Austin Dorm
Ethan rushed into Austin’s dorm, “I came as fast as I could.” Austin turned around to face his brother. A gun was tucked into his pants. “Austin, what the hell is going on?”
“Come on, time’s a factor.” He began to walk out the door.
Ethan grabbed his brother’s arm, “tell me what is going on.”
“Laurie’s physco boyfriend has locked her up in his bedroom, he’s kidnapped her and she needs our help.”
“Jesus, our family never catches a damn break.” Ethan said, closing the door and jogging to catch up with Austin. “How ugly is this going to get?”
“Ugly,” Austin said plainly.
Philip’s Apartment
“Why couldn’t you just love me?” He had her bound to a chair and was caressing her face with his hand.
“Don’t touch me, you disgust me,” she sneered.
“Why are you doing this to me—to us—you love me Laurie, don’t you remember? Not him. You told me you loved me and you meant it.”
Once his finger moved to her lips she bit him angrily and was met with a hard slap.
“You fucking bitch! You’ll love me whether you like it or not!” He shouted, the veins in his neck throbbing, “you’re not going to mess up our plans. We’re going to buy a house, get married and have lots of children. That’s our dream. Do you understand me?”
“In a year you never told me what to do and you’re not going to start now. What did you think this was going to get you? Hm? How long are you going to continue this charade? We’re through, get over it, no matter what you do you will never have me again.”
He jerked out his gun and pointed in her face, she gasped. “I’ll continue this until you realize the error of your ways you filthy whore.” He tore off her shirt, “You will be mine, Laurie Ruerup, no matter what I have to do to make that so.” He ripped off his belt and removed his jeans and undergarments. “I’ll do anything to have you.”
“You’re a pig!” She shouted through her tears as he began to slide her skirt off.
“You never complained before, why start now darling?” He said sarcastically, reaching for her panties.
The Slater Home
“Brad, darling, is this really necessary? Kip and I just came home—the flight was so long. I just want to relax, take a nice, long hot bath and go to bed. You wouldn’t believe what I’ve been through.” Phyllis said wearily, sitting on the couch with Victoria, Nicholas, Anna and Kip.
“Phyllis, my love, without any interruptions, this should be over quickly.” Brad cleared his throat, ready to drop a bombshell on the Slater family, “it all began last Christmas, Phyllis and I were married, without a prenuptial agreement.”
“Big shock,” Victoria said sarcastically.
“I saw in Phyllis not the perfect wife but the perfect, how to say this gingerly, opportunity.”
“Opportunity?” Anna said, not understanding where this was going.
“Oh, yes, rich, southern, gold-digging diva. She was completely blind-sided to my plan. I guess you can say that I gave her a little taste of her own medicine.” He looked at Nicholas and Victoria, “see, kids, your darling mother married Brad Miller Junior, heir to the Miller fortune and being the only Miller child he would inherit everything and Brad Miller Senior was deathly ill around the same time I married your mother. However, Brad Miller Junior died three years ago in a terribly fatal car accident.” He glanced at Lydia and turned his focus back to Victoria and Nicholas, “when you two went on your little research escapade you seemed to have overlooked that major detail. Lucky for Lydia and I, your negligence bought us more time to devise the perfect plan.”
“What does all this boil down to Brad?” Victoria asked, “cut to the chase.”
“Always so quick to get to the point, well my point, this time, won’t be as enjoyable as it has in the past.” Brad winked at Victoria and she was immediately shot with looks from Lydia and Phyllis, Victoria shifted uncomfortably. “I have here a legal document of divorce,” he placed it in front of the family. “It’s so easy to get a quickie divorce these days.” He looked at the stunned Phyllis, “your little plan bit you right in the ass, didn’t it?”
Phyllis covered her mouth with her hand, staring at the document in complete disbelief.
“So, now I’m entitled to half of everything—the house, the store, most importantly, the money.” He wrapped his arm around Lydia’s waist and Victoria felt strangely jealous, “Lydia and I have become quite attached your humble of ode Phyllis, and since half of it is legally mine now, we’re staying. I’ve had your things moved to one of the guest rooms as we have already taken over your bedroom suite.” Brad rose and still attached to Lydia, walked out of the room, “hey babe, let’s go break in our new sheets.”
“Well this is fantastic, absolutely fantastic. Merry Christmas everyone.” Anna said dryly, before walking out of the room as well.
1310 Marriot Court
Simone lay in her husband’s grip on their couch. He gently stroked her hair as he began to speak, “The guy that looked at the fireplace couldn’t find anything wrong with it. We’re lucky that the alarm went off and they were able to reach you in time. I still can’t understand what would make that alarm magically come on.”
She brought her hand up to his face and looked up at him, “let’s stop worrying about it, I probably forgot to ignite the fire and maybe an animal or something tripped the alarm. I’m fine and safe and that’s all that matters.”
He kissed her forehead, “exactly.”
She breathed heavily for a moment, exasperated from her trying week. But, now, at least, she was safe, safely wrapped up in her husband’s arms. She nuzzled up as close as she could and drifted off to sleep.
