Kate's Home

She opened the spare bedroom's door, "here's your room. I'm in the process of clearing it up for you. I'll finish it tomorrow."

He nodded and put his suitcases down on the floor.

"I, um, if you need to talk or anything…"

"No."

"Oh, okay. Demetrius, I've never done this before..." Great, Kate let the kid know you're completely clueless. "So, I guess this can be a learning experience for both of us." She stood awkwardly outside the door.

"If you don't mind, I'd really like to be alone right now." He closed the door.

She shrugged, "great going Kate."

He laid down on the bed and stared up at the ceiling. Everything had all come crashing down at once. His parents were killed, uprooted from the town he had lived in all his life and now he was here… with an aunt he barely knew. "Thanks a lot God."

The Slater Home

Victoria sat out on the back deck of the mansion, blankly gazing ahead.

Brad opened the sliding glass door and stepped onto the deck. "Victoria." He smiled.

She turned her heard to look at him, "hello Brad."

"How are you holding up?"

"I'm better… Trevor gets better everyday."

"That's good to hear." He pulled up a chair and sat beside her. He was shocked when she laid her head on his shoulders.

"Rub my head." She said softly.

He began gently caressing her hair with his fingers.

"Mother used to always rub my head when I wasn't feeling well. But of course she isn't here lately, in fact at all. I don't remember that last time I had a real conversation with her."

"Yes, your mother is very busy with the campaign. We all will just have to adjust and continue to support her."

"I miss her…"

He sighed, "I do too. Victoria, do you mind if I ask you something?"

"Of course not, go ahead."

"Do you think." He paused for a second, "do you think your mother loves me?"

"I honestly couldn't tell you Brad."

"Sometimes I wonder why we got married."

"You're not the only one." She said almost to herself.

"Your mother has said something?"

"No. Nicholas and I find the marriage, oh, never mind."

"Tell me."

She looked up at him, his eyes were pleading with her. "Brad, why did you a woman twenty years older than you?"

"I don't know Victoria, I honestly don't know…"

Rhonda's Café

Phyllis approached the counter, "darling let me speak to Rhonda." She said to the girl at the counter.

"Just one moment." She disappeared for a moment and came back out with her boss following her.

"Rhonda." She kissed her on the cheek, "how are you darling?"

"Just fine Phyllis, what can I do for you?"

She revealed the poster she was holding behind her back. "What do you think?" She looked at it. "Phyllis Miller for City Council. It has a certain, I don't know, ring to it doesn't it?"

"Well, it is beautiful, but I'm afraid you're a little too late."

"What do you mean?"

Rhonda pointed to the poster on the front window.

She groaned, "Damn that woman. Tell me Rhonda, how much did she pay you to put that up? I'll double it-wait triple it!"

"Phyllis, you should know I'm not the type to take bribes."

Phyllis twitched and raced over to the poster. She ripped it down and stared at Natasha's picture, "I'd like to punch that damned fake smile right off her face!" She balled it up. "Oh look Rhonda, now you have room to put up my poster."

The Robinson Home

"Father would you stop avoiding me?" Alexandra opened the door that was just closed in her face.

"Alexandra, I do not have time for your silly little accusations. Now if you would please let me be, I have business to attend to and it certainly does not involve you."

"You planning to have another place shot up?"

"Shut up." He said in a harsh whisper.

"I just want you to tell me the truth."

"About what?"

"Stop trying to bluff me dad, did you or did you not have that club shot up?"

"Of course I didn't, that is ridiculous. How dare you say that. Besides, why in the hell do you care?"

"I am your daughter. I'm concerned."

"Ha! My daughter? I only have one daughter. One who didn't betray me and leave for a decade."

"What are you saying?"

"You are not my daughter Alexandra."

"Y-You don't mean that--"

"Actually, I do."

"Well, that is just fine. But you should know this, Noah is not stupid. He'll figure it out. Your convenient disappearance before the shooting happened. My God, a man was almost killed because of it." She watched as he continued to ignore her, reading his papers. "You can't ignore me forever, I am your daughter whether you like it or not." She slammed the door on her way out.

Austin's Dorm

"Hey Ethan, come in." Austin stepped aside to let his younger brother in.

