (under the circumstances when a war is forced upon you,) you are to fight back and take back the places, which they had snatched from you (even if this requires the sacrificing of lives. Remember that) living under someone else’s rule is worse than the deaths (because any system other than Allah's System always results in far severe consequences for the whole humanity. Also remember that) you should not fight in the vicinity surrounding Kaba, but if the enemy does not abstain from fighting in that area then you have to fight back because that is how the (attacking army of) Kafireen must be dealt with.

2: 192 – But if they stop (their attacks then you should also stop the fight) because Allah's System is meant for providing abundant means of safety and healthy means of development.

2: 193 – And you should fight with them, until they stop their tyranny or you have eliminated their tyranny and until those who want (Allah's Deen) have implemented Allah's Deen (of their free will). If (those enemies who are fighting with you,) they stop their tyranny (and oppression), you should stop the fight as well because fight is only allowed against zalemoon.

2: 194 – (Due to the practical fact that if there is a break in the ongoing war, i.e. a time of peace in the war then this significantly increases the chances of ultimate peace, specifically for this reason Allah has said that) sacred months should be kept sacred (and with negotiations a ceasefire for a period of time should be implemented). But if the other group breaks the treaty (or violates its points) then this must be met with a severe reply. You should obey (all) Allah's Laws and Allah is always with Mutakeen.

2: 195 – (In a war the whole economic system of a state is disturbed, sometimes resulting in the devastation of the state. Now when the Islamic State is under attack) you should place all your resources, openly at the disposal of the state (for the security of state’s economy), because otherwise this will result in the devastation of your own state (and its system), and Allah’s system succeeds with Mohsineen.

2: 196 – And do carry out the meetings of Haj and Umrah, (which is a must) for Allah (and His System). And if some incidents (or things) prevent you from attending (the meeting) then you should send someone who is next to you in leadership or who understands the matters very correctly so that he can represent you. (Then the duties listed below should be carried out, so that homogeneity of the Islamic System can be realized.)

Do not shave your heads until you all have reached Kaba, and if due to some reason (may that be ailment or whatever) you cannot do it, it is sensible that you should let others know of it and in place you should fast. During the Haj, you should abide by the laws of the meetings and those who break the laws would have to pay the penalties. And if you can not pay the fines, then you shall fast for the time of the Haj or Umrah and then when you return from the meeting, you shall fast for seven more days, provided that you do not live in Mecca (because then you will have to complete ten days of fasting continuously). And those who don’t follow Allah's laws, will end up in the retribution of destruction (according to Allah's Laws).

2: 197 – Haj should be conducted in well defined and specific dates. Whoever (is chosen) to attend the Haj should be careful not to do anything demeaning or obscene like (wastage of time by senseless) arguments, and no matter what you show, Allah knows all (what your plans are and why are you carrying out such acts). When you are preparing for the meeting, you should prepare for the expenses of the journey and the stay in advance.

O men of understanding! Be careful (in carrying out) of these instructions.

2: 198 – There is no error if you also seek economic benefits from this system of Allah. When you return from Arafat (after that you have been introduced to each other) you can discuss commercial and business ties (amongst you), so that your state can be guided well (towards the Koranic System), before that (due to economic pressures the system starts crumbling and) you start choosing astray course.

2: 199 – (After sharing the ideas and technologies) you should use those technologies along with other Muslims who are already using it and pray to Allah that these things are used for the good and protection of humanity.

2: 200 – In earlier times you used to be boastful of your ancestors in these type of meetings (which drove the common people away from these meetings as they felt inferior because of their menial origins). Now that you know, you should talk about Allah's guidance.

There is a kind of people, who only look for material gains in this world (and would use these meetings for their own gains), be sure that such people will not share Hereafter.

2: 201 – And then there is a second kind of people who ask Allah to guide them to right course in this world and then guide them to bliss in Hereafter and spare them from the retribution of Hell.

2: 202 – Both kind of people will receive what they have worked for because Allah's law always give according to the aim.

2: 203 – And the Haj meeting should be attended for the specified number of days. But if someone has to leave (due to some emergency) then he can leave after two days and if anyone stays longer, he does no sin if he stays for the betterment of the Islamic State. And be careful about your duties to your Islamic State because one day you all will be gathered in front of Allah.

