The Slater Home

Brad looked to her, "Victoria, let's not fool ourselves. We're obviously not getting what we need out of our current relationships."

She sat back, "what are you saying?"

"I think you know what I'm saying Victoria…"

"For your information Brad, I happen to be very happy in my relationship."

"Sure seems like it. Mute guys, so that's what you're into."

She jolted forward, "How insensitive, Brad, that is terrible."

"At least I'm honest, come on, you can't be happy going day in and day out taking care of Trevor. It's been how long? And no progression, of course they did remove the tube but that man has not muttered a sound. He's using you, Victoria, you're the only one he's fooling."

"Oh don't start that crap with me. Sarah has obviously gotten to you too."

"As much as you're going to hate to hear this, I feel it is my duty to tell you this, after all I am your stepfather."

"Stepfather!" She slouched back, "that is laughable."

He rose from his chair, walked around the desk and leaned up against it, "Sarah Robinson is right, Trevor is using you for all you're worth, it's high time you saw that man for what he truly is. If you had any sense you'd drop him back off at the trailer park you found him at."

"I do not have to stand here a listen to this any longer," she stood up, "relationship advice coming from you, a man married to a woman twenty years older than him, because that's so normal you know." She turned to walk away.

He reached out, grabbed her by her arms and turned her around. They froze for a moment, their faces near inches from each other. He made the final move, kissing her lips with a passion that he had only previously shared with her.

Le Club Populaire

"Ol' Charlie eh? That certainly is a big fish to fry." Cynthia moved forward, "and how do you suppose we go about devising our little scheme? Your brother has got to be the most ruthless man in this town, I just don't see how we're going to be able to pull it off, of course I've always loved a challenge."

"And that's why I chose you."

"Chose me?" she chuckled, "as if anyone else would put up with you."

"I want to completely ruin my brother's life, I want him to finally know what it's like to loose everything, I want his life to be in shambles by the time we're through with him. And I'll stop at nothing to accomplish it."

"I take it you haven't come up with a well-devised plan then. Figures." She sat back.

"Minor details my dear, minor details…"

Phyllis placed her purse on the table and sat down. "Mother, this had better be a good one. I was in the middle of visiting one of the nursing home, oh mother, it was just awful, it was filthy, that place must be cleaned up." She stopped the waitress, "darling, a martini." She turned back to Anna, "well, out with it."

"Maybe I just wanted to have an early dinner with my daughter, that isn't unheard of you know." She sipped her sweet tea.

"Mother, you can drop the act."

"I want you to tell me the truth, once and for all…"

Florida State Women's Penitentiary

Felicia sat in the chair and looked at Elizabeth through the glass. She smiled sarcastically, "well Elizabeth, you certainly better be glad this glass is between us."

"Oh, Felicia, I can see prison hasn't change you a bit."

"Hm," she stared at her nails, "I should could use a manicure right about now." She looked back to Elizabeth. "Well?"

"How are you doing?" She asked with a hint of curiosity.

"I'm doing just fine," she flipped her wrist, "I just love being in containment every moment of everyday and oh, dear, I just love having to fight to survive. I must admit though, I handle myself quite well though. " She slumped back in her chair. "Why did you do it Elizabeth? You had no real reason, you had it set under me, did you just do it for the hell of it? Get some kind of thrill ruining people's lives?"

"You needed to be brought to justice, Felicia, a woman as wicked as you, well, karma was taking to long to catch up with you."

"Elizabeth, I don't believe you have much room to talk, of course you always were the biggest hypocrite I know. So, I take it Kyle has been reinstated as district attorney? My God, a damned chimpanzee has more of clue about law then that fool."

"Oh you didn't hear?"

She leaned forward, "I don't have much contact with the outside world."

"Kyle's gone. He moved away to some town out in Colorado."

She chuckled, "classic Kyle, always taking the coward's way out…"

Le Club Populaire

"…And Cynthia, it seems that luck is playing in our favor, dear Charles is returning to Washington tonight. He won't be back for at least a month, probably longer than that, so we have plenty of time to devise a perfect, bulletproof plan."

She put out her second cigarette and grabbed her purse, "well it would seem luck is on our side." She stood up, "Jacob, it's always a pleasure. We'll meet again soon, but I fear I have an appointment that I'm already late for. Putting you first as always. Goodbye."

"Wait, meet me tonight. I've been renting one of the penthouses at the Heaven Beach Hotel."

She smirked, "oh Jacob…" she sighed, "couldn't wait a moment longer to get me in bed, could you?" She shook her head, "I'll be there at eight. Now goodbye." She sashayed out of the restaurant.

"What a woman…"

"The truth about what? What in the devil are you talking about?" She drank some of her martini.

"You're not going to avoid it this time, I want to know why you married Brad and don't give me that phony love speech." She shrugged, "if I hear it one more time I think I will throw up."

"Always could see right through me, couldn't you mother? Well, I don't admit it often, but as you know I am a glutton for money. I met Brad at the country club one night, he was upset, his heart had just been broken by some girl, I mended him and well, you know my social-magnetism, the poor boy fell under my spell just like that." She snapped her finger to emphasize how quickly Brad fell under her spell.

She scuffed, "Now I know I'm going to throw up. Phyllis, you kill me."

"It was his idea to get married and, of course, I didn't object. For God's sake mother, his family is worth over a hundred million dollars! I'd be an idiot to object."

"Honey, couldn't you have set him up with Victoria? That would seem more reasonable."

"You know good and well how Victoria is, she's not going to marry anyone for money, I don't know where she got that from, she would have never had stood for it." She stopped, "I just don't know about that girl…"

"You amaze me, you're actually upset your daughter has morals!" She drank the rest of her tea and stood up, "I have heard quite enough!"

