1310 Marriott Court
Simone’s heels sent loud echoes throughout the empty house. “This is beautiful,” she said, standing in the main hall of the house, staring up at the spiral staircase and chandelier above her head.
“The house was built in 1999, and was owned by a retired couple. The husband passed away last year and the wife was soon to follow. Their only daughter was given the house, but with her living in Maine, the house is of little use to her.” The realtor agent continued, “to your right if the main dining area, kitchen and bar. To your left is the living room, den and billiard. Down the hall are two guest suites, with their own private bath. If you will follow me upstairs you can see the master suite.”
She followed the realtor up to spiral, carpeted stairwell. This is perfect, on the outskirts of town, woods surrounding the house, secluded. Ashton would never find her here. “I can’t wait for my husband to see the house,” she said, entering the master suite. “He’ll absolutely adore it.”
Sea Escape Townhouses – 6A
Demetrius and Maria sat on his bed, talking. They had been spending a lot of time together as of late. He gazed at her beautiful face, which was profile. Her dark, flowing hair, her wide, brown eyes, her full lips. “Maria,” he said softly.
She turned her head towards him, “yes?”
He leaned in and kissed her lips softly. They fell back on the bed, Demetrius on top of her.
She kissed him back passionately, holding onto his back, she breathed in deeply, their bodies touching. Her hands glided down his back and to the bottom of his t-shirt, she began to pull it upwards, once it reached his shoulders, he sat up, “are you sure about this?” He asked.
“Yes,” she completely removed his shirt. “Make love to me Demetrius.” Finally, she thought to herself, someone that loved her for who she was. Someone who genuinely cared for her and didn’t try to mold her into someone they wanted her to be.
Doctor Harris de Paul’s Office
“Thank you for all your help, Mister Chazel, it is greatly appreciated.” He stood up and shook Amir’s hand.
“It was no problem, if there’s anything more that I can do, I’m just a phone call away.” He said, reaching the door.
Harris nodded, “enjoy the rest of your day.”
Amir, once outside the door, was met with a tearful Sarah who threw her arms around him immediately. “Oh God, Amir, I’m sorry.”
He placed his hands softly on her waist, “what for Sarah?”
“The way I acted this morning, it was wrong, all you’re trying to do is help this girl. Hell, she’s probably not that much different from when I was her age. I’m sorry, I won’t stand in your way again. I just want to be with you so badly, I love you Amir, so much. And I’m terribly selfish, you know? I don’t want to share you with anyone.” She looked up into his eyes, “I love you.”
He wrapped his arms around her and brought her close, “shh, everything’s okay.” He began rubbing her head, “I love you Sarah, and you’re the only woman I want to be with, ever.”
The Slater House
“There’s only one thing to do,” Victoria said aloud, rubbing her abdomen. “I’ve got to do what’s best for you, little one.” With a deep breath, she opened her bedroom door. Her eyes and Trevor’s met. “Pack your things, I want you out tonight. I’ve had the summerhouse in Key West prepared for your arrival, and there is a check awaiting you there. Once you leave, I don’t care to have any contact with you, you’ll have no need for me. You’ll have a house and a healthy nest egg and that’s really all you’ve ever wanted out of me.” She placed airline tickets on the desk. “You’re plane leaves at nine tonight. I’ll have someone sent up to help you pack your things.” She rushed out of the room as quick as possible to avoid a confrontation.
Safely out the door, she let a single tear fall down her cheek. “I’ll miss you terribly, Trevor, but you’ve never had my best interests at heart, and I doubt you would for our child.” She sighed, if it was even his child to begin with. Oh well, one down, one more to go. This one, however, would be much more difficult to get rid of.
Le Club Populaire
Cynthia pulled Jacob by his arm out into the alley behind Le Club Populaire. “What the hell are you doing in there?” She was referring to, just a few moments ago, seeing Jacob having an early dinner with his sons. “Have you completely lost your mind? Are you trying to destroy our plan?”
“My sons are not apart of our plan,” he snapped.
“Oh ho,” she laughed, “your sons, huh? Since when were you striving to be father of the year? Hm?” She shook her head, “you’ll get burnt out in a few months, you’ll toss them aside.”
“Well, if that’s true, than I’m going to be the best father I can to them for the next few months,” he retorted. “You leave my sons out of this Cynthia, you got that? Are one, and only, target is Charles, my brother, not my sons.”
“I got it,” she rolled her eyes, “I’ll be at your place at nine, be there.”
Jacob approached the booth, “sorry about that guys, I had to take care of some important business.”
Alexandra, with her arm linked to her date walked towards her Uncle. “Uncle Jacob, how are you?” She kissed him on the cheek.
“Alexandra, what a pleasant surprise,” he smiled, “won’t you join us? That is, if your date doesn’t mind.” He stuck out his hand, “Jacob Robinson, pleased to meet you.”
“Jonathan Winters,” he shook the man’s hand. “It would be an honor to join you, I have yet to meet any of Alexandra’s family.”