2: 204 – Among the (two kinds of) people, first kind will fascinate you with their speeches and arguments about working only for the worldly gains (and would make you wonder if they are right due to their impressive persuasion). For their weight they even use Allah's Laws, (twisting them in a manner to be used for their own benefits). These people are the worst enemies of Allah’s system (and in turn yours).

2: 205 – Now these people, when they follow their own paths (and gain power) they try to spread their ideas through out the world (as quickly as possible and by any means) and these only result in the devastation of earthly resources and devastated human lives. And Allah does not like fasad.

2: 206 – And when these people are asked, "Follow Allah's path," then in the false pride of intoxication of their power, they denounce the advice thus heading straight towards the terrible destruction. What a miserable life they have chosen?

2: 207 – And the second kind of people [also see 2: 204] dedicate their lives to accomplish the goal Allah has chosen for them, and these people follow only Allah's Laws and Allah also supports them.

2: 208 – O Momineen! Adopt Islam (i.e. Koran) completely and do not follow the path of Shaetan (by accepting few parts of Allah's System and rejecting the others), for this is your enemy (and will bring sure destruction).

2: 209 – We have given you a governing system in clear terms. If after having received this, you go astray from the right course, do not think that you will not be held accountable for your actions. Like everyone else, you will also be judged by Our Law of Mukafat which prevails over all.

2: 210 – Those who oppose Allah's system, when they are warned of the disastrous results of their actions, they assume that the final judgment will be delivered by Allah and His Malaika appearing with glory in the clouds. They should be told that this is not the way Allah's Law deals with wrong doers. The natural results of the wrong actions take the form of destruction.

2: 211 – Ask the Israelis (about their past) that how they prospered whenever they followed Allah's path, and whenever they strayed from Allah's path they ultimately destroyed themselves. And let Allah assure you that whoever does not follow Allah's law, they will always destroy themselves (after the short term benefits).

2: 212 – The materialists (ßÇÞÑíä) adorn for the material gains (and do everything to obtain them) and mock those who are Momineen (because they do not work for materialistic benefits of oneself, but for the overall benefit for the whole society). Do remember (that ever if it takes some time) ultimately these Momineen will rise far higher than the Kaferoon; and at that time everyone will know that those who had followed Allah's Laws have received the benefits beyond their comprehension.

2: 213 – And (regarding the human community, one thing you all should know is that) humans are supposed to live as a single community, just as they used to in the beginning of civilization (when they prospered throughout the earth. And then when they raised internal conflicts and strayed from the right course) Allah sent rasool who were given the Books, which had the laws to (guide them to their prosperity and to) make the decisions in their affairs (which the humans were unable to make with their own intellect). They also warned them of the (disastrous) consequences if they wouldn't follow Allah's path. (But when the rasool died, these people quickly changed the texts of these books for their own benefits, exploiting the hardship of other innocent people.) Look at the irony that when Allah used to send another rasool in these people, with the laws for their lives, those people (who had received the previous books and changed them) were the ones who severely opposed Allah's path, even knowing the benefits these laws would bring to the mankind. This is because they have always been jealous of seeing other humans living in a comforting life and being treated as equal to them. And (top it all) these people's systems are so pathetic that they can't even resolve their mutual disputes. But those people (who even) amongst these follow Allah's laws, will be able to resolve these disputes in Allah's guidance. Surely Allah('s Koran) shows the right path, to those who yearn for it.

2: 214 – Do not expect to achieve the heavenly state of life without any hardships and difficulties. Everyone before you who achieved this heavenly life had formidable obstacles to overcome – so difficult obstacles that they even thought that this system was just a scam. But in those people there were some who stayed with Allah's path and kept on trying to overcome the obstacles with the blind faith in Allah and affirmation that they will win. Surely they were successful just as Allah had promised.

2: 215 – Those who ask about (sharing their resources and) donating their money, tell them, "The money which they want to spend for the benefit of mankind should start from the people nearest and closest to them and then start expanding in a circle. This will start from their own parents, then comes their relatives, then the orphans (and all those who do not have anyone to take care of them and require the assistance of others), then those who are not able to earn enough to support them and the people who have joined the community and are trying to find the jobs. Do know that whatever good deed you do for your society, it will surely benefit the society.

