Felicia confesses to Elizabeth that she had Gregory Smith murdered.
Ethan announces he will not be leaving Heaven Beach.
Phyllis receives pictures of a battered Nicholas.
Nicholas tries to escape.
Laurie vows never to speak to Austin again.
Maria tells Ethan her father pushed her.
Sarah overhears Kyle and Elizabeth's plan.
Simone tapped on Ethan's doors carrying two empty cups and a pot of tea on a tray.
"Come in."
She opened the door and smiled at Ethan, he returned the smile.
"Simone. What's going on?"
She placed the tray on an empty nightstand and sat on the bed next to him. "I just came to talk."
He sat his journal and pen aside and took of his glasses. "Oh. Something wrong?"
"No. I just wanted to talk." She filled the two cups and handed him one. "Are you okay Ethan?"
He sipped the hot tea. "Of course… Why wouldn't I be?"
"Oh I don't know… I was just wondering."
"Trust me I don't let Noah bother me anymore. I know he doesn't like me and I've learned to deal with it."
"Yeah… uh… who was the girl…?" She asked.
"Maria, we've been friends for ages."
"She came over kind of late… Was something wrong with her?"
"Uh… no. She just wanted to talk… that's all."
She smiled and stood up. Realizing that he wasn't ready to talk about what she had overheard. "Well. I'll let you get back to writing whatever you were writing. I'm actually pretty tired. Good night."
"Good night Simone. Thank you for being so kind to me."
She nodded and walked out of the room.
"I hope she doesn't know anything…"
Elizabeth looked into Sarah's eyes. Trying to stand her ground. "I have no idea what you're talking about Sarah. Now if you don't leave me alone I will file harassment charges."
"You and I both know how paranoid Felicia is. The second I spill your plan to her she'll fire you and probably have you killed like that other guy."
"Like she'll believe you?"
"I don't know. Why don't I call her right now and find out." She took her cell phone out of her purse and punched in a number.
"Felicia Laurence."
"Hi Felicia," she said sweetly.
Elizabeth grabbed her arm. "Stop."
She smiled in triumph.
"Hello?"
"I'm sorry but I believe I have the wrong number."
"It happens. Goodbye."
She hung up her phone and put it back in her purse. "Well now, you're in quite the dilemma aren't you?"
"Okay you've had your fun. What do you want?"
"Elizabeth I shouldn't even have to tell you…"
"What the hell was that about Kyle?"
"What are you talking about?"
"I really can't believe you. How long have we been over and you already have other women coming over? Of course I'd expect it from someone like you. You can't keep your pants up for five minutes. Jesus." She slammed the door on her way out. "Asshole…"
"April--" He couldn't tell her his and Elizabeth's plan. It would be too risky. But everything would work out fine. Once Felicia was behind bars he would have his old job back and his life back. He would tell April that the whole Claire thing was staged and he would have the woman he loved back in his arms again.
"Kyle!" Claire called out from his bedroom. "What's going on?"
"I'll be there in a second." Yes… it was all staged…
Kate rang the Slater's doorbell. It was late but this was important.
Victoria opened the door in a dark green silk robe. "Inspector?"
"I apologize for coming over here so late but I need to speak with your mother, it's urgent."
"Sure. Come in." She closed the door behind Kate and called out to her mother.
Phyllis stood at the top of the stairs. "Who's there Victoria?"
"It's Kate."
She rushed down the stairs. "What is it Kate?" She asked concernedly. "Is it anything good?"
"I'm afraid not… We got a 911-phone call from a man that was cut off. Before I made a move I wanted you to identify it as Nicholas' voice." She took a tape recorder out of her pocket and pressed play.
Phyllis cupped her handover her mouth as she heard her son's frantic voice. "T-That's him…"
Victoria put her arm around her mother. "What is going to be done Kate?"
"I'm going to find out where the call came from and check it out. All I needed you to do was identify his voice. I'll keep you updated." She turned and walked out of the home.
"My poor baby…" Phyllis muttered through her tears.
Professor Campbell sat at his computer while the class took notes on the overhead. She barely got two hours of sleep last night. Tossing and turning, replaying the same scenes over and over again. She didn't realize it but in mid-thought she had dozed off.
He rose from his chair and looked at his class. He cleared his throat. "Miss Ruerup…?" He said calmly. He looked at the rest of the class and smirked. "Guess she partied a little too hard last night." He turned his attention back to Laurie and repeated, "Miss Ruerup. Are you with us?"
She jolted up and grasped her desk. "Uh-"
"Were my notes that uninteresting?"
She shook her head no. "I just didn't get much sleep last night… I'm sorry."
He smiled warmly. "It happens."
He sat on a stool by the overhead going over the notes. She studied Professor Campbell. He was young, witty, charming and no doubt attractive. He was a school favorite and she was fortunate enough to be in his class. He was very laid back, not stiff like most college professors.