“I was going to start him off easy, Jacob,” Alexandra explained, “you know, first a lunch date with grandmother, then Sarah, and so forth.” She smiled at Ethan, “hi.” Her focused shifted to the young man sitting next to Ethan. “I’m Alexandra Robinson, and you are?”
“Austin, this is your cousin, Alexandra. Charles and Natasha’s oldest,” Jacob clarified.
“So, you’re the infamous Austin? My, my, I haven’t been meddling in our family’s affairs recently. I suppose this is the night for introductions.” She sat beside Austin. “Of course, I don’t blame you for staying away, trust me, we three are the tamest of the vipers. Except for grandmother, who isn’t a viper at all.” She smiled again. “I am glad we finally got to meet each other.”
The Slater Poolhouse
“You ready for this?” Brad said, looking up at the ceiling, as the two laid next to each other, the sheet covering their otherwise naked bodies.
“I am,” she kissed him briefly on the cheek, “I can’t wait to get my hands on all that money. It’ll be our biggest victory yet.” She laughed, “Let’s make love, while you’re still Brad Miller. Sweet, kind, caring, boy next door Brad,” she giggled, “those fools!” She moved on top of him and began kissing him as her hands moved all across his body.
His mind drifted away from the fiery red head caressing his body to the brilliant blonde, Victoria Slater. He had actually grown feelings for her over the past year, too bad all contact with her would end soon. He wished he had made love to her one last time. With his eyes closed, he moved her on top of her, “Victoria,” he said passionately.
“Excuse me!?” Lydia screeched.
“Uh-Victoria, I can’t wait to, um, see her face, you know, when we make our big announcement.”
“Oh, yeah, me either…” She said with uncertainty
The Slater House – Several Hours Later
“I really do love you,” Trevor said, with a hint of sadness, plane ticket in hand and bags to his side. “I hope you realize that before it’s too late.” He sighed, “At first, I really was in it for the money, and, the sex, but that changed, Victoria. We shared something, something I have never shared with another human being my entire life, even Sarah. You nursed me back to health. You were there by my side every day. I’ll never forget that. I’d like to think, being intimate with you made me a better person.”
She approached him slowly, taking in her last few moments with him. She really loved him too, she thought silently, so badly wanting to speak the words she thought. She stood in front of him, drinking in his features, she touched his strong jaw line gently, she gazed into his deep blue eyes, and took one last look at his full lips, which she had kissed time after time. She would have liked to kiss him one last time, but denied herself the pleasure. She hugged him briefly and looked into his eyes, “Trevor, you know what they say, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Goodbye, Trevor, maybe one day you’ll change and realize how hard this was for me.”
“It doesn’t have to--”
She cut him off by placing her index finger on his lips, “shh, go, please, you’re dragging this on so.” With that, she turned around and hearing the door close, winced in pain.
I hope you're happy
I hope you're happy too
I hope you're proud how you would
Grovel in submission
To feed your own ambition
So though I can't imagine how
I hope you're happy
Right now.
Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by
The rules of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes
And leap..
Victoria lay on her bed, crying, there was on one around to comfort her. Her mother had taken Kip with her to Pinon Hallow, her brother and grandmother had go to her aunt’s for Thanksgiving.
She closed her eyes as her door opened quietly. A tall, built man moved across the room and onto her bed.
She looked up at him, “w-what--” she managed before he shushed her.
“You know the old saying, when the cat is gone the mice will play.” He moved on top of her, completely nude.
She leaned up and kissed him, she didn’t care at this point. It was comfort and some comfort it was.
It's time to try Defying Gravity
I think I'll try Defying Gravity
And you can't pull me down
I'm through accepting limits
Cuz someone says they're so
Some things I cannot change
But till I try I'll never know
Too long I've been afraid of
Losing love I guess I've Lost
Well if that's love
It comes at much too high a cost
Trevor peered out the airplane’s window and sighed. He had lost her again, to his own stupidity. And now he would never get her back…
I'd sooner buy Defying Gravity
Kiss me goodbye, I'm Defying Gravity
And you can't pull me down!
There's no fight we cannot win
Just you and I, Defying Gravity
With you and I Defying Gravity
Ashton stood in his small motel room over a picture of Simone. He brought flame to it and it slowly began to burn. “I’ll have my revenge yet, you murdering bitch.”
I really hope you get it
And you don't live to regret it
I hope you're happy in the end
I hope you're happy my friend
So if you care to find me
Look to the Western sky!
As someone told me lately
Everyone deserves the chance to fly
And if I'm flying solo
At least I'm flying free
To those who ground me
Take a message back from me!
Tell them how I am Defying Gravity
I'm flying high, Defying Gravity
And soon I'll match them in renown
No one is ever gonna bring Me Down!
I hope you're happy...
Laurie walked into Austin’s dorm and was met with a surprised look, “Listen,” she spoke, “Austin I can't do this anymore its you and only you. I can't live this lie any longer.”