2: 216 – A situation might arise when you have to go for a fight (for the sake of your community,) even though you dislike this. (But remember that human intellect alone is insufficient to decide what is ultimately good for you and your society). You may feel that something is very good for you but actually it is very bad for you or you think that a certain action is bad for you but actually it is very good for you. Only Allah knows that what is ultimately good for you and what is bad (and this is the specific reason that He has sent His Laws so as to distinguish between the two).

2: 217 – They ask you about the months in which war is prohibited, tell them, "Fighting in these months is not allowed. But do remember that stopping people from following Allah's path or themselves rejecting these laws, fighting in a place which has been declared as a sanctuary, evicting the refugees who have sought refuge in these sanctuaries are far worse crimes than a war. (Also note that) Fitnah (i.e. spreading disorder) is worse than murder. (Remember!) Your enemies will not stop until you have turned away from your Deen. Beware that those who leave Allah's path will die as kafir and all their previous hardships will be rendered useless, both in this world and in the Hereafter. These people are the ones who will live in Hell forever."

2: 218 – While the Momineen who undertake Hijrah (migration), strive hard for Allah's system are the people who will rightfully receive Allah's blessings.

2: 219 – They ask you about khomar (i.e. things which benumb human senses and human rationalism) and maesar (i.e. wealth which is obtained without any work). Tell them, "Though there seem short term benefits in these things but be sure to know that in the long run they leave disastrous consequences. And their long term disasters far outweigh their short term material gains." They also ask you about the amount of money which they should use to help others, tell them, "All which is surplus to their own needs." And Allah has very clearly explained to you His Laws, concerning both this world and the Hereafter.

2: 220 – (Remember!) This life will decide about your Hereafter. And when they ask you about the people who cannot look after themselves e.g. orphans, tell them, "Best line of action would be to set the affair related to them in an order and if you want to take care of them along with your family members then treat them as your family members. Remember that Allah knows who are musliheen and who are mufsideen. And if Allah hadn't given you these laws, for sure you would have inflicted great pains on yourself. Do remember Allah's Laws are based on wisdom and encompass all the universe."

2: 221 – (About the laws of marriage,) a momin man should not marry a mushrik woman until she accepts Islam (after understanding what Islam is. This is must, because if a husband believes and acts on a different ideology and the wife on a totally different ideology, then this will create a lot of marital problems). A momin woman who is a slave or a slave is better to marry, than marrying a free mushrik woman (who is rich or whatever), no matter how pleasing she is to you. Likewise a momin woman should not marry a mushrik man until he accepts Islam. A momin man even if he is a slave is better than a free mushrik man, regardless of how pleasing he is. You should know that these kinds of marriages between the people of different ideologies make the family life a veritable hell. While conversely, marriage between the people of similar ideologies makes the family life heavenly. Allah has clearly explained (the law of marriage) to you, so that you may follow them after understanding (the benefits).

2: 222 – They ask you about (sexual intercourse during) menstruation. Tell them to refrain from it during this time. After this time, they are allowed, as suggested by Allah's natural law. And if they hadn't been doing this, then they should start acting on this, for Allah likes those who start following Allah's Laws after that they have known about them.

2: 223 – Wives (of you momineen) are like hars (i.e. land which has been ploughed and sawed) to you. The husband and wife should cohabit together as long as both agree and follow the right path. And keep in mind your duty to Allah, and your Hereafter will depend on your actions in this world. For those who follow Allah's Laws, there is good news.

2: 224-225 – Allah does not want you to take oaths which are not in accordance with Allah's Laws. But there are some people who when asked to cooperate in the deeds which are virtuous they say that they taken oaths not to participate in such activities. (Tell them) Allah holds them accountable only for the oath taken with serious intents and not for frivolous oaths. He is Forbearing and provides protection.

