Philip's Apartment
"You know what Philip? I'm sick of it!" Laurie said angrily, entering his apartment, she threw her purse on a nearby table. "I'm sick of you acting like this, all the time. So what? I introduced myself to some people and got someone's number! You don't have to know everything I do."
"Oh really? So you getting another man's number shouldn't be a concern to me at all?" He spat back.
"Damnit Philip! He doesn't even matter, it's not like I'm going to call him up and go fuck him!"
"How do I know that?"
"What did you say?" She stepped up in his face, "I cannot believe you, if you don't trust me then what the hell is the point in all this huh? What the hell is the point of us being together?" She grabbed her purse, "I'm so over it Philip, good night." She slammed the door on her way out.
He ran into the bedroom and grabbed his laptop, once it was done loading he brought up the video cameras installed in Laurie's bedroom, "What are you up to Laurie Ruerup? I bet you are calling that guy, just to get to me, well, I won't play your little games." He tossed the laptop aside and laid down on the bed, "great, I'm in love with a whore."
The Slater Home
Victoria slung her keys on the table, walking into the Slater home, "God! I cannot stand that vial woman!" She touched her right temple, her head was throbbing, "I hate her Trevor, I hate her."
Trevor embraced her, "I know, honey, I know."
"And you dated her!" She moved away from him, "Trevor, if you were looking for another Sarah Robinson because the current one is unavailable, then you're dating the wrong woman."
He touched her cheek and looked her straight in the eye, "I don't want Sarah, I want you. And, besides, if I wanted Sarah, I could have her, in the blink of an eye. But, I don't, Victoria, I love you."
"Trevor, I just wanted a quiet evening out with you, my boyfriend, it's bad enough I live next door to the woman but she has to follow me everywhere I go!" She was red in the face with anger.
Brad entered the foyer, "Victoria I--"
"Shut up Brad! Not now!" She snapped back at him.
"It's Kip, I think there's something wrong with him." He explained.
Her tone changed suddenly, "Kip? Where is he?"
"Out in the poolhouse."
"Well, move," she said brushing past him. She ran over the lawn and to the one-bedroom poolhouse in the backyard. She knocked and entered, "Kip, honey?"
Kip lie on the floor, babbling incoherent words.
She knelt down beside him, "honey, what's wrong?"
"Good ol' Vickey! Here have some of this… stuff," he slurred.
She took the almost empty tequila bottle out of his hand, "aw, Kip, this isn't the answer." She touched the side of his face, "Victoria's going to fix you some coffee and make everything all better, okay?"
"Mmhmm…" he mumbled.
"Here, let's sit you on the couch," she helped him to the couch where he slouched down.
"You know, Vickey, you're a good person."
"Wow, you really do need that coffee don't you?" She smiled, "I'll be back in just a minute."
The Robinson Home
Noah guided his wife out of the living room, where they could have some privacy. "Simone, what do you mean we're moving?"
They sat together on the stairs, "Noah, you remember when we last spoke of this? Before we were married, I was unhappy living here, your sister and I weren't getting along."
"Yes, I remember, but things are better now." He reminded her.
"That's right Noah, things are better," she lied, "Sarah has finally gotten her life under control, she isn't getting ripped every night and causing a huge commotion around here, Ethan is here, your mother and sister are back, your uncle is back in town--"
"What are you getting at?"
"You said the only reason you didn't want us to move out was because there was no one to take care of your grandmother, but now there is. And you know I love Charlotte, but we have to start thinking about us, about our future, not your family and all of its troubles. I want a life together, with just you, no strings attached." She paused and looked deep within her husband's eyes, "and we can't get that living under one roof with your family, not only is it not normal, it isn't fair. This was going to happen eventually, because there is no way, I'm raising our children in this house. I love you Noah, God knows it, but I won't have my children raised around your father. So, let's go ahead and get this over it, let's move out."
He took in a deep breath, "is this what you really want? Is this what will make you happy?"
"Yes."
"Then how can I say no?" He kissed her briefly, "You know I would do anything to make you happy."
"Thank you Noah, thank you."
He rose, "now all I'll have to do is find some way to explain this to my family." He stretched his arms up in the air, "I'm going to go upstairs and get ready for bed."
"Okay," she kissed him, "I'll be up in a few minutes." Once he disappeared she sat back down, this is what had to be done. She had to protect her life with Noah, and she would do anything to keep her happiness, anything.
Maria's House
Demetrius knocked on the door, Maria answered it, like the times before. "Hi," he said unsurely.
