--------------------
“I’m just so ashamed…” Victoria covered her face as the tears came streaming down.
Phyllis walked into the room. “Victoria,” she said astounded.
She uncovered her face and looked at her mother. “M-Mother… how long have you been there?”
--------------------
Kate Weiss walked down the front porch walking towards her front door.
“Kate!” April yelled as she ran after her.
“Yes?”
“There’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you… but there’s just be so much going on that I haven’t even thought about it.”
She unlocked her door and opened it. “Come in.” She threw her keys on a table by the door and opened the refrigerator. It was empty… as usual. “Sit down in the living room. I’ll be with you in just a minute.” She picked up her phone and dialed her favorite pizza parlor’s number. “Hi Gary… it’s your favorite costumer. Yeah give me the usual and throw in a Pepsi. Thanks.” She clicked the phone off and returned it to the receiver. “What can I help you with April?” Kate said as she sat on her couch.
“Last night I was attacked at the hospital.”
“You were?” She said shocked. “By who? If it was Felicia I’ll have her arrested right now…”
“No it wasn’t her. I was attacked by a man.”
“Who was it April?”
“I don’t know who the guy was… he tried to…” She tugged at one of her fingers.
“You can tell me. What did he try to do?” She assured her friend.
“He tried to rape me…”
“Oh my God…”
“But luckily Nicholas Slater walked into the alley and scared him off.”
“Wait Nicholas Slater? He was there?”
She nodded yes. “He saved me from the man.”
“Phyllis told me today that he has been missing since last night....”
“You’re kidding me. That’s awful.”
She got up and grabbed her laptop. “Describe this man to me.” Though she didn’t need a description she had a feeling who the man was. She punched a password into the computer and opened up the police database. She half listened as April described the man to her. She typed in a name and his profile and picture came up. She turned the laptop around. “Is this him?”
April gasped at the sight of her attacked. "Yes… that’s him.”
“He’s the same man that Sarah Robinson reported going into City Hall right before Martha and Hank were murdered.”
“He’s the man that killed them?”
“We think so and the fact that Nicholas was missing after he stopped him from raping you if even more suspicious.”
“You don’t think he harmed or kidnapped Nicholas do you?”
“I think so…”
--------------------
Amir pulled his car into the driveway of the Robinson home. “This it?”
“Yep.”
“Wow it’s… incredible.”
“I guess so... Look I’m going to go for the family gets suspicious and comes out here to question you. We’ll save that for another day.”
He laughed, “oh I can’t wait.”
She leaned over and kissed him tenderly on the lips. “Good night.”
“Good night. I’ll call you.”
“Okay.” She closed the car door and walked up the pathway leading toward the front door. She waved to Amir as he drove away and opened the door. “Hello? Anyone home?” She was surprised to see no one in the living room or in seeing distance.
Noah ran at her, his face read distraught.
“What happened now?”
“You’ll never guess who’s here.”
“Who?”
“Ethan…” He said with a hint of disgust.
“Really? Oh my God! How wonderful! Where is he?”
“Simone and grandmother are setting him up in one of the guestrooms.”
“In one of the guestrooms? Nonsense he can stay in my part of the house.” She ran into the living room and down the hall.
Simone was finished putting a clean bedspread on the double bed.
“Thank you Simone.” He said as he put his final suitcase in the closet. “I’ll unpack tomorrow.”
Sarah darted around the corner and ran into the room. “Well I’ll be damned.” She said with a gleaming smile.
He quickly turned around at the sound of his favorite person’s voice. “Sarah!” He exclaimed as he sprinted across the guestroom to her.
They embraced and Sarah kissed the top of his head. “You’ve gotten so tall. Oh my God I can’t believe you’re here. I’ve missed you so much.”
Simone looked at Charlotte with a puzzled expression.
“They’re really close.” She stated as she walked out of the room.
--------------------
Kate and April walked briskly into Faye's hospital room. Kate was talking to someone at the department. "File a missing person’s report right now and I want all of our men out looking for Thomas. I want that bastard caught before he strikes again."
"M-Mother how long have you been standing there...?" Victoria asked in a shaken voice.
"Vic--"
"Phyllis. This is important." Kate said firmly as she stood behind her.
She turned around and saw the two women. "Inspector can it please wait?"
"Not one second."
"Kate--"
"Phyllis I'm pretty sure I know who has your son."
"What?"
"April was attacked by a man last night... Nicholas was able to stop him from raping her. I think the man came back and attacked Nicholas and most likely kidnapped him."