The Slater Home

Victoria pulled his suit jacket off and began frantically unbuttoning his shirt. Once his shirt was off she ripped off his belt. She wasn't thinking of anything but Brad at the moment and how she wanted him so badly. The two had had sexual tension built up since the first time they had seen each other and this was the climax - making love on her mother's desk. She shrugged away the thought as she kissed his chest.

Florida State Women's Penitentiary

"Well, lucky you, you've become the district attorney of Heaven Beach, I'm so thrilled. And who is your assistant DA?"

She sucked in a deep breath, "Jonathan Winters, mm… quite a hunk of a man, if I do so say myself."

"And probably not an ounce of brain in his head! Oh Elizabeth, you amuse me so. You involved with him?"

"Not yet… but it won't be much longer."

She sat upright, "you really do amuse me my poor friend. Ready to jump into bed with any man who gives you a bit of attention, you've always been that way. But trust me you'll manage to wreck this one, like you have all the others. Men don't respect you, they get you in their beds a few times and then throw you out like the piece of trash you are. You're so pathetic." She began to stand, "I believe we're done here. Thank you though, you've been the highlight of my day."

The Robinson Home

"Thank you for coming with me tonight Demetrius, it means a lot." Kate and her nephew stepped up on the porch and she rang the doorbell.

"Oh yeah, hanging out with old people, just my kind of fun." He crossed his arms and looked away.

She sighed but smiled quickly when Charlotte opened the door. "Hello my dear, don't you look absolutely beautiful tonight, ohh and who is this handsome young man?"

"Hi Charlotte, this is my nephew, Demetrius."

"I'm glad you could join us, come in, make yourselves at home." She moved out of their way as they entered the home. "We're in the dining room." They followed her into the room. They all exchanged formal greetings with one another. Charlotte guided Demetrius towards Ethan, "Demetrius I would like you to meet my grandson, Ethan, he goes to Heaven Beach High as well."

Ethan put out his hand, "nice to meet you."

Demetrius nodded his head, "I saw you in the spring musical." He sat down beside Ethan, "there's like ten people in here, I don't remember any of their names."

"All right, at the head of the table is my Uncle Charles, to his left is Noah, Simone, his wife, Sarah, her boyfriend Amir, to Charles' right is my grandmother, Charlotte, you obviously know Kate, and I." Demetrius still looked confused trying to sort out all their names, "don't worry, you'll learn their names soon enough, trust me, none of them are alike in the least."

"Who does the black Lexus belong to?"

"Mine. It was a present from my father, still trying to buy my love, it's pathetic, rolls?" He handed Demetrius the roll basket.

Le Club Populaire

Alexandra smiled at the handsome man on the other side if the bar for the third time since she had been there. She had been waiting for some blonde bombshell to walk in any moment and sit beside him. She glanced at her watch, it had been thirty minutes, maybe there was no blonde bombshell. She drank the last bit of her rum and coke and rose from her stool. She walked around to the other side of the bar. "Hi."

"Well, hello there."

Rich southern accent. Very attractive. "I'm Alexandra Robinson, do you mind if I join you?"

"Of course not, sit, what are you drinking?" He motioned to the bartender.

"Rum and coke."

"Rum and coke for the lady," he nodded to the bartender and turned his attention back to Alexandra, "excuse me for being terribly rude, I'm Jonathan Winters."

"Jonathan Winters? I didn't know we had such a handsome district attorney." She smiled, "you here alone?"

"Kind of, I was suppose to meet a colleague here, but I think she stood me up." He explained.

She. Damnit. "Isn't that nice?" She forced a smile.

"Are you here alone as well?" He placed his elbow on the bar and turned facing her.

"Oh, that I am." She sipped her drink.

"What a shame. A beautiful woman should never be without an escort."

"I've sent my beaux away for the evening." They both chuckled.

Elizabeth rushed over to the bar, "oh God, Jonathan, I'm so sorry to have kept you waiting."

"It's fine, come sit down." He moved his briefcase out of the chair beside him.

"I really am sorry," she noticed the woman sitting next to him, she put on a fake smile, "who's your new friend."

"This is Alexandra, Alexandra this is my colleague, Elizabeth Harper."

Alexandra smiled smugly, "charmed, I'm sure."

Heaven Beach General Hospital

Doctor Harris de Paul stepped out of Mia's room and shut the door behind him.

"How is she?" April asked as she approached him, Austin following closely behind.

"Miss Brooks is doing fine, as soon as he left the room, she became calm again and returned to a normal state of mind. It was as if she was in some sort of trance though, she didn't remember anything, why she was here, what had happened, nothing. We discussed her coming in for a few visits with me. There is certainly nothing wrong with her physical state and I see no reason to keep her over night. Of course, that is your call Doctor Moore. But as you well know, I am a busy man, I can't stand around here dilly dallying, so saving the formalities, good day." He walked over to Austin, "as for you, young man, I don't want you anywhere near that girl until her and I have met, in private." With that, Harris walked down the hallway.

"I know what you're thinking, but trust me he is an excellent therapist." She looked at her watch, "my shift is over in a few minutes, I'll check out Mia and take her home. I know you did nothing wrong, but as Harris said, just not so nicely, I think it'd be best if you weren't around Mia for the next week or so." She patted him on the back, "don't worry, she's in good hands, I promise."

Florida State Women's Penitentiary

Felicia rolled her eyes. Another visitor. "Back for more Elizabeth--" She stopped herself and looked at the woman on the other side of the glass. She took a deep breath, "Natasha Robinson, do my eyes deceive me?"

"My God, Felicia, how in the hell did you end up here…"