"Austin, has father stopped by to see you?"

"No, I actually haven't ever spoke to the man before. Why?"

"Just curious. I haven't spoken to him either. Of course I guess that would mean I'd actually have to be in the same room with him for more than a second." He took a moment to look around the surrounds. "You haven't started to pack?"

"Ethan, there's something I need to tell you. I'm not moving in."

"Oh God…" He shrugged heavily. "Things just keep getting better and better…" He slumped on the couch.

"What's wrong?" He sat down beside Ethan.

"Everything. My father moves back to town, my best friend won't speak to me and I had sex with a girl who I don't even know. I'm confused and worried and... well mostly confused."

"You had sex with a girl you don't know? When did this happen?"

"The last time I was here. When you walked out to get some air and were gone for so long."

He blinked. "It happened here?"

He ran his hand through his hair, "um, y-yeah… I'm really sorry Austin but it was just one of those once a lifetime events that you have to take advantage of, you know? I mean how many times does a beautiful woman walk into a room and five minutes later you're going at it with her…"

He became gravely serious, "What was her name?"

"Um, M something. Wow, I can't even remember the goddess' name"

"Mia?" He shouted.

"Yeah that's it! Why are you screaming?"

"Oh my God. I'm going to strangle that girl…" He got up and ran out of the dorm.

Heaven Beach State Park

Maria sat on a bench looking at the marina. The sun was beginning to set and the sight was beautiful. She often came here to clear her head and think about what her next move should be. She didn't know what to do this time, she had told Ethan she never wanted to speak to him again. He was right though, her father couldn't go on hitting her forever… but what could she do? Report him and completely destroy her family? She couldn't bring herself to do it, to bring even more heartache to such a troubled family. She was so deep in her own thoughts that she did not notice the young man sitting on the other end of the bench. She looked to the side and jumped a little.

"Sorry I didn't mean to startle you." Demetrius said solemnly.

"It's fine… I guess I didn't notice you sit down."

"My father used to tell me about how beautiful the sunset was here. I wanted to see it for myself." Not really talking to the girl in particular.

She nodded for the sake of not being rude, not really caring what he was saying. She had too much on her mind.

"I'm--"

"I'm sorry. I have to go." She rose from the bench and walked off.

The Slater Home

"You know I can't bring myself to feel sorry for you Trevor…" Sarah held his hand while sitting on a chair next to the bed. He jerked his hand away and looked away from her. "You use me to get you out of jail. Come back here, use me for sex and almost ruin my relationship with Amir. Then the by the next week you've hooked back up with Victoria and used her for only God knows what. You are a lying, cheating user and I don't feel sorry for you in the least. Karma's a bitch. How does it feel Trevor? To finally get what you deserve. You'll use Victoria until your better and then what else? Find some other stupid woman to seduce, use her for a few months then on to another and another and another. It's an endless cycle and I refuse to be a part of it. How stupid it was of me for helping you out. I should have let you rot in that cell, where you belong. You finally can't fight back can you? Completely helpless." She smiled, "I can hardly look at you now with out getting a sick feeling in my stomach."

Nicholas stood outside the cracked door, listening. He heard footsteps coming up the stairs. "Kip?" He whispered.

"Yeah." He said wondering why Nicholas was whispering.

"Shh… Go get Victoria, she's out on the patio."

"…Okay."

Austin's Dorm

He peeked out the door. Nobody. "Well I suppose he isn't coming back anytime soon." His cell phone started to ring. "Hello?"

"Ethan, its Amir are you at home?"

"No…"

"Can you get there? Sarah left me a note saying she went to go talk to Trevor, at the Slater's. It could get ugly. I'd go but I'm not anywhere close and I'd never make it in time."

"I'm on it." He hung up the phone and rushed out the door.

The Slater Home

Why did this keep happening? She wondered as, yet again, her and Brad were locked in a passionate kiss.

He pulled away and cleared his throat.

"What?"

"We have company." He nudged towards the door.

"Oh, crap…" She laughed nervously. "Um, hi Kip, do you need something?"

He stood there staring in disbelief at Victoria for a moment before coming to his senses. "Uh… Nicholas need you, upstairs."