He glanced as his watch. "Well everyone, our time is up for the day. See you all tomorrow." The students got up from their seats and walked out of his door.
Laurie slowly packed her things. She was caught up in the rest of her classes all she wanted to do is sleep. She stood and began to walk out of the room.
"Miss Ruerup. Can I speak with you for a moment?"
Damn. So close to sleep. "Yes?" She turned around and walked over to him.
"Is everything okay with you? Unlike a lot of my students you never pass out in class."
She finger-combed her brown hair. "I just had a rough night… that's all."
"You sure?"
"Yes."
"All right. Well don't forget the history assignment."
"Do I ever? I'll talk to you later Luke-err… Professor Campbell."
She looked at her watch as she walked down the hallway. She had time to sleep for three hours and then she could start on the history project. There was an envelope taped on her door.
Laurie -
I really need to talk to you. Please meet me in the library at four.
- Austin
She crumbled the note in her hand. "You wish…"
Sarah zipped up her suitcase and walked out of her room.
"Where are you going?" Ethan asked, still in his pajama bottoms and a plain black t-shirt.
"It's eleven in the morning… how can you not be dressed?"
He looked himself over, "hmm… I don't know."
She grinned. "Brat. I'm actually going to Tampa Bay for a couple of days."
"Why?"
"I'm going to visit a friend."
"Ah. Well. Have fun. Bring me back a present."
"Yeah. Right. I'll see you soon."
"Adieu dear cousin." He said in a dramatic voice.
"Dork." She walked down the stairs and opened the door and slightly gasped.
Amir turned around. "Hello Sarah."
"Whoa. You scared me."
He glanced at her suitcase. "I hope you're not leaving town to get away from me."
"No." She giggled. "Of course not. I'm actually going to go see my friend in Tampa Bay for a couple of days."
"Oh… Well I guess I'll leave then. I was just coming over to see if you wanted to go to lunch or something."
She noticed the disappointed expression on his face. "Hey I've got an idea. Why don't you come with me?"
"Are you kidding me?"
"No. It'll be fun. Come with me."
He smiled. "Yeah. It sounds like a great idea. But I'll need to get some clothes from my place though."
"No problem."
"All right. Road trip…"
April walked down the hallway of seven south. After her scene with Kyle she couldn't even think clearly. She was so emotionally drained. A nurse smiled and nodded at her as she walked past the nurse's station. She made a left turn and stopped suddenly, hearing "code blue" being announced over the intercom.
"Code Blue. Code Blue." Boomed the intercom speakers. She turned around and sprinted down the hallway.
"Doctor Moore. Thank God. This patient has gone into cardiac arrest."
"Somebody get me a stretcher!" She called out as she ran over to the man. An aide wheeled a stretcher in front of her. Another two male aides lifted the man unto the stretcher. April nodded at a nurse signaling her to help her perform CPR. "On my count. One." She pumped the man's chest. "Two. Three." The nurse blew air into the man's mouth. "One. Two. Three." The nurse repeated. "Get me paddles! Come on… Come on…" A nurse handed her a set of paddles. "One. Two. Clear." She pressed the paddles up against the man's chest, his lifeless body jolted up.
A nurse gently touched her arm, "Doctor Moore… it's over."
"It's not over until I say it's over. Who's the doctor around here?" She snapped back. "One. Two. Clear." Again she pressed the paddles on his chest. No reaction.
She turned and saw the man's wife burst out in tears and fall to the ground. The woman's daughter fell with her, trying to console a woman who would never see her husband alive again.
April dropped the paddles and walked away. The nurse she had snapped at ran up to her.
"Doctor Moore are you all right?"
She fought back the tears. "Y-Yes… I'm fine." She walked past her and entered the lounge room. She slumped down on the couch. "I can't believe this day…"
Laurie had been working hopelessly working on her paper for an hour. She rubbed her forehead and shrugged. "This is ridiculous…" She muttered.
"Excuse me."
"Yes?"
"I couldn't help but noticing you over here struggling. Anything I can help you with?" Philip asked the attractive girl sitting in front of him.
"Unless you have a law degree I doubt you could help me…"
"Well I am a law clerk…"
"Are you serious?"
"Mmhmm. Now what can I help you with?"
She handed him a sheet of paper. "Here's the prompt. I have no idea where to find out about this court case. None of these books have anything on it." She motioned two a pile of books beside her. "The internet is no help. And it's just been one of those days, you know?"
"I know exactly how you feel." He sat in front of the computer beside her and clicked on the internet icon. The web browser came up and he typed in a web address. He turned to look at her, "is this what you're looking for?"
"Oh my God! Yes it is. Thank you so much."
"You're welcome."
"You're a godsend. Thank you."
He rose from his chair. "If you need my help stop by the DA's office, anytime."
"All right. I might just look you up." She winked at him as she slid into the chair he was previously sitting in. "Thanks again."