The machine hooked up to Faye began to beep. Phyllis and Victoria stared at it. "W-What's going on?" Victoria asked.
April ran over to the machine and read it. "My God..."
"What's going on April?" Phyllis demanded.
"She's coming out of the coma..."
--------------------
"Dammit this is getting annoying. I want to know why you have me here."
"I'm afraid I can't tell you Nicholas."
"What is it that you want? Money? I can get you plenty of it. Fame? You'll have it. I mean think of it kidnapping a famous rock star. You'll be a legend."
"I don't want your money or fame. Don't you get it Nicholas? You're just bait. I don't give a damn about who you are."
"Bait for what?"
"You'll know soon enough."
"Stop saying that! You fuc--"
"Ah Ah. Ah. I won't tolerate any of that language. I can't imagine Victoria as sophisticated as she is having a brother with such a foul mouth."
He rolled his eyes. "Shut up."
"I'll be leaving for a while..."
"Where are you going?" It was too late Thomas had already closed the door. He heard a click from a lock. "Dammit..."
--------------------
Mia kissed his mouth hard and moved down kissing his neck and his chest. She looked up at him, "tell me you love me."
"M-Mia..."
She sighed and continued making a trail of kisses down his chest and to his stomach.
--------------------
Sarah and Ethan sat on the bed in the room, chatting and catching up with each other. Simone walked in and handed Ethan the cordless phone. "I think it's your father."
He shrugged and answered.
"Hello?"
"Ethan where the hell are you?"
"Did you get my letter?"
"Yes."
"It explains everything, clearly. Or are you just too drunk to comprehend it right now?"
"You can't talk to me like that. Now where the hell are you?"
"I'm in America."
"Stop playing games. I know what you're up too. There is no way you're in America."
"Yes I am. Would you like for me to prove it? Would you like to speak to Sarah?" He handed Sarah the phone.
"Hello uncle--"
"Sarah... is that you?" He asked, disbelief in his tone.
"Yep. If it's okay with you Ethan's going to stay with me for a while. Don't worry I know the routine, make sure he's in school, no late nights. I'm only a few years younger than you. I know how to be a parent. I've got everything under control."
"Sarah..."
"Why are you worrying? I've got everything under control. You know me."
"You better have it under control."
"Of course I do. Now I have some catching up to do with my favorite cousin. I'll talk to you later." She clicked the phone off.
"You never seize to amaze me Sarah..."
"Ah, yes. Wonderful, fabulous me. Come on kiddo it's time for bed."
"You've got to be kidding me..."
--------------------
Laurie sat on her couch hugging a pillow. What had happened to her? Normally she would have chased after Mia, pushed her down on her face and got to Austin first. Although what would she had done to keep him? She was a virgin... and for right now she intended to keep it that way. She threw the pillow aside and got up. She was going to talk to Austin... right now. She opened her door and walked out. "God give me strength..." She muttered as she walked down the hallway. She reached his door and began to twist the doorknob...
--------------------
"Oh my God. Faye." Phyllis said as tears of relief rolled down her cheeks. "I've got to go call mother." She bolted out of the room.
"I'm going to go get a doctor that's here to come check on her immediately." April said as she walked out.
"Dammit I just want to talk to your mother." Kate said impatiently as she chased after Phyllis.
"I-I can't believe it... Thank you God... thank you so much." She sat on the couch overcome with joyness. Finally this nightmare was over... What was she thinking? She couldn't sit at a time like this. She had to be there by Faye's bedside as soon as she opened her eyes. She stood in front of the bed. "F-Faye..." she whispered, hoping to hasten her aunt's recovery. She heard footsteps enter the room. "Mother isn't this wonderful?" Hearing no response she turned around and gasped.
"I heard about your aunt outside of the room where I was waiting. Typical of the people that say they love you... always running away from you."
She stepped back, her back hitting the footrest. "Y-You know nothing about me..."
"I know more than you think I do."
"G-Get out..."
"Now, now. Don't be so demanding. You might never see your brother again if you are."
"W-What!? You sick bastard. You let him go. Where is he?"
He walked up to her and touched her cheek. "Do you really think I'm that stupid?"
"G-Get your hands off of me..."
He leaned in and whispered in her ear. "Dream of me tonight." He heard noise from heels coming, no doubt her mother. "That's my cue to exit." He walked out of the room and down the hallway so he would not be seen.