"Is it Trevor?"

"I think so."

She jumped up knocking her chair to the ground and ran into the house.

"What's going on?" Brad asked, standing.

"I'm not sure."

"Nicholas!"

"Shh…"

"What?"

"Sarah Robinson's in there."

Her face turned red with fury, "who let her in?"

"No one, I don't know how in the hell she got in."

She swung the door open interrupting Sarah in mid-sentence. "Get out."

"Nice to see you too Victoria."

"Get out, now." She repeated as her brother walked in.

"If you don't mind I wasn't finished telling Trevor what I had to say to him."

She walked over to her and grabbed her arm, "I want you to get the hell out of my house, right now."

"Oo. Such manners."

"So help my God Sarah I'll--"

"What? You'll do what."

Victoria raised her hand and slapped Sarah, knocking her slightly off balance.

"Ow…" Nicholas muttered. This had happened before, now Sarah would grab her purse, brush roughly past me and storm out of the room.

The next slap proved Nicholas wrong. He reacted immediately as he saw Sarah almost tackle Victoria. He grabbed her around the waist and lifted her off the ground.

Sarah fought roughly against him, "put me down! This doesn't involve you!"

"I've been ready for this since high school." Victoria lunged at Sarah but was stopped when a set of arms grabbed her around the waist too. She turned her head around just enough to see who it was. "Kip let me go!" She tried to wiggle out of his grasp with no success. "Damnit Kip."

"I'm not going to be able to hold her forever Nicholas." He was turning red in the face trying to hold the fighting vixen.

"Just let me get her out of here." Nicholas walked slowly towards the door.

"Nicholas if I get an arm free I'm going to slug you and your sister!"

"That's why I'm not letting you get one free."

He reached the threshold of the door when a young man got there at the same time.

"Let her go!" He shouted as he decked Nicholas. He fell down and Sarah was able to get away from him. She laughed at him and then advanced towards Victoria.

"Nicholas get her!" Kip shouted backing away.

"Damn dude give me a minute to recover."

Brad ran upstairs hearing all the commotion from outside and as he reached the room he saw Ethan charge towards Nicholas. He was able to grab the young man just in time. "I don't think so little man."

"I'm running out of places to back into Nicholas."

Nicholas regained himself and grabbed Sarah again.

"Ethan would you mind getting him off of me?"

"I'm a little busy myself Sarah." Ethan tried to jerk away from Brad but he was too strong.

"Well this is going no where fast." Kip said sarcastically.

Phyllis and Anna walked up the driveway passing a black Jeep Cherokee. "Is that Ethan Robinson's car?" Phyllis asked as they passed it.

"I believe it is."

"Have it towed." They entered the house and Anna went straight to the phone. Before picking it up there was a loud crash from upstairs.

"What was that?"

"It sounded like it came from Victoria's bedroom."

"I'll go check it out, you stay down here."

"Here take this." Anna handed Phyllis a fire poker as she dialed a local tow truck company.

Phyllis made her way up the stairs and crept down the hallway. She looked in the room and whaled the fire poker at the first body she saw.

Brad fell to the ground taking Ethan with him.

"Brad!" Phyllis screamed dropping the fire poker. She knelt down beside him as Ethan stood up. "Darling are you okay?"

Ethan picked up the fire poker and made his way over towards Nicholas and Sarah. Sarah had managed to break free for a moment and took out a nightstand while kicking away from him.

Nicholas grabbed Sarah's wrist and kept her from getting up.

"Let her go." Ethan pointed the fire poker at Nicholas. He let go of Sarah's wrist.

"Give me that." Phyllis snatched the fire poker out of Ethan's grasp. "Both of you get out, now."

Ethan helped Sarah up. She brushed herself off, "He's just using you Victoria, just like he used me. If you were smart you'd see that."

"He loves me Sarah."

"Whatever gets you to sleep at night. Come on Ethan, let's go."

"God I wish you'd let me go Kip."

"It isn't happening."

Brad touched his bruised neck and winched in pain. He saw the mark over Nicholas' eye. "I'll go get us some ice."

"What in the hell just happened here?" Phyllis asked, looking furiously at her children.