"No problem. I actually have to go though. We're in court in an hour. I'm in here all the time doing research so I'm sure we'll bump into each other." And I'll be looking forward to it he added silently. "Well, then. I'll see you later." He grabbed his suitcase and walked out of the library.
"Cutie…" She said under her breath.
Felicia handed Elizabeth a folder. "The damn police department keeps bugging me about this case."
She held the folder at her side. "What's it about?"
"Some hot shot superstar got kidnapped here. They think it's the same guy that killed Kyle's secretary and tried to rape that twit April Moore. They want to take him to court and try for murder. I don't know. I don't want to deal with it."
"Well then I've got it covered." She nodded and walked out of her office.
As she sat at her desk she opened the case file. The officer in charge of the investigation was inspector Kate Weiss. She picked up the phone and dialed Kate's extension.
"Inspector Weiss."
"Hello this is Elizabeth Harper, with the DA's office. I was wondering if we could discuss a particular case I've been assigned."
"Sure. No problem."
"I'll be over in a few minutes."
"I'll be here."
Ethan knocked on the Spencer's door. He hoped Maria was home.
Maria opened the door. "Ethan…"
"Maria, look. I'm not going to apologize for last night. I stand by every word I said."
She knew she shouldn't have told him. But who else did she have to go to? Her mother wouldn't believe her. All her brother did was eat and sleep. She had no other true friends to speak of. "I know you do… But Ethan… I really don't need this right now. I'm stressed as it is. With everything around here going on and school starting back next week. I'm just drained…"
"Wait- school starts next week?"
"Yeah…"
"Oh shit…" He groaned at the thought.
"I'm sorry. But I need to go back in. I'll… talk to you later…" She closed the door before he could give her a response.
He rubbed his left temple. "What a mess…"
Austin walked into the library looking around frantically for Laurie. He spotted her at a computer cubby. He rushed over to her and put his hands on her shoulders. "Laurie… thank God you came."
"What do you want?" She glanced at her watch. Crap.
"Didn't you get my note?"
"Yeah… I got your note."
"Just please listen to me for a few minutes. What I did was a --"
Mia put her arm over Austin's chest. "Hi sweetie…" He turned around and catching him off guard she kissed him on the lips.
"Oh that is enough. I can't believe you Austin. Telling me to be here just so you can show off your little slut." She snatched up her bag and angrily walked away.
"Mia why the hell did you do that?"
"Face it honey. She doesn't want you. And I really don't see why you want her with me around. Come on now. Give up on your little school boy crush and fall in love with a real woman." She lifted an eyebrow. "You want me… Go ahead and admit it…"
Noah Robinson walked into the lounge room of seven south. April was sitting on the couch staring at the wall. He walked over and kissed her cheek. "April, honey. Are you okay?"
She tilted her head up and half smiled. "Hi Noah…"
"I heard about what happened. Everyone's worried about you. The head nurse told me you have been in here for an hour."
She stood up and brushed her pants. "Has it been that long? That's not very professional of me is it…? Now I'll be so behind. I've still got a ton of patients to check on."
"Nobody thinks you're being unprofessional. We all know you're having a rough time."
"Noah my personal life should not affect my work."
"If you need to go home I'll cover your shift."
"And do what? Sit around and cry some more? No. I don't need to do that. I need to be here. Doing my job."
"I talked to my sister today. She said the board had no problem if you took a week off to get back in the swing of things. They're not going to risk losing their best doctor."
"I don't need anyone's pity or anyone's sympathy Noah. This is something I need to work through on my own time. Now I have patients to take care of."
Amir and Sarah enter their hotel room kissing. Their hands were all over each other as she guided him towards the bed. She pushed him down on the bed and took off his shirt. She smiled at him maybe it wasn't the right way to describe a man but his was beautiful… in every sense of the word.
He pulled her towards him and kissed softly kissed her as he unbuttoned her shirt.
He was unlike any man she had ever been with, kind, caring, sensitive. He was amazing…
What did I
Do to deserve such a man so special in my life
So many days and nights
I get on the go while I sit and wait for mister right
Baby, then came you
Laidback with your sexy smile
When you move your body you just drive me wild
If you're feeling me, baby, tell me now
Because I want you, I want you
Baby, no one else
Can ever want you like I do
I'm feelin' love in the deepest fall, give you the
keys and all
Tell me what you feel
'Cause I'm feeling something real
Girl, I want you, girl, I need you
Can't you see
How this love affair would be good for you and me
'Cause baby, I swear no other man can do
The things that you do when you love me
Oh, baby, you're my lifetime fantasy
So smooth, love the way you walk
I just love to hear when you talk your talk
So if you're feeling me, baby, let me know
Because I want you, I want you
Baby, no one else
Can ever want you like I do
I feel the same way
Girl, I want you, girl, I need you
Tell me what you feel
'Cause I'm feeling something real…*
He sat in a jail cell holding a picture of her. "Come on baby… you've got to get me out of here…"