2: 226 – (Keeping the above two verses in mind, and about the oaths which some people take without any thinking) let's talk about the people who take oaths not to live with their wives any more (in anger or without any rational thinking). They are given a period of four months to think about their decision. And in this period of four months if they choose to resume their relations (or their relatives negotiate back their happy relations) then so be it, because Allah who is Ghafoor and Rahim allows it.

2: 227 – And if they decide to divorce each other (after thinking for four months), they should proceed in accordance with Allah's Laws who is All-Hearing and All-Knowing.

2: 228 – The divorced woman should wait for (approximately) three months [65: 4], before getting married again. And if she is pregnant, then she should tell about this fact.

(As it normally happens that when a husband realizes that the wife he is about to divorce or divorced, is having his child, he changes his mind.) So if the husband decides to remarry her within this waiting period (of four months), then he can, with the consent of his wife.

Now as for men, there is no waiting period after their divorce, and this is the only advantage a man has over a woman, which Allah has explained very intellectually.

2: 229 – A husband or wife has the right to divorce each other and then if they want to get back together, they can. If the divorce goes through the second round, even then both have the time and are allowed to get back together. (But if the divorce goes through the third stage, then they are not allowed to get back together unless the divorced wife marries another man. If she gets a divorce from the second husband only then she is allowed to remarry her previous husband [see 2: 230]). The divorced women should be allowed to live in the same home peacefully until the divorce has been completed or if she does not want to live in the home then peacefully, she should be allowed to do so.

Now when a divorce has been finalized, it is not allowed to the divorced husband to take away whatever he had given to his wife in the times of the marriage. But if this factor becomes a hindrance in the process of divorce and if the wife of her free will chooses, then she can forego what is hers. These are the laws Allah has made for a divorce, so do not transgress from Allah’s laws (break them or change them) because whoever does so becomes a zalemoon.

2: 230 – But if the divorce goes through the third stage, then they are not allowed to get back together unless the divorced wife marries another man and then she is allowed to remarry her previous husband, if she gets a divorce from the second husband, if they both are (still) Muslims. These are the laws of Allah and they have been clearly explained for the people who use logic and rationale.

2: 231 – When the divorce is in the third and final round, i.e. nearing the end of third month, it should finally be decided whether they will go through the divorce or not (in presence of witnesses [2: 232], and during this period of waiting, if the woman is not staying with the husband even then her financial necessities should be taken care of by the man [2: 241]).

If the husband and wife decide not to go through with the divorce and live together, then this should not be done with the intend to do harm to each other (and take revenge), or to break Allah’s laws. Remember by breaking Allah's Laws, you don't harm Allah but your own selves. Do not mock Allah's Law. It's already a blessing of Allah that he has sent to you these laws and then also explained to you (their underlying benefits). You should follow Allah's Laws and you should know that these laws concern every aspect of the life and nature.

2: 232 – And when the divorce is in its third and final stage and nearing the end of third month, if the husband and wife decide not to go through the divorce, then do not create obstacles in this union. And do remember that all this is to be counseled in front of witnesses who are momineen. This law will lead you to a life of decency and purity. This is the law of Allah, who knows all (the complexities that might arise within a divorce) while you (humans) do not know.

2: 233 – Divorced mothers should nurse the infants for two years, after their birth. If she agrees to do so, then the father should provide for the needs of the mother, according to his resources. Neither the mother nor the father should be burdened beyond his/her capabilities on the account of the child.

In case if the father dies, then looking after the economical needs of the mother falls onto the heirs of father's wealth.

If both the parents agree, then this period of undertaking child's care by the mother for two years can end earlier, and arrangements should be made that the child is nursed by another woman. For some reason if the nursing period is to be ended prematurely than the agreed period, even then the nursing woman should be paid the full amount promised to her. Do comply with these laws because Allah knows all (the intrigues you can come up with).

2: 234 – The waiting period for widows is four months and ten days. When this time ends these widows are allowed to marry whomever they wish to. You are not responsible for what they decide and Allah is aware of whatever one does.

2: 235 – And remember that you cannot marry a widow within the waiting period but you can consider the possibility of the marriage. You can also let them know of your wishes by some indirect means, but you can not meet them privately or finalize about the mirage until this waiting period is over. Do know that Allah knows whatever your plans are, so do save yourself from harmful consequences (of not following these laws).