He too fell asleep after a few minutes, neither aware of the man watching them in the shadows.
He stamped out his cigarette on the ground and muttered a swear, “I’ll get you sooner or later Simone.” He warned, walking off into the darkness.
Heaven Beach General Hospital
April approached a disgruntled-looking Elizabeth and always calm and collected, Kate. “Hey ladies, make this as quick as you can, busy night.”
“We understand, we just wanted to let you in on a little information that could turn out badly if she makes it here.” Kate began, “April, Felicia Laurence escaped from prison two nights ago, it hasn’t been leaked to the press for the obvious embarrassment of the state prison. Elizabeth and I were warned and we felt the need to pass it on to you. I think it’s pretty obvious why she escaped, in theory, the authorities will catch her before she makes it here, however, if that doesn’t happen, just be safe, okay? Don’t stay alone, don’t put yourself in any potential danger until she is caught. Trust me, if she makes it here, my force will certainly catch her.”
April sighed, “thanks for the warning, call me if you get any updates, but I need to get back to my patients. You two be safe as well.” She walked away and entered the employee lounge a few minutes later. She sat down, picked up the phone and dialed a number.
“Hey this is Kyle, I can’t come to my phone right now, leave me a message and I’ll call you back as soon as possible.”
“Hey Kyle, it’s April. I just wanted to call and see how you were. I’ve seen better days, but that’s how life goes right? I miss you… please call me. I think I might be running into a difficult situation and I need your guidance, or something,” she took in a deep breath, “I hope you’re doing well, uh, yeah, just please call me when you get the chance… bye…” She put the phone on the hook and straightened out her uniform.
The Slater Home
Victoria walked down the hallway to find Brad’s study light on. She slowly pushed open the door and their eyes met. This was completely wrong, but she couldn’t help herself.
She went to him, he was sitting behind his desk. She slowly began caressing his hair and neck. She moved her hands to his shoulder and massaged them with great care. “I can’t seem to keep myself away from you,” she whispered in his ear before moving her lips to the side of his neck. “Ever since I first met you,” she swiveled the chair so that they were facing each other. She looked into his eyes, “those captivating blue eyes,” she touched his cheek, “those dimples,” she grinned, moving her fingers to his lips, “those lips.” She brought her face close to his and they met in a passionate lock. He got out of the chair and the pair ended on the floor still kissing. Her hands glided down his back and to the top of his pajama bottoms, she pulled them down slowly. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I want you so badly,” she said, panting. He removed his shirt and began to take off her silk robe.
“I’ve tried to stay away,” he confessed, “you were the only flaw in the plan. I wasn’t suppose to fall for you.”
“Brad, Elliot, whatever your name is, take me, right here, this may be out last time…”
“Together,” he completed her thought. He gently pressed inside of her and they began slowly moving together. With one hand on his chest, and one in his hair, she leaned up and kissed him, savoring every last moment with him.
“I love you,” he said with heavy breaths. “I don’t know when it happened, or why, but I’ve never felt this way before.”
She bit her lower lip in pleasure and sucked in a deep breath, “I never want this to end.”
“Neither do I,” he found himself wishing things would have turned out differently. That he would have never married Phyllis, never come to Heaven Beach, never would have met her, the only flaw in his plan was her… He kissed her again, enjoying their last time together. The calm before the storm. Who knows what tomorrow had in store for him, but that didn’t matter, for at this minute he was completely satisfied, for the first time ever.
Heaven Beach Train Station
Quinn Ruerup stepped off of the train, luggage in hand. He got into the limo waiting for him outside of the station. He had returned to the town filled with so much heartache for him, only to ensure Laurie’s happiness.” He brought out a picture, which was several years old. He glanced at the beautiful woman. He didn’t plan on making contact with her though. Heaven Beach is such a small town, they were bound to run into each other eventually. He would deal with it when the time came, until then, Victoria Slater was just a figment of the past, a past he had no intentions of reliving.
A black-clad figure quickly darted off the train and into the streets of Heaven Beach. Her face was covered with a hood and all she carried was a black purse. Felicia sneered at the police station as she passed it. She had traveled and waited a long time to bring reckoning to her enemies. She grabbed a poster announcing the town masquerade. Perfect. She smiled wickedly. Absolutely perfect.
Outside of Philip’s Apartment
“You ready for this?” Austin asked his younger brother.
He was surprisingly calm, Ethan thought. “Oh yeah.”
Austin brought out the gun and opened the door ever so gently. A noise came from the bedroom and the brothers waited outside the door for a moment, anticipating what was inside. Austin nodded, signaling he was ready. A scream came out from the bedroom and Austin kicked down the door.
In a brief few seconds, Philip turned and grabbed his gun, while Austin pointed the barrel towards Philip and Ethan rushed to Laurie, on the bed.
A neighbor, two doors down, dialed 911 after hearing a gun shot.
“Ethan!” Laurie screamed in horror, leaping towards the young man.