She looked at him for a moment, "hi."
"Look, I'm sorry, things got out of control, I was out of control. I should have never endangered you like that, I'm just… sorry."
She smiled, "I know you are."
"You want to hang out, or something?"
"Sure, just keep the speedometer under fifty, okay?" She laughed.
"Yeah, I think that would be a good idea." He climbed into his car. "Where do you want to go?"
"It doesn't matter to me." She smiled again, as she looked him over, what was it that was so different about him and why was she so drawn towards him?
April's Apartment
"April, wait," he took her hands in his, "don't do this."
"What? Why not?"
"April, I'm not the one night stand kind of guy, despite what you may think, I can't do this, I won't."
Her eyes teared up, she gasped for air, "oh, God, Harris, I'm sorry." She threw her arms around him, "I just don't know what to do, Kyle was the love of my life, I was whole with him, and now he's gone, he's half way across America and I don't know what to do. I don't know who I am without him. I just want him, so badly, I need him."
Harris brought his arms around her and pulled her in a strong, tight hold, "April, I had no idea this had been so hard on you."
"My God Harris, it's been six months since he's been gone! And everyday begins and I miss him more and more. I can't do this anymore, I can't go on feeling this, this empty."
He moved her in front of him and looked her in the eyes, "then you know what you must do."
"What? What can I do?"
"You must go to him, you must go to Pinőn Hallow and bring him back."
"I can't do that, he's moved on… with some blonde bimbo doctor." She shrugged, "a blonde bimbo, always his ideal woman." She shook her head.
"Wait a minute, how do you know this?"
"Harris, I saw it on National Television!" She exclaimed.
Austin's Dorm
Laurie paused for a moment before knocking on the door. She sighed, still upset from her argument with Philip, not only was that not bad enough, but she had to turn to the man she almost had a relationship with for comfort.
Ethan opened the door, and to his surprise, he came face to face with Laurie Ruerup, "Laurie, um, hi, come in." He turned around as he walked in front of her. "Austin, Laurie is here to see you," he said with a gleaming smile.
"Laurie, hey, what's up?" He said coming into the room with only pajama bottoms on and drying his hair with a towel.
"Austin, can we talk?" She asked, fully entering the living area.
"Oh, you know what, I need to get a breath of fresh air, I'll just leave you two alone." Ethan said, making a quick exit.
She embraced Austin once Ethan was out the door, she began crying, "Austin, I've never needed you more before in my life." She managed.
"I'm here Laurie, I'm here," he said rubbing her back.
Outside the door, Ethan listened in. He moved away from the door, "how exciting, now, all I have to do is get rid of this Philip guy." He pulled a business card out of his pocket, Paradise Escort Services, Ethan let out a laugh, "this guy doesn't stand a chance…"
The Slater Poolhouse
Victoria brought Kip a second cup of coffee; she rubbed his head, "you feeling better?" She sat on the arm of the couch, next to him.
"Yeah," he said still out of it, "I've sobered up, for the most part." He took a long drink from his coffee.
"So, you want to tell me what you're upset about?"
"I really don't want to talk about, but thanks anyway."
She looked away, "I know how that is…"
"Wow, I'm really not feeling well, I think I'm going to lay down."
Victoria took his empty coffee mug and took it back to the kitchen, when she returned she found Kip fast asleep on the couch. She walked over to the closest and pulled out a spare blanket, she covered Kip with it and kissed him on the forehead, "my poor Kip…"
The Beach
April breathed in the fresh, salty air as she sat on the sand and stared off at the ocean.
"April, are you out here?" Harris called out into the darkness.
She clicked on her flashlight and shone the light in his direction.
He sat close beside her, "are you feeling better?"
She rested her head on his shoulder, "Kyle and I use to walk out here and sit in this very spot and just stare out at the ocean. It took us a few times to learn the flashlight trick," she sighed, "thank you Harris, for being here, I really need a friend right now."
"If you ever need me, I'm just a phone call away. I promise to leave the physiatrists at home."
She looked up at him, he had a nice smile.
The Robinson Home
Simone leaned up and kissed her husband, "I love you," she whispered out of breath as their bodies moved as one. "I never want this end Noah, being here, with you, I never want it to end…"
Outside The Robinson Home
A man in the shadows stomped on his cigarette butt. She had to have gotten the letter by now. He looked up at the large mansion, Simone had done well for herself, maybe too well. "I won't let you forget Simone, not now that I've found you again, I will get my revenge." The man disappeared into the darkness.