2: 236 – In case where dissolution of a marriage takes place before that it has been consummated and the dower has not been fixed; then as an act of kindness and according to your means make some provision for the divorced woman. This is a duty of mohsineen.

2: 237 – And if the marriage has not been consummated but the dower has been fixed, you have to pay one-half of the dower in case of the breakage of marriage. If the party wants to forgo their claim or the party concerned with the initialization of the divorce forgoes the claim, remember that to forgo is nearer to taqva. And remember that you do not become enemies of each other, and surely Allah knows what you do (and what you think).

2: 238 – You should uphold the System of Salat, and the central authority in your community is in charge of seeing this through. And (for this System of Salat) only follow Allah's teachings.

2: 239 – Under a threat lingering on the community or unusual circumstances you are not asked to go through with all the formalities of the salat and also, Allah advises that even in those unusual circumstances everything should be done with mutual consultation and meeting. And then once those circumstances are over you should return back to the normal system of Salat, but in both cases only follow Allah's laws, as he had given you the guidance in the form of His Laws.

2: 240 – And remember that men should leave a will for their widows stating that the economical needs of those widows should be fulfilled for one year without asking them to leave their deceased husband's homes. But if during this time the widow leaves her home of her own consent, then you will not be blamed for her action and for whatever decisions she makes afterwards. Keep in mind that these laws have been given by Allah who is Almighty and Wise.

2: 241 – Actions should be taken to fulfill the economical necessities of the divorced women during the waiting period according to the means available. This is a duty of mutaqeen.

2: 242 – Now Allah has clearly explained these laws, in the manner that you (all) can understand.

2: 243 – Do you remember about the people who fled their home in fear (of an invading army), even though these people were thousands in strength? The fear of death had overtaken them. (Do you know what happened to them?) According to Allah's law, because they had stopped following Allah's rules, their civilization nearly vanished from the face of the earth. (But then when they realized their mistake and returned to the right path, they confronted their enemy) and then Allah made them the (winner) and an alive nation. And only those benefit from Allah's laws who follow them after understanding them.

2: 244 – (So if the need arises then) you should fight in the cause of Allah (and Allah's System, because as evident from the previous verse [see 2: 243], those nations who completely follow Allah's Law ultimately they are the winners). And remember that Allah is aware of what you do.

2: 245 – Now remember that you should give your money for the benefit of the Islamic Society. And whatever you will give, keep in mind that this will be returned back to you many folds (in the form of basic necessities which everyone of you will have and the peace and protection which everyone will get). And be careful that you only give and take according to Allah's Laws, and you will return to Him (i.e. stand for your judgment on the Judgment Day).

2: 246 – Recall the history about Israeli leaders, (sometime) after the death of Moses, when they asked their rasool to appoint a commander to lead them in their war in the cause of the Islamic Society. Their rasool asked them to clarify whether they meant this with their heart or would they desist from the war once the orders had been given. They replied that how could it be that they would not fight, when the enemy had expelled them from their homes and expelled their children. However when the war started, just as the rasool had sensed, except for a few, they turned back, and Allah knows who these zalemoon were.

2: 247 – (Let's come back to the discussion between the Israeli leaders and the rasool) when their rasool said that Allah had appointed Saul (ØÇáæÊ) to be their commander. They responded by questioning that how could Saul be made their commander, for they considered themselves to be much more worthy than him for the job, and also that he was a poor man. The rasool said that (wealth should not be a criterion in choosing a commander for an army and) according to Allah's Law Saul was chosen and it was because he had the best (military) knowledge (to go to this war) and physically also he was sound for this job when compared with the rest. And according to Allah's Law, the one chosen for the leadership should have the best knowledge for the job and should be willing to sacrifice himself for the mission.

2: 248 – The rasool said to them that the first sign (proving the correctness of choosing Saul as their leader would be) that just being under his leadership would make the hearts of the soldiers free of any fear of the enemy army and the soldiers will be content with him. Secondly he would recover the relics left by the descendants of Moses and Aaron (åÇÑæä) (from the possession of the enemy).  This should have been convincing enough for them, if they really were momineen.