Phyllis walked in just as Thomas left the room. "Victoria... now that no one's around. I need to talk to you."
"Did you call grandmother?" She spit out, trying to change the subject at hand.
"Yes. She's on her way."
April and another doctor entered the room. The man looked at Faye's monitor. "Very good. She should come out of the coma any minute now." --------------------
Charlotte slowly walked down Sarah's wing of the home heading towards her bedroom. Old age had recently stricken her with back pains, hip pains, legs pains, foot pains, the number of pains seemed endless. She gently knocked on the door and walked into the room.
"Ethan where's Sarah?"
"She went downstairs to get something."
"Good. I need to talk to you for a minute."
"Sure. What's up?" He said as she walked to Sarah's bed to sit with his grandmother.
"I want to talk to you about your father..."
He jolted up and threw up his hands in protest. "I know where this is going and I refuse to hear it. There is no excuse for that man."
"Just please listen to me Ethan... you don't know the story, you really don't."
"I know the story."
"You just think you do. Will you please just listen to me?"
He sighed. “Okay...” He sat back on the bed.
"I know your father has his problems... but you don't know what a hard life he has had... I had your father when I was fifty years old. It sounds unbelievable but it's the truth. Your father was never a planned thing, he was a... mistake. Your grandfather and I just wanted one son, and we just planned on having your Uncle Charles. He was everything a great son should have been, kind, well behaved, good in school. From the very beginning your father knew he was a mistake. He was very withdrawn from your grandfather and I... even as a baby. When I heard I was pregnant again... it completely shocked me. I thought of abortion and I thought of adoption... but I couldn't give my child away, for me it was not a morally right thing to do. So I decided to keep him... it was a hard choice yes, but I knew what I had to do. All through out his teenage years he was in trouble and I was too old to deal with it Ethan... I was over sixty years old and he realized that... Your grandfather's health was declining. There was nothing we could do to control him. That is why your father is so angry... He knows he was a mistake and his brother always overshadowed him. It's my fault I do realize that... If I would have just spent more time with him... But what was done was done and if I could change it all I would change it. I was way past my prime and I just wish I would have had him sooner. That's it. Now you know the story behind your father..."
"I always thought he was adopted..."
"Now that you know the truth... maybe you can give him another chance. Your father needs love, he won't admit it but that's what he truly needs. Maybe you should think about going back to England and try to work things out with him. I think it's the best thing possible for you and him. You can't go without a father and he can't go without a son. He loves you. He may not act like it but he does love you. You’re his son. Nothing will ever change that." She patted him on the leg and stood up. "Just think about what I said..." She walked out of the room leaving Ethan by himself to think about what she had said.
--------------------
Suddenly she stopped twisting the doorknob. She shrugged, "dammit..." It was probably too late anyway... Mia and Austin were probably well on their way to super couple haven. She just wanted to talk to Austin one last time... I wonder if he's in there she pondered as she pressed her ear up against the door. She heard nothing. "That's it Laurie... no more." She muttered as she walked back to her room.
She sat back on her couch and again hugged her pillow. The only problem was she loved Austin for who he was... Mia just wanted him to have him since she couldn't have Noah. Why was Austin so blind to that fact? She sighed again and watched as the clock on the wall struck nine. "Austin..."

I write mostly on hotel paper
knowing that my thoughts will never leave this room
i'd be out of line telling you, "leave her"
so i lie lonely surrounded by you
by you

lately i can't be happy for no one
they think i need sometime to myself
i try to smile but i can't remember
and i know tomorrow there'll be nothing else

and i wanted to be
giving you everything that she's not giving
and i wanted to see
'cause i didn't believe what i'd been hearing

you turned out to be more than i bargained for
and i can tell that you need to get away
forgive me if i admit that i'd love to love you
we both realized it way too late

and i wanted to be
giving you everything that she's not giving
and i wanted to see
'cause i didn't believe what i'd been hearing

maybe this wind blowing in just came from the ocean i write mostly on hotel paper