2: 249 – When Saul marched on with his army he ordered his army not to drink water from a stream, which was in their way and if they must, then at most they should only moisten their lips and throat. And only those who had obeyed these laws would accompany him in the war. Yet except for a few everyone drank from the stream, and when they crossed the stream and confronted the enemy (all those who had disobeyed) they said that they did not have the strength to fight the army of Goliath (ÌÇáæÊ). As for those who were firm in the belief said that they were not afraid of the strength of the enemy and many times it had happened that a small army had defeated a big enemy. The only thing which mattered to them was to remain steadfast on Allah's Path.

2: 250 – When they were confronted by the army of Goliath, they prayed to Allah, "O our Lord! Give us the steadfastness and strength to win over the people who are kaferoon."

2: 251 – So they defeated their enemies and David (ÏÇÄÏ) killed Goliath. Later on Allah bestowed upon David leadership and wisdom and gave him (a lot of) knowledge based on the revelations.

Moral of this story of Saul's victory is that, chaos will rampage throughout the earth, unless even a small group rises up and using Allah's Laws defeats those forces.

2: 252 – These are Allah's Laws (and stories of human civilizations) based on truth and they have been brought in front of you. O rasool! For you are truly final of the rasool.

2: 253 – All of these rasool were different from each other (by virtue of their landscape, sphere of activity and so on). To some Allah spoke directly (Moses), and some were elevated (in terms of knowledge) as compared to others. Jesus, son of Mary was given (knowledge of many cures which in those days seemed as) miracles and he also had very sound rationalizing and reasoning mind. And if the followers of these rasool had followed Allah's Will (i.e. His Laws) these people would not have fought with each other after receiving such complete guidance (in the form of these laws). Instead they disputed and were divided into two groups.

First group who accepted Allah's Laws.

Second group who rejected Allah's Laws.

Note that if Allah had wanted, (He would not have given them the free will and) they would not have fought amongst each other. But this was Allah's intention that human beings should have free will.

2: 254 – O momineen! Do not forget to keep the resources and money open which We (and Allah's system) has given to you, before that a day comes when no bargaining, friendship and intercession will be of any use. Remember, those who do not obey Allah's Laws are ones who bring distress upon themselves.

2: 255 – Allah – Allah is the sole authority on and in the universe. He is eternal, self-subsisting. He is neither seized by slumber nor by sleep. Entire universe is acting on His laws. No one can intercede with Him, unless it is in accordance with His Laws. Allah knows the past and present of every human and no one can gain this knowledge except by following Allah's own laws. Allah's (laws and) authority encompasses the entire universe, which He maintains untiringly. His power extends from the lowest to the highest levels of His creation.

2: 256 – There is no compulsion in the Deen. Allah has very clearly defined the right way in comparison of the wrong way. Anyone who does not follow the path of oppressive forces and follows the right path described by Allah; he is the one who has understood the strongest bond (and purpose of humanity) and this bond never breaks. And Allah is All-Hearing and All-Knowing.

2: 257 – Allah is the guardian of momineen and (in the light of His Laws) they are guided out of the darkness into the light. While those who are kafireen, they are led by their own cravings (and lusts) which dumps them into the darkness, from the light. They will live in a hellish life, a hell from which they can never escape (until they start following Allah).

2: 258 – Have you read about the king who argued with Abraham about the existence of a Lord because he was too full of his kingship? When Abraham told him that he believed in Allah who controlled life and death; the king replied, "I control the life and death in my kingdom."

Abraham replied, "(If you are the supreme authority in this kingdom,) then you should be able to make the sun rise from the West, unlike the law of Allah which makes it rise from the East." The king was left speechless. Keep in mind that people with such mentalities very rarely choose the right path.

2: 259 – (The symbolic story goes,) a person passing by a ruined dwelling pondered upon, whether such a destroyed location could ever breath new life. Allah kept him in a death like state for one hundred years, after which he was revived. He was asked, "How long have you stayed in this state?" He replied, "May be a day or two." He was informed, "You have been in this state for a hundred years but look your food and drinks have not gone bad and your donkey is also alive, standing besides you. You should also reflect upon the process by which an embryo develops into a human."

When he thought about it he uttered, "Now I realize how Allah gives life to dead nations."

2: 260 – And Abraham also (wondered about the same thing and) asked, "My Lord tell me how will you give life (to a nation) which is nothing (at the moment)?" Allah answered, “Don’t you trust my laws?" Abraham replied, "I do, but just for the reassurance of the reservations in my heart." Allah then replied, "Take four untamed birds (which in the beginning will try all to fly away). Then teach them to obey you (and this will take some time). After that they have learned to obey you, put them separately on four hills and then call them. You will see that on your call they would fly back to you."

Surely Allah is Wise and Almighty.

2: 261 – For the cause of the establishment of Islamic society financial help is required (which has already been stated). This help can well be compared to that of a seed. When a grain is sawn it grows into seven ears with hundred grains in each ear. And in the same way Allah grants manifolds benefits to him who spends from his possessions. Remember Allah is All-Embracing and All-Knowing.

2: 262 – Those of you who keep their resources open in the cause of establishment of Islamic Society, and do not do ruin it by boasting about their compassion and generosity, which will also hurts the feelings of the needy, surely these people will receive the rewards by Allah in the form of the society in which they have none to fear and there will be no suffering.

2: 263 – Kind words are better than giving charity accompanied by taunting. And people in Allah’s society will surely become self sufficient if they stay patient with Allah's Laws.

2: 264 – O momineen! Do not nullify your charity and help by boasting about the favor you have done to them. This is done by the people who do not believe in Allah, in Hereafter and their charity is only for the purpose of showing off. This akin to a rock covered with a thin layer of soil. The soil is washed off with a heavy rainfall and the bare stone is left behind. These acts bring no fruit and even Allah's Laws cannot guide such (kafir) people.

2: 265 – And those people who sincerely spend their wealth in the cause of Allah for the harmony of the Islamic society, it is like a garden on a high fertile soil. When it rains heavily, it yields twice as much crop and if it rains lightly, even then it is enough for the harvest to survive. Allah sees everything you do.

2: 266 – Put yourself in the shoes of the man who owned a garden of palm trees and grapes with easy access to water due to a nearby flowing stream. This assured him and his children of a secured future. As he grows old with his children dependent on him, a fierce wind destroys the entire garden.

This should very clearly explain to you the law of sharing resources.

2: 267 – O momenin! Do not give away in charity the things which you consider worthless to you, but what you also consider for you and for the society to be beneficial. Also remember that Allah is not dependent on this charity, but it is for your own self. For Allah is Self-Sufficient and everything in the universe follows His commands.

2: 268 – Your selfish sentiments scare you with the individual consequences that you will be reduced to poverty and then seduces you with the shine of wealth (by any means). Do remember that Allah’s system protects against any such calamities and makes sure enough welfare is available for every one in the society. Allah is All-Knowing and All-Embracing.

2: 269 – One cannot understand these facts by their intelligence alone but thorough the intelligence guided by the Revelation. Such a guidance is a blessing from Allah but only men of intellect realize this.

2: 270 – Whatever you spend for the Islamic Society or the services you give are taken into account by the Law of Mukafat. Those who fail to fulfill their bonds will have no help.

2: 271 – If you give help openly, it is good. But if (during the start of the social system) you provide the help anonymously, then it is the best. Do remember that these facilitate the removal of unevenness in your society and your personality, and Allah knows everything you do.

2: 272 – It is not your duty to make the people follow the right path. Allah’s laws only guide those who want to be guided. As for any help you give, this is for your own good and the good of the Islamic society.

Again remember that it's not your fault, if a person does not accept Allah.

2: 273 – The money you give should be given to those, who are fighting for the Islamic society and to the people who are living in other lands and do not have the money to migrate. These people might look like to be doing very well to an unaware participant, and bound by their dignity, they would never ask for more. And whatever you decide to give them, Allah is fully aware of this.

2: 274 – Those who spend in the cause of Allah, openly or secretly (depending on the situation), surely help in the creation of the Islamic society, a society in which there will be nothing to fear and no anxieties (psychological or economical).

2: 275 – Those people who charge interest over the loans they give, are same as those people who follow wrong paths. If these people say that this interest taking is just like trading, then let them know that Allah permits trade but same hand forbids interest on money. Thus anyone who refrains from taking interest after that he has been told of this law, he will not be held accountable for what he had done in this aspect in past. But for those people who revert back to taking interest, they (and their society) are heading towards a hell (both in this world and Hereafter) from which there will be no way out.

2: 276 – Allah's Law says that no society can progress based on the system of interest, while the communities based on resources available to everyone are blessed (in every means). Those who do not follow this law can never prosper (forever).

2: 277 – Those momineen who lead a life following Allah’s laws, establishing the system of salat, and zakat will create a society free of any fear and anxiety and full of the benefits as promised by Allah.

2: 278 – O momineen! Follow Allah's Laws and refrain from all kinds of interests (on wealth), that is if you truly want to follow Allah's Laws.

2: 279 – And if you do not, then be prepared for a war with the Islamic Society. But (it can be avoided) if you forego the interest money and only claim the principal amount. This is the best way to be just and without inflicting any negative affects.

2: 280 – And if the debtor is having difficulty to pay his loan on time, then give him sometime until it is convenient for him to repay the loan. But it is best if you forego the loan, if you could really understand.

2: 281 – Beware of the day when you will be in front of Allah and every person will only get according to what he had worked for, and it will not be decreased at all.

2: 282 – O momenin! Matters relating to the transaction of a loan for a particular time should be written down, and an impartial scribe should do the writing. As for the scribe, he should not refuse to write and should write honestly. Let the person who is taking the loan, dictate. The scribe should check that the dictated material is following Allah's Laws and should not cheat.

In case if the debtor is not very intelligent, sick, or unable to dictate for himself, then his guardian should dictate justly and there should be two men as witnesses (from amongst you). If two men are not available, then a man and two women will be called in as witnesses, from amongst the people which you accept (as witnesses). This is done so that if one of the women is biased or made to be a bias, then other woman's testimony can be taken or used to refresh the memory of the first woman.

And it is obligatory on the witnesses to give a testimony, when they are summoned.

Do not show any reluctance in writing down the transaction (details) be they lengthy or small. This is a fair procedure in accordance with Allah's Laws and is the best suited for eliminating any doubts.

In case of transactions for buying and selling of ready merchandise, there is no blame in not writing them down.

In case of a business or trade transaction, it should be done in the presence of a witness and no harm should come to the scribe (who will write all the details of the contract) and witness. And if you do so, it will be breaking Allah's Laws. Allah who knows what problems might arise in dealings has given these laws.

2: 283 – If you are traveling and no scribe is available, then a bond or token should be taken in recognition of the contract. If you two trust each other, then you should not betray the trust and be careful of the law of Allah (in which wicked are always punished). Also do not hide what you have witnessed, because those who do, their hearts become restless with the possibility that the truth might come out, thus hindering the development of their personality, and in Allah's Law truth always prevails.

2: 284 – Everything on earth and in space is following Allah's Laws. Whether you declare what you are hiding or keep them hidden, Allah will hold you responsible (for whatever happens in the society because of this). For those who (start to) follow Allah's Laws, will benefit from them and progress, because only Allah's Laws should be followed.

2: 285 – The rasool believes in (and follows) the laws revealed by Allah, as well as the momineen. They believe in Allah, malaika, His Books, and rasool without making any differences between the rasool. They say, "We heard and obey (those laws).  Forgive us (for our ignorance in the past) and our ultimate destination is the one prescribed by you."

2: 286 – Allah never asks a human being to do beyond his capacity. So whatever one does (within his limits) if it is done for the good of the society, it will benefit him (by developing his personality) and the society, and if it is done for his personal material interests then he will receive the harms accordingly.

"O Allah! Do not hold us accountable for what we forgot, or did mistakenly. Allah! Protect us from man made laws, (against Your laws) unlike our predecessors (who followed their own laws, leading to their destruction). Allah guide us back to the right path if we falter away from the right path, before that we reach at a point that it is impossible to return. Take us to the destination you promised that we will achieve if we follow your laws. Help us to win against the kafireen."
